This perfume is one of those you love or hate, with no middle ground, a creation by Pierre Guillaume. From the first spray, amber and musk take centre stage. The amber is strong, resinous, with a soft sweetness; it’s lighter than Serge Lutens’ Ambre Sultan and less smoky than Rania J.’s Ambre Loup. It feels warm and cosy thanks to the musks, which blend beautifully with the amber. It’s quite animalic, but not dirty; it smells like feline skin, warm and velvety, with a resinous and sweet touch. In the mid-stage, the amber and musk remain, accompanied by a smoky, earthy, woody patchouli. The amber and musk dominate until the end. Try it, don’t buy it blindly. It’s a great alternative to other ambers, with a sexy touch that impresses.
L’Ombre Fauve is one of those perfumes you either adore or detest, with no middle ground, a creation by Pierre Guillaume. From the first spray, amber and musk lead the experience. The amber is very present, resinous, with a subtle sweetness; it’s lighter than Serge Lutens’ Ambre Sultan and less smoky than Rania J.’s Ambre Loup. It feels warm and cosy as the musks integrate masterfully. It’s quite animalic: it doesn’t smell dirty, but rather like feline skin, warm and velvety, with a resinous and sweet touch from the amber. In the mid-stage, those notes persist, joined by a smoky, earthy, woody patchouli. The amber and musk linger until the end. Try it, never buy it blindly. It’s an excellent alternative to other ambers, with a sexy touch that won’t leave anyone indifferent.
L’Ombre Fauve is one of the most reputable perfumes from the brand, for good reason. It is one of the finest combinations of amber, patchouli, and incense that exist. To my nose, it’s deep, dark, sometimes dusty, at other times incense-like and earthy. The musk appears intermittently with an animal air, almost like a feline’s fur, just as SergioAC said. It’s more masculine, ideal for cold weather and semi-formal or smarter looks, with good performance. I’m not a fan of the style, but the quality is excellent: few notes, but all at maximum. Rating: 7.5/10

To me, patchouli is the star here, wrapped in amber and incense. Warm, earthy, with that dusty touch others mention. Upon spraying, it reminded me of the end of Mugler’s A*men… they aren’t identical, but the similarity is clear. It smells serious and mature; if you like patchouli, give this a try.
