It is sweet, vanilla-like, type Nutella, almost almond. Charming with the creaminess of the sandalwood that makes it exquisite and sexy. It is synthetic and affordable, lasts a long time and leaves incredible sillage. It is nocturnal, for fresh climates and romantic outings. Youthful and charming, it brings guaranteed male compliments. If you like sweet fragrances that generate compliments, this is ideal.
Lovely perfume, much more affordable than the Britney Spears Fantasy and quite similar. If you like that one, you will like Ciel Nuit even more, especially for the price. In terms of longevity, it has nothing to envy.
In my experience it lasts less than the other Ciel scents (about 4 hours instead of 5 or 6) and becomes almost exclusively sweet vanilla, losing the other notes, especially in projection. What a pity the bad chemistry with my skin, as it smells very pleasant on the bottle and on blotting paper.
It is very good. If you like sweet fragrances, you will love it. Of the entire Ciel collection, it is my favourite alongside the classic.
Very sweet, too much. It is invasive and I don’t tolerate so much sweetness, but I recommend it to those who love very sweet perfumes.
I love it, although among the tested (classic Ciel, Rosé, D’été, Nuit, Crystal, Noir) it is not my favourite; that honour goes to Ciel Noir, which is more sophisticated. This is my second favourite. I’ve bought it several times: it is super sweet. I’ve never tried the Britney Fantasy, but as it appears similar and is a dupe, anyone who likes the Fantasy should try it. On my dry skin it is pure vanilla, a bit powdery (I like it because with few sprays it remains delicate, although with many it becomes synthetic). I detect vanilla and something fruity; little floral, I don’t notice jasmine (a pity) and perhaps a touch of peach. If you don’t like vanilla, you won’t like it. It is youthful, sometimes comes across as teenage (I’m over 30) but I still like it. It is simple, gourmand, almost like a dessert. Linear, it smells the same from start to finish. Ideal for teenagers or young girls who love sweetness. It was my daily wear at university (18-20 years), during the day in fresh seasons or at night for its persistence. It lasts about 5 hours, then fades to skin. It is good, pretty and cheap, versatile day/night but better for fresh climates. For the price, it is totally worth it.
I owned the Fantasy years ago and can compare them well. There is a resemblance, but they are not the same: the Fantasy is more complex, less synthetic and creamier due to the chocolate and cupcakes which Ciel Nuit lacks. Ciel Nuit is super sweet, with little floral and no specific fruits, smelling of vanilla and sandalwood with something powdery. It is linear, shines in winter and is comfortable day or night. Although it feels synthetic, it is lovely, pleasant and men like it. It is affordable, has good sillage and a pretty bottle. It’s worth it for sweet lovers, a budget gem.
Cannon has so many fragrances, and the database needs completing with Ciel Rose, Magic, the Prune I, II and III, the Paulas and others.
I’ve loved it since I was 15 in school, and at 30 it’s still a firm favourite in my wardrobe; I’m on my sixth bottle. It’s my affordable daily scent. Although I own the Fantasy, they are not alike: Ciel Nuit is fresh, fruity and citrusy with a sweet touch, whereas the Fantasy is gourmand with cupcakes and chocolate. Perhaps the quince adds acidity, but they don’t share notes.
It’s a classic I’ve worn for years because it balances citrus and florals just as my skin demands. I never get tired of it and always return to it.
A good perfume. It feels very vanilla and sweet, with a citrus touch. I like it, although it doesn’t make me fall in love.
It opens with citrus touches, then the vanilla appears (a bit synthetic but pleasant) and settles in linearly. Although it’s vanilla-forward, it has a fresh and youthful spirit, perfect for any age and for everyday wear. Very rich and lovely. The longevity is short; I agree it’s the one from the Ciel line that lasts the least.
A gourmand for every day. It starts with fruity and green notes, then seems like a delicious dessert <3.
I used to wear it at university and loved it, until I got sick of the cloying sweetness and stopped repurchasing it. It deserves a chance for gourmand lovers.
I don’t know if I’m the only one, but it’s too sweet and cloying, as if something went wrong in making a night perfume. I can’t find any peach or lime; honestly, it gives me nausea and is impossible to wear outside the house. Very heavy and not youthful at all.
I’m a fan of sweet scents, so I’d never criticise this. Ciel Nuit is super sweet, opening powdery, but the base is softer although it remains slightly sweet. There’s one in the Ciel line for every woman; I recommend it for those who enjoy strong aromas. It lasts three hours on the skin and is ideal for cloudy, fresh days, not for much heat as it can become overwhelming.
Ciel Nuit is sweet, similar to Britney’s Fantasy Midnight. I use it very sparingly because it’s very noticeable; I think it’s ideal for cold climates and night outings. If you don’t spray it lightly, it becomes overwhelming. It comes out sweet, then the vanilla lingers on the skin.
I love it! Just like Britney’s. On my olfactory map, it takes me straight to Loewe’s Quizás Quizás Quizás.
It doesn’t smell like Britney or Natura; Ciel Nuit is fruitier and more wearable. It’s not the red berry splash either… Oh, that obsession with hunting for clones. It’s a rich, sweet and fruity fragrance with a fresh touch and surprising longevity for the price, but I never felt brave enough to buy it due to how mass-market it is.
Ciel Nuit 💜 wasn’t released in 2017, they should correct that like they did with other Ciel scents. I used it in 2010 and it was my first sweet scent, although I prefer citrus, ozonic, floral, and aquatic notes. It attracted me because, despite the sweetness, it started fresh at first and I enjoyed that citrus part before the peach, flowers, and vanilla mixed in. I think it’s the one where the sweetness is most noticeable among the Ciel range, alongside Magic. It goes perfectly with cool weather, in the afternoon or at night.
It lasts and highlights the vanilla, but on my skin it smells like bad memories of an ex who used it in the heat with sweat. I can’t stand it even to smell it (sorry if it repels anyone).
I love notes of this style, but this one is unbearable: an exaggerated sweet and synthetic scent that I just can’t stand.
Very sweet, I was given it as a gift in my teens and the truth is, it didn’t suit me. At first it smells fruity and citrusy, then a synthetic vanilla and a soft sandalwood emerge which on my skin turns into tonka bean and shampoo. I don’t like it, neither for the sweetness nor for the artificiality; I prefer to feel ‘better dressed’ and this gives me the opposite. It lacks quality, although my friend adores it. On my skin it lasts 6 hours with moderate sillage, good performance for the price.
It’s a shame they reformulated it (this is September 2023). Before, it was a sweet bomb identical to Britney’s pink Fantasy, with a trail and a desire to eat it. Now it barely smells, as if they removed key notes and it feels different and even ugly. If you’re looking for something similar, the perfume ‘F’ by Florencia Peña is identical to what this Ciel used to be.
The one that went crazy for me during my puberty years, and now I see why. Rich, dessert-like vanilla, but without going overboard or being boring. Ideal for going out at night, and watch out, it’s super cheap.
The old version was my teenage perfume; the new one feels sweeter but is truly exquisite. It might tire your nose a bit after a while, but it’s still wonderful. The longevity, at least on my skin, is 6 to 8 hours, which is super good considering how affordable it is.
Supposedly it’s a dupe for Fantasy. I liked the original (only the old batch from the 2000s), but this Ciel doesn’t like it at all. It’s extremely sweet and makes me scrunch my nose when I smell it. It smells like a dry, powdery sweet. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly because it might end up being overwhelming for you.
Please add Ciel Magic!
I bought it again a few days ago without having heard of it for two or three years and fell in love with it once more. On my skin, it’s a creamy, authentic vanilla, nothing synthetic. It doesn’t seem cloying or heavy; I’m a huge fan of sweet scents and for me, it’s a 10 for price and quality. I love layering it and it tastes absolutely divine at night with 212 Sexy. It suits any season or occasion. Perhaps I’ll want it more in winter, but I’ll use it a lot in summer too. This year I was looking for something like this and didn’t consider more expensive alternatives that had captivated me years ago. I’ll finish this love letter to Ciel Nuit: give Ciel a chance, it’s been breaking hearts for a long time!
Listen, I smelled something different from what the description says: it smells like plastic or rubber mixed with something sweet and earthy, like dusty vetiver and dried fruit. It’s odd. Then a sharp synthetic note appears, almost metallic, which I just can’t stand.
I bought it last week during a perfume and deodorant promotion at Pigmento. Upon spraying it, I realised it wasn’t the same as before. Something strange had happened and it wasn’t pleasant. It smells metallic. I’m not sure if there was a quality control issue, but that scent is certainly not normal.
At first, I detected a green plant scent with a spicy note. I checked the notes and there was nothing to match. Ten minutes later, I smelled it again and it had improved, taking on that Fantasy vibe, but as if it had been sprayed onto plastic and then sniffed.
Nooo, absolutely dreadful, it smells like burnt wood.
I discovered it in 2024 and was pleasantly surprised. I own Britney’s Fantasy; it disappointed me at first but grew on me over time and is now one of my favourites for autumn/winter. I just bought Ciel Nuit in 50ml and I love it—a softer version of Fantasy but very similar at an incredible price in Argentina. 2025 edition: It’s very good as a budget alternative to Fantasy, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Researching Argentine perfumes, I tried all the Cannon scents; they don’t last long but are pleasant. However, Ciel Nuit… I loved it. Don’t buy blindly, but do give it a try; it’s original, long-lasting, and praised by both men and women. I asked my boyfriend to choose between a French scent and Ciel Nuit without telling him which was which. He absolutely adored Ciel Nuit and thought it was the imported one; he was wrong, but he admitted it was excellent. Don’t miss out, plus it’s cheap.
Super recommended budget fragrance. It smells of orange on me (probably the peach and lime). It’s very sweet and lasts several hours. I own the Magic too, but this is my favourite of the Ciel range.
In my opinion, it’s one of the best Ciel flankers. Unlike the others, it’s very sweet and has an incredible trail. It smells of vanilla with a hint of fruit at the start, though initially it smells of plastic before that fades. They say it was reformulated and is no longer like the Fantasy, which is likely. If you’re looking for a Fantasy dupe, give it a try, but its dry-down is different. It’s good value for money and recommended if you want something sweet and cheap.
It’s sweet, modern, persistent, and has good projection. I liked it, but now that I’m trying other scents, even though it’s nice, it gets a bit tiring after a while.
It smells very similar to the Fantasy opening; don’t expect cupcake or chocolate as there are none, but the start is quite alike. The Ciel line are brilliant in terms of price-to-quality ratio and work great as dupes.
My first Ciel; I never liked it but gave it a chance. It smells super sweet and synthetic, yet it lasts a long time and is potent. For the price, it’s a good daily option—a vanilla with an almond note that’s best enjoyed in winter.
