This fragrance has incredible hype for what it is, and I still don’t understand the high ratings. To put it bluntly, it’s more similar to Drunk Lovers than to Rossendo Mateo No. 5… It’s a synthetic vanilla that doesn’t have much sillage, and it’s certainly not a Beast Mode in terms of longevity. Maybe I just didn’t get it, but I expected much more.
I found it at a great price, but at first, I was disappointed with the scent and longevity; it reminded me of decaffeinated Liquid Brun. After two months of oxidation… it’s a wonder; it’s unrecognisable now. The aldehydic note is now apparent, along with stronger red berries, spices, and sweetness… It’s very rich. I don’t wear it every day, but whenever I put it on, my partner always says something. Longevity is another story now: it lasts quite a while. It doesn’t project wildly, but it has a wide personal bubble that you notice for hours. It clings well to clothes and lasts even longer; on some garments, I can still detect it after several days. Give it a chance to oxidise, and you’ll understand my rating.
Mahd Al Dhahab – Arabiyat Prestige is a fragrance that conveys luxury, warmth, and a distinct oriental character. It has personality, perfect for those who enjoy intense and enveloping scents. From the outset, it feels rich and opulent, with sweet and amber notes that add depth and a sophisticated air. Then come woody and spicy accords that balance the sweetness, creating something elegant and well-constructed without being cloying. It feels dense, creamy, and warm, enveloping and very pleasant. Its greatest strength is longevity; it lasts for hours on the skin with a notable, intense yet elegant sillage, ideal for making an impression without being overwhelming. I consider it perfect for evenings, special occasions, and cold weather. Overall, it’s a very astute choice for anyone seeking an oriental, luxurious scent with good value within the Arabiyat Prestige range.
At first, straight out of the box, it didn’t last more than 15 minutes. I let it settle for a week, and now it’s a beast. It’s one of those sweet fragrances you never get tired of smelling. The atomiser is pressurised and delivers a good stream; one spray on my palm this morning lasted over 8 hours. Without a doubt, it’s my favourite perfume for going out at night.
Sprayed it on my arm more than three times, and to be honest, after 20 minutes there was nothing left. I don’t get the hype; if you like sweet scents, it might be for you, but for me, it’s not worth it.
