My favourite vanilla. It smells very natural; you can sense the pod and the seeds, of high quality and nothing pastry-like. Citrus from the house dominates at first. As it dries, you note the neroli and jasmine, but the blend is soft and silky. I tried the black bottle version and it’s not the same; eventually they resemble each other, but here the notes are more natural. In the latest reformulation, I detect a synthetic ingredient that screams in my nose, like the screaming caterpillar from The Simpsons, that won’t shut up until two hours have passed. My partner also wears it in winter and it smells more woody to them, but just as well. It’s one of those fragrances that hugs you; it surprises you at the collar of a wool coat or scarf. You step out on those crisp autumn days with a big smile, smelling better than anyone else.

ADP Colonia Vaniglia smells super natural and high quality, as Rizzada says. It kicks off with a citrusy cologne touch and a dominant vanilla from the start all the way to the end, with white flowers (jasmine to my nose) giving it creaminess and freshness. Then it dries down and that vanilla gets a bit ‘crunchy’ without losing its spotlight. I like it more than the black bottle version because here the vanilla is the queen and isn’t upstaged by neroli, jasmine, or musk like in the EDP. I think it’s unisex, ideal for the cold, with great longevity and projection for any occasion. It’s a pity this line of colognes is disappearing because they all have killer quality. I’d consider buying it, but I prefer other vanillas like Eau Duelle by Diptyque, though it’s worth at least trying. Rating: 8/10.

I prefer this to the new black bottle version because here the vanilla is the star, not lost among neroli, jasmine, or musk like in the EDP. I think it’s unisex, ideal for cold weather, with great longevity and projection. It’s a luxury being lost; all the colognes in this line are top tier. I’d own it, though I prefer other vanillas like Eau Duelle by Diptyque, but it’s worth a try. Rating: 8/10.
Beautiful and original vanilla. The ADP DNA is very subtle, featuring a vanilla distinct from others I’ve tried (unlike Van Py Rhum, which I found generic), followed by a noticeable musk. It doesn’t feel gourmand or sexy like Babycat or RM5, but rather velvety, supportive, and never cloying. I see it as super versatile (provided it’s not extreme heat) and totally unisex. It is discontinued, I found it, and it was a great blind buy success. If you have the option to try it, don’t hesitate.
Beautiful and original vanilla. The ADP DNA remains very subtle, standing out against a vanilla note that feels distinct from the generic kind found in other scents, such as Van Py Rhum. It finishes with a prominent musk. Without being gourmand or sexy like Babycat, this vanilla is velvety, supportive, and never cloying. Super versatile (provided it’s not extreme heat) and totally unisex. I found it discontinued and it was a blind buy success. If you can try it, don’t hesitate.
