Individuel by Montblanc is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2003, this composition was created by perfumer Pierre Bourdon. The top notes unfold lavender, cinnamon, pineapple, juniper berries, mint, bergamot, rosemary, cardamom and coriander; the heart reveals orange blossom, violet, geranium and jasmine; while the base notes complete the structure with raspberry, vanilla, sandalwood, dark chocolate, musk, amber, patchouli, vetiver and oakmoss.

  • To my taste it is good for casual use. In the heat I find it a bit heavy, but in the cold it works great. The trail is low, so it is a bad option for parties or open places. For daily wear in the office or school it is fine: it is a quiet, elegant and interesting lotion for enclosed spaces and mild climates.

  • I don’t see the versatility they claim; it becomes tiring and very synthetic, smelling literally of raspberry floor cleaner. Moreover, it gave me a slight headache. If you want to smell like a clean public bathroom, go ahead with this. 3/10.

I always had it on my wishlist and hesitated to buy it, but it was worth the wait. Here in Mexico we had the ‘buen fin’, like a local Black Friday, and I took advantage of the offer. It is effervescent, metallic, herbal and aquatic like its bottle. It smells sparkling, luminous and intoxicating. Violet and lavender floral notes at the start, then a fruity sweetness with pineapple and cardamom, a touch of fine cinnamon and a sillage of velvety sandalwood and musk. It is a perfect hybrid for any occasion, climate or age. The bottle is spectacular, square and chrome. I consider it the perfume of the future, versatile and timeless.

  • Santiago_bermu

Sweet and metallic, with a fruity and clean note. I think it needs more application to be noticeable, but for the price it is good. 8/10.

Let me take you down… Strawberry Fields. INDIVIDUEL by Montblanc remains a success since 2003. It is one of the spiciest I have tried, an explosion of cinnamon. It smells sweet, fruity and slightly dusty. Yes, it gives that laundry softener vibe, but it also brings to mind blueberry and strawberry fields. Friendly, warm and cosy, perfect for dressing casually on cold days.

  • I tried it as a decant and it smells strongly of Nivea deodorant. The scent isn’t bad but left me indifferent. It clings to clothes, it just lacks character. I will try it again.

  • A very particular aroma, nothing to buy blindly. I love that mix of fruit and metal, it smells super elegant. Ideal for autumn and winter. Recommended.

  • Very synthetic, metallic and sweet scent with raspberry; the blend is sophisticated but lacks naturalness for me, better to test before spending.

  • Don Gabriel

A curious perfume that I love. On the skin, it starts sweet, fruity, and metallic. Over time, it becomes very smoky, almost like wood, but nicely, like a dark and elegant incense. 10/10, but it’s not for everyone.

  • Synthetic but tolerable. Fresh, but I didn’t like it. It doesn’t show all the notes and lasts little on the skin, although from a distance it holds up a bit more. Suitable for young people or the gym. On clothes, it lasted over 15 hours.

  • Joop Homme with chocolate. I don’t like either this one or the regular Joop. I can’t stand the chocolate in this one and the jasmine in the other. Try before you buy; they aren’t pleasant scents. But well, to each their own.

  • Rodrigo.Aguilera

Be very careful; it’s not for summer. Although it appears fruity and fresh, it’s deceptive: it smells sweet, powdery, metallic, and heavy, with lots of synthetic strawberry like a room freshener or remedy. At 23 years old with casual clothes, I don’t see it; it seems more for a suit. It’s elegant, mature, and sophisticated, better for winter or cold spring. Don’t buy blindly.

  • I bought this eagerly due to the good reviews, but it was a disappointment. It smells very soft, bland, and doesn’t last at all. After a few minutes, you notice nothing; initially, it just smells ‘clean’ and then disappears. No personality, totally standard. I don’t understand the success. For this price, there are much better options. According to Checkfresh, it’s from September 2021. The marketing for this Individuel is brutal.

  • typpeorange835

I received mine today and I agree with you. I expected something powerful and synthetic as they say, but it’s so subtle that you can’t smell it from a distance. It stays close to the skin; you have to sniff it like a dog. I’m tired of these brands’ reformulations; they laugh at us.

  • Bacanissima

Beware of those who only put on a pretty face and style. There are many perfumes that are scams, whether niche or mainstream; don’t fall for it.

  • Jeremy Fragrance recommends it and he’s right: it’s affordable and smells just like Creed Original Santal, but at a fraction of the price. Perfect for mild weather or when it’s cold.

  • pedropablomiro

Forget about this and the YouTubers who know nothing. Montblanc Individuel smells disgusting, synthetic, and of poor quality. 1/10. Batch: 08G25G144 (2016).

  • It’s sweet, from the Joop Homme line but more wearable and less aggressive. They don’t smell identical, though many compare them; they follow the same family. Individuel is a pleasant gourmand with raspberry, vanilla, lavender, cinnamon, and dark chocolate, featuring countless floral and sweet notes. It lasts me over 12 hours with moderate to high projection. Ideal for autumn and spring. When I finish the bottle, I won’t repurchase; I enjoyed it, but it doesn’t give me an intrinsic need to own it always. We met, enjoyed our time together, and the memory will remain etched on my nose. Give it a chance 🙂

  • Chewbacca71

Fresh and pleasant, but it didn’t convince me. It doesn’t reveal all the notes and lasts for barely any time, not even leaving a trail. Ideal for young people or the gym; it’s gone in 15 minutes. Don’t waste your money; there are better options at this price.

  • Good heavens, what a complex perfume. I love the dry-down; it’s a delicious raspberry. The other notes are strange, synthetic, and metallic, yet rich for me. The projection is very weak and the longevity moderate to low. I bought it and hated it due to poor performance, put it away, and when I finally wore it again, it was a bombshell—my partner was hypnotised. It’s sweet but not gourmand, more effeminate, and I use that Montblanc lavender in a super-masculine way. I keep wondering if I should buy it again. If the performance were better, it would be a beast.

  • Polperfumeman

It smells like detergent or chemical solvent; nothing pleasant. I bought it while collecting Montblanc fragrances, and it’s the worst one from the brand I’ve tested, having tried most of their range.

  • Individuel is complex, heady, and sometimes misunderstood. Every time I wear it, I notice different things; the fruity and heady notes dominate. I’ve received compliments on how unique it smells. It’s worth it if you’re looking for an affordable designer scent for everyday wear. If you need something for special or evening events, there are better options. The longevity is good: it projects for about two hours and lasts another four hours close to the skin. If you already own it, don’t discard it—give it a try and experiment with it.

  • I’ve worn it since I was 30, before YouTube and influencers. It’s the fragrance of my life, the one I use most and with which I fuse 100%. I don’t know how many bottles I’ve bought, but since December 2023 I haven’t noticed any reformulation. For me, it lasts over 10 hours and smells on clothes for two days. I don’t understand those who complain about performance.

  • I’ve been using it for two years; it was my first perfume. It’s incredible, sweet, and very versatile. When you come out, it smells fresh and aromatic without being cloying. It’s a compliment machine at a good price. It smells of vanilla, raspberry, and chocolate, but the lavender balances the sweetness. It has an air of Joop Homme but it’s not the same; this is more versatile and not just for cold weather. A marvel.

  • With all its aromatic ingredients, it’s very wearable and not cloying. It feels fresh and hard to get bored of.

  • Rodrigrx365

It’s a very personal fragrance; it doesn’t leave a trail and its longevity is short, ranging from 2 to 4 hours.

  • I agree with the similarity to Joop!, without reaching the exaggeration of the other; this Individuel is a more than interesting and versatile perfume. As for trail and longevity, I have no complaints, and even less so for this price.

  • To be honest, it felt flat and characterless, a dull thing. In the end, I gave it to a friend because it didn’t do anything for me.

  • naso_en_ciernes

Most of us are guilty of hype purchases, and sadly, few of those purchases turn out successful. Individuel is a Joop! Homme for the office and ‘talc-like’, for daytime use. Therefore, it is sweet, plastic, fruity, floral, and cinnamon-y, which actually offers little option for knowing when to wear it… basically it is informal, youthful, sweet, but I believe there are hundreds of other better sweet options available today from Montblanc and elsewhere. It is also unisex. In short, I will not continue with my criticism and just emphasise: try it. The moral of the story is that perfumes are always abandoned in the increasingly numerous collection; those that no longer say much and bore the nose. They are not bad scents; I believe there are no bad perfumes, but they no longer inspire the choice as a fragrance of the day, and there they remain, gathering dust. Greetings. **Performance, longevity, and projection are short or low, despite having that sweet vibe that tends to be noticed, or it would give the impression of being a long-lasting perfume.

  • Generally, I add a review after using a perfume for a long time; here is my opinion on Individuel: I bought this perfume from a community friend at one of our tastings for around $16. It is an affordable fragrance with a clean soapy DNA in the style of Prada Amber Pour Home, making Individuel, due to price, better for daily use; obviously, if you can afford bottles and bottles of Prada, that will always be the better option. Individuel starts with a very synthetic aroma, which I imagine comes from that raspberry accord, resulting in a slightly unpleasant experience during those first few minutes. Once it dries down, the clean scent remains, giving you that freshly showered feeling for about 4 hours, during which you do feel a moderate sillage, enough for the wearer to be aware they are wearing perfume. Then it fades away; I would give it a total longevity of about 6 hours, surely lasting a bit longer on clothes. But I would never highlight its performance. If you are looking for a daily office fragrance that smells clean, it is a very good option, especially due to the price. It is also a scent that serves for any climate, time, season, or outfit, as it is very versatile. It is fresh but not citrusy, clean but not elegant, with a slight sweet fruity touch but not cloying. It is an average perfume but still very recommended. Now that I have my Prada Amber Pour Home and can afford a second bottle if this one runs out, I see no point in keeping Individuel in my collection, which is why I gave it to a friend after having it for several weeks. It can easily be a blind buy; if you can tolerate that synthetic opening, it remains a good perfume that will not offend or annoy anyone. And in the same way, it will not surprise or stand out in any way. Scent: 6/10 Longevity: 5/10 Price: 10/10 Projection: 6/10 Uniqueness: 4/10 Usability: 8/10

  • A nostalgic perfume for me with a rich, versatile scent; I love it, only I do not recommend it for extreme heat.

  • Quality that deceives the price: my real experience. I use it daily and confirm: its olfactory quality far surpasses other budget perfumes. This is key because its price is notably accessible. I radically disagree with reviews that label it as ‘synthetic’, ‘poor longevity’, or ‘disappointing’. In my experience: – The Scent: It is a perfect fusion between freshness and a touch of sweetness, but nothing cloying. It is not overly sweet; it has an elegant balance that avoids fatigue. – The Projection: Whoever smells you will notice a quality perfume, not a cheap aroma. It conveys sophistication without pretension. – Longevity: Contrary to negative comments, it lasts well on skin and clothes (4-6 hours on me, with 4-5 sprays). – Realistic Rating: Is it the best in the world? No. But for its price, it offers an olfactory experience that competes with much more expensive fragrances. If you are looking for something versatile for daily life, with a serene but distinguished character, it is a safe bet. Sincere conclusion: Forget prejudices. Try it on your skin: you will discover a discreet classic that delivers without fuss. Ideal for men seeking a clean, reliable essence without breaking the bank.

  • With this perfume, I fell in love with Montblanc; it is a scent that, to date (2025), I do not find in other fragrances; it is unique. I would buy it again without a doubt.

  • From the golden era of Montblanc—although the house still holds firm in the market—emerges a scent that was groundbreaking in its time (even with Joop around): a balance between fresh and sweet, different from what dominated the landscape. The best part is that today it can be worn without seeming like everyone else; on the contrary, it adds personality and distinction against the masses. It is a masculine perfume, seductive, addictive, and timeless. At the price it usually commands, it is almost a gift. That said, it is not for everyone: it connects especially with those who grew up in an era where every launch came with a clear concept and a solid creative proposal, not with the current flood of flankers appearing every few months. Such was its impact that even Creed launched its own interpretation. Yes, with higher quality, but whoever set the trend was Individuel. A classic that deserves to be tried at least once. If it suits you, you will hardly let it go: an undisputed gem of Montblanc.

  • JohnLecter86

It is one of the few fragrances in my collection that I am completely indifferent towards. While it is not an unpleasant scent, it feels very sweet and goes largely unnoticed. Perhaps in its time it was good, but I believe this formula is now very forgotten, although I do think I can keep it in my collection to use very sporadically. In short, not all blind buys work out.

  • Individuel by Montblanc is a highly interesting fragrance that combines sweetness and fruitiness with a unique aromatic character. Its notes of lavender and cinnamon add a warm, spicy touch, while the woody, talc-like, and vanilla base gives it a very distinctive softness. Despite this complex mix of fresh and spicy notes, it comes across as a very clean ‘blue’ style scent that is extremely pleasant to anyone nearby. Professional profile: It’s a fragrance I really like for the office only. I find it very elegant and professional; it has the great advantage of not disturbing the environment, which is ideal for enclosed spaces where you want to smell good without being intrusive. Performance and seasons: It has excellent longevity and lasts a long time on the skin. It is so balanced that it is pleasant in any season. However, as a point to note, in summer the trail is not as noticeable, as the heat seems to contain its projection a bit more. Verdict: It is the perfect choice if you are looking to project a neat, sophisticated, and reliable image during your workday.

  • Every time I smell the cap, I’m reminded of the classic pink radioactive Joop! That alone tells us we’re dealing with a perfume from another generation. For today’s times (2026), I find this Montblanc one very old-school. The opening hits with a lavender blast (think floor cleaner), and as it dries down, the mint and vanilla become noticeable, recalling the DNA of Jean Paul Gaultier. It’s a pleasant fragrance, suitable for someone in their 40s; it’s a good aromatic-sweet scent for the office as it’s not heavy and very well balanced. I’m in my 30s, so I’ll pass on this one. (Though it doesn’t seem like a bad choice for an adult). PS: I find this Montblanc version infinitely more wearable than the Joop! one.
