I’ve had this for some time. At first, I liked it, but later it became bothersome. It begins with a sweet note reminiscent of cola. Then it intensifies with cognac and rum; combined with coffee, they create a mature blend. The alcoholic notes gave me a headache and stinging eyes. It’s fine for those who enjoy strong scents, but I prefer softer ones.
Indeed, it smells like ‘canned apple’, but it disappointed me greatly. At first, it smells nice, but within minutes the notes become unpleasant as it turns very synthetic. I will finish the bottle, but I will NEVER buy it again.
I love it; it’s sweet and synthetic yet fresh and masculine. The longevity is decent, lasting around 4 to 6 hours. The trail is potent for the first hour before settling to a conversational distance. I tried it three years ago and bought a second bottle just last month.
As I read in another review, it’s ‘fresh aquatic’, not aquatic. Wonderful for its dense alcoholic base of cognac and rum over a fruity apple foundation soaked in that liquor. The woods give it body and the spices, such as saffron, make it slightly spicy. I remember it as an adult fragrance, heavy yet comfortable and addictive, with a beautiful bottle.
It is a very distinctive fragrance; it does not remind me of any other because I have used many perfumes in my life. It smells like cognac, white wine, and fruit; I love it very much, especially the bottle, which is very versatile.
I have this wonderful perfume and I love its bottle for its original and creative shape, stepping out of the usual mould of other packaging. It lasts me about five hours and the smell is delicious, like apples in cognac, sweet and sour, and intoxicating. Recommended for young people from 25 years onwards.
It’s very fresh, ideal for summer, with moderate longevity and poor projection, staying close to the skin. The apple note dominates, that unlisted one. I didn’t detect iris, only a hint of cognac or rum, nor the cardamom I enjoy. I found it good, not synthetic; perhaps it didn’t work well on my skin, but I felt it was refined. It could be an interesting option if you like aquatic fragrances. Greetings from Argentina.
First I wrote my opinion, then I read the others and saw that there are divided opinions, but from those differences come positive things, and I think it is very good.
It is very fresh, ideal for summer, with medium longevity and low projection, sticking to the skin. The apple dominates, an undeclared note in Red Delicious Men; I did not sense iris, but something of rum or cognac, nor the cardamom that I love. I thought it was good, nothing synthetic; perhaps it did not work on my skin, but I felt it was refined. It could be an interesting option if you like aquatic fragrances. Warm regards from Argentina.
It is a unique fragrance, super fresh and fruity, as if it were an aged apple with a touch of rich liquor; the bad thing is that it is no longer sold.
To me, it’s not as boozy as most say. Nor would I call it super fruity, or at least not with such clarity. To me, it seems almost as much spiced. Anyway, the combination or balance seems relatively original. Its problem is the quality in performance and projection; it behaves like a normal shower gel. Without having a reasonable price, the bottle can be expensive given the amounts needed to apply to have strength and presence.
As I read in another review, it is ‘fresh aquatic’, not aquatic. Wonderful for its alcoholic density thanks to the cognac and rum over a fruity base of apple soaked in that liquor. The woods give it body and the spices, such as saffron, make it slightly peppery. I remember it as an adult fragrance, heavy but comfortable and addictive, with a beautiful bottle.
It is not unusual; DKNY Red Delicious Men fits right into that category of scents that hit you the moment they leave the bottle. The best part is the smell: a masculine woody fragrance launched as a limited edition in 2006, with a red bottle carrying sexy and bold notes. It is an apple (undeclared) built on cognac and rum, with floral edges that give it a mature personality; it feels robust and slightly sober, which I like very much. I am drawn to the tangerine flower note, which I cannot quite distinguish from the blend, but it hovers around something similar to orange blossom. Undoubtedly, it evokes an era where vodka (Z Zegna Extreme), rum (Guerlain Homme), and whisky (Baldessarini Ambre) were key in the aromatic creation of the second half of the nineties. RED opens with a bitter apple liquor that improves with time; it is a linear fragrance but with a very beautiful descent between spicy and floral notes, with great performance. In short, it was a great surprise to buy it blind, which amplifies the happiness this scent brings.
No wonder; there are many examples where the scent comes straight from the bottle, and DKNY Red Delicious Men fits right there. But what’s best is its smell: it’s a limited edition men’s fragrance launched in 2006 with woody notes. It features apple (unlisted) in cognac and rum, with floral touches that give it a mature, robust personality without veering into old age, balanced by a slight sobriety that I appreciate. The tangerine blossom catches my attention; I can’t quite distinguish it well, but it hovers around orange. A wonderful surprise; I bought it blind and am very pleased.
I find it delicious, sweet and synthetic yet fresh and masculine. The longevity is good, between 4 and 6 hours. The trail is very potent for the first hour before settling to a conversational distance. I used it for the first time three years ago and bought a second bottle just last month.
For me, it does not smell as alcoholic as people say. Nor is it very fruity, or at least not with such clarity. What I do notice is a very marked spicy touch. The blend itself seems quite original and balanced. The problem is the quality: the performance and projection are average, like a shower gel. And mind you, it is not cheap, but with the amount you have to apply for it to be truly noticeable, it ends up costing a lot.
DKNY Red Delicious Men: Top notes are alcoholic. Middle notes: the alcoholic top notes persist and blend with a soft coffee. Dry down: the alcoholic notes become fruitier, mimicking the scent of a red apple over a background of coffee, bergamot, and a touch of sandalwood. Projection and longevity: projects for about four hours and lasts around six. Conclusion: alcoholic and aromatic. The opening is somewhat disconcerting; it may seem as though you have sprayed liquor on yourself, but it is not. After a few minutes, the bergamot and coffee emerge, adding much more depth and body. The blend mimics a ripe, slightly fermented red apple (hence the alcoholic scent). It is rich and singular; I have heard nothing like it (at least until now), so if you are looking for something different to wear for most of the year, go ahead—it does not disappoint.
DKNY Red Delicious Men is not just a perfume; it is a story told note by note, like a secret chapter of a modern, passionate man. The intense red bottle, as passionate as it is, invites you with a tempting whisper. The elegant, masculine chrome cap guards a mystery: the red apple, a symbol of the city that never sleeps. Upon opening it, the air fills with a fresh, juicy sweetness, as if you were biting into that forbidden fruit. The notes dance sensually; cognac and rum blend together, evoking secret club nights and hushed conversations in dim light. Saffron adds a spicy touch, like the brush of a silk tie against the skin, making the fragrance intriguing, like a clandestine encounter in a dark alley. Sandalwood and patchouli emerge as the foundations of an old building—wood and earth—creating a solid, masculine base. But there is more: the exotic, mysterious tiger orchid appears from the shadows, that unexpected touch that defies expectations and reminds us that masculinity is not linear. The longevity keeps its promise; although it does not last forever, it leaves a mark on the memory. Like the last sip of liquor before leaving the club, it fades with elegance, leaving a trail of intrigue and desire. It is a very singular and rich fragrance, ideal for temperate climates and certainly for going out at night.
