Explorer Ultra Blue by Montblanc

Smells very similar to Polo Blue, Nautica Voyage, and Eternity Aqua, reminding me of my old Penguin Premium Blend. It smells rich but lacks punch; with better projection, it would be a summer bomb. I bought it on sale but wouldn’t buy it again. Go for Eternity Aqua instead; it lasts longer and costs less.

Very potent and rich opening, but unfortunately lacks projection and longevity. I’m both happy and furious because it smells delicious but disappears in under an hour.

Good perfume with a fresh, salty, marine opening that later leaves woody notes. A fresh and elegant sensation, easy to wear daily especially in the heat. I wore it above 38 degrees and it performed well, earning me several compliments. For me, it lasts excellently for about seven hours on skin with moderate projection of two to three hours, and on clothes it lasts two days.

Excellent perfume, no complaints. It lasts 7 to 8 hours on skin, highly recommended. I give it 100 out of 100.

A marine fragrance with all the bells and whistles. It reminds me of the ADG line but with a wonderfully salty note; I even feel it leaves a hint of salt on the mouth, very interesting. It’s not versatile, more for intense heat. It will transport you to the beach. That said, you have to pump the trigger hard for it to be noticeable.

I absolutely love it. I heard hundreds of negative reviews calling it boring or flat, but I decided to ignore them and give it a try. It’s fresh, clean, with a spicy peppery touch that gives it a more ‘mature’ vibe; it fills you with energy and vitality. The downside is that the projection, trail, and longevity on skin are weak, although it lasts much longer on clothes. To get through 8 hours at the office, you have to abuse the trigger a bit, around 7 sprays.

I’m not sure if it’s the pink pepper that makes it feel blue, but it’s super versatile, ideal for a suit or a walk by the coast. For the price, it’s not bad; it fulfils the role of a blue fragrance: it’s not annoying, although perhaps it won’t be liked as much as others in its style.

A simple and linear fragrance, but with a brutal impact. Creamy texture, woody, with an oriental touch (perhaps patchouli) and a hint of sea breeze. It inspires respect but also a certain pose; it’s hard to explain. Very 80s sophisticated style. I imagine it on a man with a high socio-economic status who likes to show it off, or perhaps a woman with character. It doesn’t leave people indifferent; it smells exactly what it smells like. I liked it, but I wouldn’t buy it; I don’t find it wearable enough, more for the office. Outside of that, it can feel out of context depending on who wears it and how.

Although it’s not as imposing as the original Explorer (since Ultra Blue and Platinum are flankers), I think it’s a good perfume. It won’t surprise you or leave you speechless, but you will enjoy its scent. It’s masculine, relatively penetrating, and even racy (in a good way). Its trail is linear: it doesn’t evolve much, just intensifies from the subtle, creating an aromatic bubble that you perceive easily, but others find it hard to get close to smell it. I wouldn’t recommend it for men under 30; it’s for mature gentlemen, aged 28 or 29, who wear suits and seek a serious, masculine aesthetic. It can be your signature if you like ‘blue’ scents. It’s a good flanker with its own DNA, fulfilling and durable: more than 6 hours on skin and over 12 on clothes, until it’s trapped between the garments in the wardrobe. Ideal for day and night, especially in winter; in warm climates or if you sweat, it intensifies. It’s a good gift, not excessively expensive (I saw it for $65), accessible to anyone with a job. It’s not overwhelming or cloying. The bottle is beautiful, translucent glass with blue liquid, something many ‘blue’ fragrances ignore. It delights old-school and traditional men; at times, it reminds you of the boy who used his father’s perfume. Extremely ‘hetero’ men will surely love it (laughs).

A blue for a country day, perfect for going with your girlfriend to eat paella or Italian food, with a white shirt and dress trousers. It’s elegant and sober: opens with citrus, moves to a very elegant amber, and the quality of the notes is noticeable, settling into woody base. It’s for those who like Miyake or Creed, fresh things. It doesn’t fail, buy blind. It’s an all-rounder. You’ll like it. Longevity around 6 hours, moderate to intimate trail.

Adds nothing new, but I absolutely love it. It’s super versatile and easy to wear, perfect for day, spring, and summer. Very pleasant. Lucky to have it last more than 8 hours on my skin. I recommend it if you’re looking for something versatile that smells great.

I gave it to my husband for daily wear and we both adored it. Smells like a freshly showered man, even in summer. The bergamot opens strong before yielding to a fresh marine note with a woody base. He wore it to sleep without being intrusive; I even got complimented on the first day. It could be youthful.

Starts with a smothering pepper and mint; I don’t detect the bergamot or the fruity/aquatic notes, and it finishes herbal with that synthetic ambroxan that my wife hates. It doesn’t seem like Invictus, but as soon as I sprayed it, it reminded me of it. DO NOT recommend buying it blindly! There are better similar scents at a better price. Try it first.

It joins the blue fragrances. I haven’t tried the original Explorer, but from what I’ve read, it differs significantly. Poor projection, moderate sillage, and 4-5 hours in the heat. It’s fresh without much personality, with a well-defined citrus-marine accord. The ‘Ultra Blue’ in the name doesn’t do the product justice.

They let me try it as a sample yesterday out of curiosity. Very rich, citrusy, and fruity aroma, but the intensity, longevity, and sillage are non-existent.
