  A first-class oriental woody fragrance. Its liturgical incense is of incredible quality. Although it dominates the composition, the result is an exotic, luxurious perfume. Ideal for men who know how to use it with moderation.

  Larmes du Desert opens with dry, spiced incense over wood. As time passes, benzoin takes over with its subtle vanilla notes. Eventually, the scent stabilises, keeping the balsamic base and a touch of sweet benzoin. The incense is soft and well-integrated, avoiding that overly liturgical feel found in other perfumes. Performance is moderate: it lasts quite a while but at a low profile. I’ve tried it twice; the first time it was barely noticeable, though with more applications and less cold it improves slightly. It lacks power, so I see it as a men’s fragrance for between 15 and 25 degrees, ideal for spring or autumn. I like the scent and it’s well-made, though there are other incense-based fragrances I adore more. It’s pleasant, but with more projection it would have been an easy buy at its price. Being so soft, I’d rather look elsewhere.

As it dries, it smells almost the same as at the start, adding that balsamic and sweet touch of benzoin. The incense is soft and well-blended, without giving that strong religious sensation found in other perfumes. Average performance: it lasts hours but at a low profile. I’ve used it twice; the first time it was almost inaudible, although with more applications and less cold it improves somewhat. It lacks power. I see it as a men’s fragrance for between 15 and 25 degrees, perfect for spring or autumn. I like the scent and it’s well-made, though there are other incense-based fragrances I prefer. It’s pleasant, but with more projection it would have been an easy purchase at its price. Being so soft, I’d rather search for something else.
