The African Drummer by Lattafa is a very good dupe of this best-selling perfume. A very good dupe.
I have a memorable aura of Zara and have tried Fame by Paco Rabanne several times, and I must say the dry-downs are identical. I was quite surprised when I moved on to try Alien and, after a few hours, I felt I recognised the scent… in seconds I remembered those perfumes I mentioned at the start. I don’t feel it’s a Wow perfume for the price.
I get a literal scent of Hawaiian Tropic bronzer, but that’s what I love. When I apply it, I’m transported to the beach, to the sea, to being tanned, and that’s my favourite place and season 😍.
Nothing more and nothing less than Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen (to be precise) and the beach, but that at least doesn’t make it bad for me; it’s a simple but delicious scent. I don’t smell much coconut in itself, but I assume that creaminess comes from that hidden note along with the vanilla. A must-have for summer, but I use it all year round because I love it 🤎.
What can I say about this perfume? Well, honestly, it’s not very complex… it smells of pure creamy coconut with vanilla. There’s not much to it, yet it’s lovely. It’s VERY heavy; I don’t understand those people who say it doesn’t last or isn’t noticeable… is it a joke? I have to apply a small amount or I get dizzy, or I overwhelm the whole place. It’s potent, like any Mugler. As for the season? I don’t see it for a 40°C summer. As I said, it’s very creamy and heavy. It’s not fresh at all. I use it all year round, being careful with the sprays. It’s very beautiful, but don’t forget it’s pure coconut.
Damn jasmine that I can’t stand, but at least when the jasmine has had enough, the coconut scent really comes through.
Meh, the fragrance is pleasant but didn’t seem anything special (and certainly not for the price in Argentina). I wouldn’t buy it myself, but if someone gifted it to me, I suppose I would use it, haha.
I heard it in the dry-down and fell in love, so I bought it as soon as I could. However, when I first used it, there was no trace of what I heard, just a fleeting coconut that turned into salty mango and disappeared in two hours, smelling only of sweet sweat. I let it rest for a few months to give it another chance, and finally, that dry-down emerged: a creamy coconut with a floral and powdery base that I adore. Now it projects and lasts like a beast. It’s simple but charming, feminine, and suitable for any occasion. I love it, but I would only buy it again if I find it at a good price, as there are others that do the same for less.
What a perfume! Although it doesn’t resemble the classic (which blew my mind), it’s a wonder. It’s super vanilla-scented, sweet, and the coconut is very noticeable. It sounds super sophisticated, elegant, and summery; I can imagine it in a luxury hotel in the Caribbean. What disappointed me is that it lasts only a few hours and leaves almost no trail, which is very strange coming from Mugler.
Honestly, I trusted this perfume more. I bought it for the coconut note and it didn’t disappoint: it’s a creamy coconut, nothing like those generic supermarket versions, but rather something elegant and sophisticated. As it dries down, the vanilla and cashmere make it feel powdery and very sweet, but watch out: it’s not for indoors or excessive heat. Perhaps for a beach trip it would be a 10. The projection is minimal, only noticeable up close, and the longevity is weak, lasting no more than three hours.
I bought it blind a week ago looking for something for this summer. It’s delicious and very addictive, though I expected it to be more intense. Precisely because of that, it leaves you wanting more. It lasts for hours, but the trail leaves much to be desired. It’s more for personal enjoyment, something shy. I expected it to be for night, but it’s more for day. Anyway, it’s an excellent fragrance. The coconut stands out, followed by jasmine and bergamot, all superbly balanced.
To me, it smells like sunscreen but with a sweet touch. I can’t explain it any better.
It’s simply beautiful! I’m not a gourmand with vanilla, but this stole my heart. I love wearing it during the day; it has a good balance between vanilla and coconut, isn’t cloying, and lasts quite a while on me.
It’s delicious: vanilla, coconut, a floral touch, and very summery. It smells like Hawaiian Tropic, but with better quality and longevity. It’s okay; it’s a safe bet for summer. Now, $125 to smell like coconut is absurd. For that money, there are more complex fragrances. In Argentina, Cher Onyx Delight exists, it’s almost identical, and costs around $35; I wouldn’t spend more just to smell sweet in summer.
It’s feminine, solar, creamy, and sweet in just the right measure. I confess that years ago, on paper, I smelled more coconut and it reminded me of Hawaiian Tropic, thank goodness that didn’t happen. Alien Goddess is a sophisticated gem, soft yet long-lasting. For me, a 10/10 all round.
I’m sad because I’m paying for this and Cher Onyx Delight has come out, which is identical. I sprayed it over mine and there’s no difference, only in longevity. It’s a beautiful perfume, but I don’t feel it’s worth the price; it lacks complexity. I wouldn’t buy it again.
I think I might be the only one who notices it’s very similar to Burberry’s Goddess… I love it.
It’s like luxury coconut cream; I adore it in summer, it lasts well and projects a lot. I love it 🙂
To be honest, I was going to grab a dupe but went for the deal headfirst. I like it; it’s less sweet than the original and smells like sunscreen, 100% summer vibes. It’s still going after 8 hours. The dry-down didn’t quite convince me, but the settling did. If you ask me coldly if I’d buy it again, I’d say no; there are better inspirations out there, and I’d spend the money on the Alien flankers instead.
I LOVE IT!!!! Obviously, it depends on the skin, but in my case, it lasts for hours. I regret buying only 30ml because I’d use it every single day.
I’ve just discovered this perfume and I’m absolutely in love. At first, I detect coconut, notes of passion fruit and mango which, although not listed in the ingredients, are very present. I sense the vanilla, but it’s not intense; it’s well integrated. There’s a touch of cashmere, giving an elegant, slightly masculine base. I pick up on the jasmine, though it’s not dominant. It’s so aromatically complex and very feminine… it has become one of my favourites.
The best perfume I have ever tried.
A pleasant fragrance; on my skin it smells like vanilla and coconut lotion or hair conditioner (in a good way). The trail is light, so I need to reapply after four hours. I think it would make a great gift for someone who enjoys soft, clean, slightly sweet scents; it’s perfect for warm weather.
At first, it smells strongly of sweet coconut and vanilla; as it dries down, the jasmine and heliotrope become noticeable. It gives a beachy vibe, which I love for hot days and trips to the seaside, smelling like expensive suntan lotion. It doesn’t last very long, only about three hours. I like layering it with VS’s coconut fragrances and creams. It’s my go-to beach perfume. Edit: it has nothing of the original Alien’s DNA, the purple one; it went off in a different direction and lacks that artificial jasmine from the purple Alien.
Smells great of coconut and vanilla. Low projection and lasts about three hours. On my skin, I have to reapply.
The scent is rich, but the longevity and sillage are very poor. I bought it to pair with my sunscreen and coconut hair oil. It blends perfectly without smelling like sunscreen, evoking salty coconut with vanilla – ideal for spring and summer. To reiterate: it’s lovely, I’ll definitely buy it again, but you’ll need to reapply every four hours.
The perfume of a Greek goddess, elegant and with its own life. Floral, solar, luminous, sweet and vanilla, with nuances that unfold from start to finish.
Smells like Hawaiian Tropic, the nude bottle with the brown cap. Perfect for summer, it’s like putting on sunscreen at the beach.
On my skin it smells vanilla-like and heliotrope peeks out occasionally; the coconut water is super subtle, you know it’s there but it doesn’t overwhelm. It’s a creamy perfume, sweet but not cloying. On me it’s not invasive and I think it’s a good option if you’re overstimulated by fragrances.
A definite summer scent. If you shower with coconut products, it smells like sunscreen. I use it with Cheirosa 62 and Tease Cloud; it projects massively and everyone says it smells like the beach. I need it for summer. It lasts about six hours and I would always buy it again.
It smells like vanilla and coconut sunscreen, far too cloying for my taste. Be careful with the sprays; in the heat, it gives me a headache.
I’d like to buy this perfume. I tested it weeks ago and was surprised, although I had another expectation. Searching for perfumes with coconut, this appears on almost all lists and yes, it has it, but it’s not a sweet dessert-type coconut as I thought. It’s sweet, although freshness predominates: it conveys more summer, sea, beach and sand. Its longevity is incredible (I still have the sample paper and it still smells). It’s sophisticated, cheerful and elegant. It’s not in my top as I prefer gourmand scents, but there’s no loss with this fragrance.
Undoubtedly it smells good, but in my opinion it’s not a very special fragrance. It’s ideal for summer, sweet but not cloying. Unfortunately, although it’s pleasant, I think it goes unnoticed 🙁 It might be interesting to layer it with other perfumes; I read they layered it with Cheirosa 62 and it suits me very much.
I bought it without testing it, trusting it would smell like sunscreen. On me it has no coconut or vanilla 😥, there’s something green or salty that gives me nausea, I don’t know what it is. What a pity, I wanted something sweet and summery.
I bought it blind… Practically my favourite sport 😂. I was between this and the classic Alien, as summer was approaching and the reviews… I bought it. This was a year ago. The perfume is harmonious but says nothing. Neither summer, nor night, nor day. Especially because it’s not cheap. Can you smell the coconut? Yes, mixed with vanilla it has presence, but it goes as it comes. My longevity is terrible, no protection at all. Nevertheless, after a year the fragrance is still the same. Who could like it? Younger girls who harmonise with simple fragrances.
I thought this flanker of the original Alien would be incredible, but the only notes I detect are coconut water and vanilla, barely. I only sensed them for a moment, and afterwards just litres of alcohol.
It’s a good vanilla fragrance, but to be honest, Angham and Tharwha from Lattafa give it a kick. But if you’re looking for brand and label, then buy it.
I find it a bit too sweet, with soft vanilla and a creamy coconut. It’s perfect for summer as it’s not bothersome, with a soft yet noticeable trail.
It’s a creamy coconut fragrance, very tropical, transporting you to summer on the beach with a sunscreen scent. I don’t notice the vanilla much; I would have liked that note more. It’s gorgeous with divine quality, but I don’t feel it projects or lasts long. It’s more for personal enjoyment rather than being beastly. I’d use it in spring and summer; I can’t see myself wearing it in winter as it’s so tropical I imagine it as very beachy. If you’re looking for creamy coconut, it’s here, don’t search for something beastly. But I love having it in my collection.
What a cool perfume, I absolutely adore it. Ideal for everyday wear and perfect for gifting as it’s super feminine without being overpowering. Smells like lovely coconut with bourbon vanilla, which is sweet but not dessert-like. Although it’s soft, it lasts all day on clothes; on skin it doesn’t last as long for me, but that’s my issue as almost nothing lasts on my skin. The golden bottle is beautiful and refillable. I recommend it for any season. The seller said it smells like beach sunscreen, but I don’t notice that, probably because of the coconut. The Intense version smells very different, more sharp and less pleasant.
