Infinite LOVE is very interesting. To me, it is totally unisex, not feminine at all. I don’t know if it’s down to the skin, but it smells more of floral balsamic and animalic notes than fresh aquatic ones. The freshness reminds me more of the airy, soapy aldehydes than of water. I like how it evolves: at first fresh and greeny, almost like cut grass, but as it dries and merges with the skin it changes, recalling Maai from Bogue Profumo or Mandará from Parfums Prissana. It is softer and easier to wear than those. Clearly, the flowers stand out, and what I struggle with is the tropical or fruity touch. The papaya smells faint and I don’t know how its essence works in perfumery; besides, it has dirty and animalic nuances which might explain my sensation. It is one of my favourites from Almah and the one I would most like to buy. Perhaps not to receive compliments, but certainly an addictive scent for sniffing my own wrists. Scent: 8.5, Longevity: 8, Projection: 6, Value for money: 6, Versatility: 7, Originality: 9, Overall: 8.5.
This isn’t perfume. Imagine winning a voucher for an oriental massage: refined ambience, soft music, flowers, the very Eden, almond-eyed girls and curiosity about tuina. You arrive and it’s not like that; something tells you not to enter, but the gift is a gift so you dare. You descend poorly lit stairs and suspicions are confirmed: it’s a den smelling of discounted tiger balm, flowers macerated in a poorly ventilated space, balsamic mentholated sweat and camphor. There’s no expected oriental sweetness. In the gloom, a 120 kg colossus in a shower towel seems to approach and you decide to climb back up quickly to finish the trauma. If you want to repel someone, this is the perfect perfume. A rather unpleasant potion, do not buy blind. I don’t understand the utility; barely decent in the end.
I’m not sure if it’s the fruity mix with the aquatic notes, but something simply doesn’t sit right with me. It’s interesting for being different and smelling unlike anything I know, but it has a touch of new plastic doll that I can’t get past. I’m not sure if I’ll give it another chance.
An interesting yet rare and challenging proposal for my nose. Something just doesn’t quite click; it was one of the first in the discovery kit and I’m finding it hard to wear. I enjoy rare scents, but I’m not sure I’ll stick with it. I’ll keep testing it, but I suspect the blend of papaya and red fruits is what’s throwing me off.
A distinct EDP from Jordi Magrans: powerful opening, but it truly shines once dried. It’s a wild floral, not powdery, with a sweetness and tartness from red fruits, cloves and vetiver that balance everything to let the papaya take centre stage. Few fragrances feature this note with such intensity and naturalness, thanks to the 80-90% real ingredients and Almah maceration. It lasts and projects without losing its essence. I perceive it as unisex-feminine and it suits me well. Projection: 1 metre, longevity: 12 hours.
