The listed notes aren’t the only ones; they don’t feel at the start but emerge as it develops. It begins with a soft grapefruit, juniper, and that typical watery calone sensation found in Tommys. As it develops, patchouli appears, while the rose is barely noticeable. In the dry-down, there’s a soft patchouli, perhaps vetiver or woods. It’s youthful and versatile for all seasons due to its fresh yet dense notes. Longevity is very prolonged, over 12 hours, but closer to the skin with a moderate trail. It’s the longest-lasting Tommy I’ve tried. It’s not bad, but it’s not memorable, and for the price, there are better options.

  • This Tommy is a real surprise; it’s beastly long-lasting, sticking around all day and even detectable on laundered clothes. The scent isn’t bad, but it doesn’t evolve; it stays the same from start to finish, only losing intensity. I received many compliments at school; the girls said it smelled irresistible. It’s exquisite for them and tremendously long-lasting. I recommend it; you’ll surely get many compliments.

  • I was absolutely blown away by this Tommy – it’s a beast in terms of longevity, noticeable all day and even smells amazing on washed clothes. The scent isn’t bad, but it doesn’t evolve; it stays the same from start to finish as the intensity fades. Despite that, I’ve received countless compliments at school; girls tell me I smell irresistible but won’t let me reveal the name. If you’re looking for something that lasts forever and that girls adore, I recommend it – you’ll be full of praise. Best wishes.

  • Young girls are fascinated by it, perhaps due to a childhood memory of a feminine fragrance. It’s a great option to impress a girl. It lasts quite a while and has a very sensual rose scent. I even think a girl could wear it. It’s brilliant.

  • A grand perfume that says more than its notes suggest. The balance is excellent and denotes an imposing elegance and sobriety. Judging by the scent, I wouldn’t think it was by Tommy Hilfiger; it’s very elegant. Longevity and projection are good.

  • This was a rock perfume! It opens with a pure, fresh, or citrusy patchouli. Then the rose joins, sweet and sturdy in the heart. It closes with those notes and a hint of tobacco. Good trail and longevity. I don’t understand why they discontinued it; it was a serious fragrance.

  • This was a proper rock perfume! It opens with pure patchouli that smells fresh and citrusy. Then the rose joins in, sweet yet tough in the dry down. It finishes with those notes and a hint of tobacco. Great trail and longevity. I don’t understand why they discontinued it, as it was a serious fragrance.

  • TH’s Loud has an incredible heritage: created by Aurelien Guichard and Yann Vasnier from the Givaudan laboratory. Unfortunately, this olfactory gem was a victim of terrible marketing that failed to grasp its essence. The filtered rose over patchouli and tobacco creates a linear but beautiful fragrance, very unisex. It shines in fresh or cold climates, projecting cleanliness and youthful sophistication. Perfect for rainy afternoons, dinners, or formal events without the heat. Never for raves. The youth rejected it, and the marketing killed it. Mr Hilfiger should be weeping. Elegant and with soul, I buy it wherever I can find it.

A rose balm that doesn’t overpower, perfect for a white shirt and jeans with trainers. Someone looking to go out relaxed will notice that fresh, ‘damp’ scent that brings a sense of calm. Balsamic softness with medium longevity, about 12 sprays on skin and clothes.

I still have a few millilitres of the small version I bought blindly. I’ve never seen a perfume so basic and yet so effective. It’s true what people above say about something that comes out of the ‘Tommy’ mould. Just patchouli and roses… that’s what my basic nose smells, yet it fills the space. It doesn’t overpower those around me, but it is noticeable. On my skin, I felt the patchouli for about 2 or 3 hours, then it shifted to roses, noticeable within a metre or less. On my skin, it lasts strongly for about 5 hours, and then close to the skin it lingers for many more hours, perhaps 10. I’m a bassist and I wore it several times to play in small bars; the girls like it, especially those under 30. I would buy it again, but I like to try other options and this is discontinued so it’s hard to find.

I have a few millilitres left of that small version I bought blind. I’d never seen a perfume so basic in aroma yet so effective. It’s true what people above say, it smells like Tommy: just patchouli and roses. It doesn’t overpower those around me, but it’s noticeable. On my skin, the patchouli lasted about 2 or 3 hours, then the roses are detectable at a metre away. With strong projection it lasts around 5 hours, then close to the skin it lingers much longer, perhaps 10. I’m a bassist and wore it several times to play in bars; girls like it, especially those under 30. I’d buy it again, though I enjoy trying other options, and this one is already discontinued.

  • I bought this blindly based on reviews on this website and I’ve really liked it. It’s a very soft scent; the rose and patchouli are clearly noticeable. It reminds me of the aroma of a rose jam that then settles into a soft tobacco sensation. Longevity is moderate and the sillage stays very close to the skin, but it’s worth trying.

Loud means noisy and boisterous. It launched with ambitious advertising: ‘Live out loud’. The bottle looked like a speaker about to burst; everything was party, rave, and electronic music. I expected the worst: something brash like Axe. But upon application, I found romantic roses, mysterious patchouli, and aromatic tobacco. It evoked a Victorian dandy rather than sex and rock. I liked it; it reminded me of classic feminine scents like Midnight Poison, but it was monotonous and nothing like ‘noisy’. It was a failure: the scent scared off the youth and the advertising alienated adults. It was like offering Earl Grey tea in a Coca-Cola. It proved too adult for its target. Worth it if you like roses and patchouli. Longevity 7 hours, moderate trail.

Loud means noisy, bustling, eye-catching. This perfume launched with ambitious advertising: ‘Live out loud’. I was given a paper sample featuring a young model; when you removed the plastic covering her mouth, it emitted the ‘sound’ and the scent. The bottle mimicked an exploding speaker with sound waves in the glass. Everything screamed party, rave, club, electronic music, and DJs. With that promo, I expected the worst: something generic and brash like Axe or an attempt at One Million. I put it on my wrist and what happened? Romantic roses, mysterious patchouli, and tobacco leaves. Instead of sex, drugs, and rock, it conjured up a cloying Victorian dandy in my mind. And I loved it! It resembled classic feminine fragrances like Midnight Poison or Coco Mademoiselle: simple, old-fashioned, romantic, and formal. But for that very reason, it was monotonous and not ‘loud’ at all. It was a total failure! The scent scared off the youth and the advertising bored the adults; it was like offering Earl Grey tea in a Coca-Cola bottle. The youthful fragrance turned out to be adult and boring. I’ve seen it in perfumeries and online at a good price; if you like roses with patchouli, it’s worth a try. Longevity 7 hours, moderate sillage.

  • I bought this blindly on Amazon; I don’t think they sell it in big stores here anymore. It smells fantastic, very masculine and minimalist. It starts with a light patchouli and potent roses, slightly feminine, but after five minutes the patchouli takes over and the roses fade to the background (the best part). The tobacco note is there but almost imperceptible. The problem is it leaves no trail; after an hour or two, no one notices it, which doesn’t suit me. At 23, I feel it’s for older people, probably because of the patchouli. It’s true that with the bottle and advertising it looks modern and rebellious, which is what I was looking for, but in the end, it’s not for me.

  • A different perfume; I can see the reason for its creation: the bottle is shaped like a vinyl record. Unfortunately, it does not have good fixity compared to the others I own, but I like the fragrance. The patchouli and tobacco give it a dark character.

  • A good perfume for teenagers, very much in the TH style. I wore it in 2010; an exquisite aroma. It is not a fragrance to repeat, and in my humble opinion, no Tommy Hilfiger scent deserves repeating because I know them well: they are synthetic and flat. Most are fresh but not innovative, made for mass production. American perfumes (not all) lack that elegance and distinction found in European ones; that is what I perceive.

  • Masterpieces that, sadly, remain in the shadows. An exquisite scent walking the unisex border: if a man wears it, it reflects his masculinity; if a woman wears it, it reveals her mystique in a subtle, feminine way. It is simply a work of art; if a man and a woman wear it together, they smell different, as if the fragrance works differently depending on who wears it. It is extraordinary. I cannot fathom why it hasn’t achieved the success it deserves. A truly beautiful scent. Scent: 9.0. Moderate projection. Longevity: 8 hours, projecting strongly for the first 3. Recommended.

  • I wore it in high school and can’t recall its projection, but it smelled wonderful. I only bought it once because back then my favourite was Paris Hilton’s, which I still wear in spring and summer.

When I first tried it, it smelled like the rebellious teenage rock star – pure rock’n’roll with roses, sweat and alcohol, sexy and irreverent in a very cool bottle. It didn’t last long on me, but I carried it everywhere and used up many bottles because I loved it. Less than a month ago, driven by nostalgia for nearly twelve years ago, I got my hands on it again and was surprised: I felt that uncontrollable urge to wear it once more. It’s delicious; not sophisticated, but a scent that makes you want to put on your jacket and smoke a couple of cigarettes. It evokes that bad boy who wanted to smell good for himself and for girls, without any explanations. My ex adored it and sometimes applied it herself; it made her look very sexy. That it doesn’t have so much fuss and is far removed from what the brand uses today is a pleasure; I give it extra points for being in the shadows, as almost no one remembers or talks about it.
