  It’s a work of art, a dark perfume, an ancestral take, a relic of an offering to the Maya (in my imagination), like standing in a dark forest full of cocoa; it smells of traditionally ground cocoa, not the amateur version with added sugars. Only two notes are listed, but I detect licorice-anise, something sweet, spices. Marie Salamagne has outdone herself again. Obviously, it’s not for blind buying. It’s not gourmand; on my skin, I notice it after 10 hours. It’s not cheap, but it was worth every penny.

  Intriguing, a warm spiced scent with all the gusto, well-made, defined, potent, and intoxicating. Totally unisex. This cocoa doesn’t beat around the bush.

  What a pity the outrageous price; over $260 is madness. Low projection and acceptable longevity, but what an intriguing, charming, and magical scent. Supremely sensual, the cardamom does the heavy lifting and adds warmth, swirling around a dusted cocoa that rests on what I believe is a sweet patchouli; it amplifies the cocoa and makes the dry-down drier, less dusty. I found a partial at a fair price that will soon be leaving my hands for a friend who absolutely loved it. If it cost half as much, buy with confidence, but at this price… not in a million years.
