  An ode to the generic. David Beckham Instinct Sport smells more mainstream than its parent fragrance, which did aim at a more mature audience. This flanker suits both teenagers and middle-aged individuals alike. The opening is slightly alcoholic and reminiscent of any cheap men’s spray deodorant, those that don’t even hint at what they smell like. I immediately detect a hint of orange with an oceanic and aquatic base. In the mid-stage, the scent sweetens and approaches the fruity aroma of a bright, waxed red apple. Sometimes I can faintly distinguish slight reminiscences of Hugo Boss’s Boss in Motion. This juicy, fruity scent with a touch of acidity persists until the very end. Despite my unenthusiastic review, it hasn’t displeased me. It’s a synthetic aroma that oscillates between fruity and oceanic notes, very handy when you don’t know what to wear. It’s not unpleasant, and lately I’ve been surprised to find myself reaching for it frequently; in fact, I haven’t stopped using it since I bought it. DV Instinct Sport is a versatile scent that doesn’t invent anything but doesn’t deceive anyone either.
