They have chosen to reclaim the essence of Courrèges for modern times without compromising their identity avoiding the creation of soulless luxury-priced garments like the second-tier brands do in the style of CH. Exactly what Courrèges was something highly wearable that has surpassed the impact of futuristic and geometric patterns. Fingers crossed it works; Courrèges has one of the most beautiful logos ever created. Another similar French futuristic aesthetic house that has been a fashion insider secret for a few years is Rabanne which has returned to reclaim its essence of movement street style and dynamism. As for fragrances we all know the aberration it has become: Chinese market products sold under luxury brand names.   Courreges in BLUE is a breath of fresh, lovely, and potent air, anything but overdone these days. A gorgeous, ethereal, and modern aldehyde, perfect for everyday wear or a special occasion. If you enjoy aldehydes, freshness, and modernity from around 2019, this is a brilliant success at a price point most can afford. Anyone who has tried Chanel No. 22 and likes aldehydes cannot help but be moved by a fragrance rooted in the past yet experienced with eyes gazing into the distance. Of course, Chanel carries a price tag far beyond what most of us can justify; here is this Courreges example, which, while not identical, offers a modern option with vintage airs. Simply beautiful. Its opening is overwhelmingly fresh and metallic, a metallic note that will appeal to those who don’t dislike the lacquer-style aldehyde. The moss, as it is today, is nothing comparable to the moss of the 80s as it is far more synthetic, but it is always beautifully masked by the lavender and the wonderfully fresh, pretty flowers it carries. I detect a lovely rose, nothing murky or darkened; it is a beautifully fresh and light rose, which I adore. I say this because roses lately tend to turn me off as I notice strong ammoniacal tones, often mixed with those current, headstrong musks. This is a perfume for a decisive person, one who never looks to see what others are doing, who has their path clearly marked, who is also kind and humble but possesses personality. It is for people who know how to appreciate themselves, who do not settle, yet whose approach to life is never to stand out by trying to surpass anyone or climb by pushing against others’ shoulders to raise walls. It is for a true woman, with very clear emotional intelligence, who feels emotion, who accepts making mistakes but knows her errors stem from her own lack of courage in certain situations; from this she prospers and progresses, being a woman built on her own experience. Courreges in BLUE is simple but not plain, tender, it is moved but also knows where to stand; it is the scent and resurgence of an unfrustrated life. She is happier with less, and that little, however small, holds great value for her because it sprang from her true interior.
