Brioni is that expensive, elegant perfume that offers little sillage and longevity. It shares similarities with Fahrenheit, N.R. Him and Gucci II. Almairac executes it well, but as an EDP it feels a bit lacking. It is minimalist with violet taking centre stage. Perhaps it would have been a great evening scent if they had boosted it slightly, but the longevity is scarce apart from the opening. It is a blue freshness and depth that simply doesn’t work for my skin or my wallet. Neither meat nor fish. It stands out more in spring and autumn, looking very elegant, very refined, and denoting personality.

To put it briefly: if you like violet, this is the king here, blended with musk. It combines freshness and a marine air with a heart of wood and amber. I didn’t love it, but it’s not bad; quite the opposite. It’s elegant, soft yet firm; it doesn’t overpower, you have to get close to smell it. Performance and projection are average. I prefer the Eclat and the Intense.
