Tihota by Indult

I’ve just finished my bottle of TIHOTA and I’m at a crossroads. It was my first olfactory indulgence, and as my collection grew, I put it on hold for short periods. This is my third refill, and I thought it would be the last, at least for now, because I promised myself to curb the novelty-buying fever (and to be honest, it’s an endless list) and finish what I already have first. I thought I had it figured out, but using the last drops today made me understand once again why I am so devoted. I’ve read many negative reviews about its simplicity and high price. I agree in part, but for me, it is a simplistic beauty taken to its ultimate expression. It is an incredibly natural vanilla, unadulterated, warm, creamy, and with otherworldly longevity. It remains, for me, THE VANILLA.

I totally agree with Lito: the star is the vanilla, it’s not spicy, dry, or synthetic, it’s pure and linear, though it leans gourmand due to the sweetness and caramel touches, without being cloying. I have mixed feelings about Tihota; on one hand it smells delicious, my favourite note, and I fell head over heels for it, but on the other it’s just pure vanilla at an exorbitant price. I see it as pure luxury, something you allow yourself to buy to show off, like a pricey watch or a very tight two-seater sports car haha. I’ve read comparisons with Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace and yes, they smell similar and share the same notes, but if you put Tihota on one arm and Vanilla Lace on the other, with your eyes closed you can clearly tell which is which; you notice the quality and purity of the vanilla. Tihota is less synthetic (but I love both) and in both the musk isn’t very detectable to my nose. Would I buy it now? Of course! if I won the lottery xD and after buying everything I have pending. It’s a gem and one day I’ll be able to afford it; for now I have plenty of vanillas to satisfy my cravings and a Tihota sample to smell from time to time and remind myself that I want it even if I don’t need it =)
