It’s hard to talk about this fragrance without thinking of VIW; they’re not the same, but the resemblance is there. In my opinion, the Creed one has more quality and is better balanced. But for those who don’t want to pay those prices or want something more striking, Malibú is a very good option. What do we find here? An opening with a very potent lime that gives you an energy boost, followed by sugar, rum and coconut. A cocktail, nothing more or less. All this rests on a creamy woody base. Cheerful, informal, for day and heat. Put on your sunglasses, your summer shirt and pull the trigger.

Today was a lovely summer day, ideal for enjoying this delight called Malibú Party in the Bay. It has a tropical part with coconut and rum, and a slight citrus touch, just as if you were having a cocktail by the seaside. It’s an addictive, cheerful scent, full of vitality and good vibes. It has an air of familiarity with Virgin Island Water without being the same; to me personally, MPITB seems of higher quality and is also much less costly (less than half). It stands out in performance: the first 2-3 hours bring you waves of scent and then it fades, lasting 10h on skin. And there’s more: it soaks into clothes so well that the next day, with the room ventilated and the t-shirt on the chair, I walked in and smelled MPITB. Besides, with that sweet and citrusy part (though slight), it’s usable in mild seasons (another thing is that that summery vibe doesn’t call for wearing it out of season). For now, all that’s left is to close your eyes, hold the cocktail in your hand and inhale the scent. Au revoir.

The occasional reader will find more technical reviews later. This comment is just my experience. Malibú Party in the Bay could be the chorus of a catchy song, the title of a love poem, or an excuse to brighten a weekend, but here it is the promise of something different, more attitudinal. Its scent is festive, oozes sweetness and has a liquorish base full of aplomb. It conveys that jovial uninhibition to approach the other side of the bar and let the magic unfold. It suits the heat perfectly and although it’s daytime wear, it fits perfectly with a well-accompanied sunset. It pairs with a linen shirt with two buttons undone and sleeves rolled up. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing bermudas or chino trousers; it’s a scent that adds sophistication and closeness equally. As it evolves, it maintains that ethereal touch that invites you to get to know me. Everything else depends on you. Good luck, gentlemen!

  • The quintessential summer fragrance! It opens with freshly squeezed green lemon, delicious, potent, and pleasant, accompanied by some green aromatic herbs, like lemon balm. It evokes a lemon with salt (more so than with the sugar it declares) being used to prepare a summer cocktail. Instead of rum, I associate it more with a Gin Tonic: acidic, fresh, cold, with lemon balm and coconut water. It’s scrumptious, completely unisex, with spectacular performance. It is true that it resembles Still Life in Rio quite a bit, but I like this one, Malibu, much more; it’s more balanced, special, and long-lasting.

A delight, what a delight. Very natural lime opening with coconut; one spray and the room smells good, decent projection and longevity. I’ll tell you about the evolution and the rum part to see how it goes… Similar to VIW? For now, 95%.

  • Facing the heat, I was looking for something summery and fun like Virgin Island Water by Creed, but given the price and performance, I opted for a sample of this Malibu Party in the Bay. It delivers on its promise: a tropical and cheerful scent very similar to Creed’s, though to be honest, it has left me a bit cold. The notes are of good quality, nothing synthetic or plasticky, and the composition is well put together. The opening is refreshing, as if squeezing lime violently over brown sugar; a burst of sugared lime. Then comes a more fruity than woody coconut that adds air, with a surprising aldehydic tone that blends with a soft rum masked by dry sandalwood. Performance is moderate; it doesn’t stand out in longevity or projection and fades to skin level in minutes, which is disappointing. It’s not groundbreaking if you know the Creed original, so for all these reasons, it has left me cold, especially regarding the price, although being niche and with the quantity it offers, some might say it’s worth it. Ideal for summer, more for night than day, casual rather than formal; I’m sure it will delight tropical lovers. In my case, it stays as a sample, but it’s highly recommended, cheerful, and radiates good vibes and joy.

  • With the good weather here and summer on the way, everyone is looking for a summery and fun scent. One of the first that comes to mind is Virgin Island Water by Creed, but due to the price and questionable performance, I sought an alternative and ended up here. That was my route, although it’s not cheap either and I decided to try it with a considerable sample. The truth is, it delivers what it promises. A tropical and fun scent that bears a strong resemblance to Creed, but it has left me a little cold. The notes are of good quality, nothing synthetic or plastic, well-assembled composition. The opening is refreshing, the lime explodes as if squeezed violently over brown sugar. Then comes a more fruity than woody coconut that gives it ‘air’, with an aldehydic tone that surprised me, combining with a soft rum tone overshadowed by sandalwood. Performance is moderate; it doesn’t stand out in longevity or projection and I’m left with it in minutes, although it stretches close to the skin. It’s not groundbreaking if you know Creed, so it disappointed me a little, especially regarding the price, although being niche and with the quantity it comes in, many will say it’s cost-effective. Ideal for summer, more evening than daytime, casual rather than formal. I’m sure it will delight lovers of the tropical. In my case, it stays in the sample, but it’s highly recommended, it has a good vibe and brings joy.

This is a divine delight, a proper summer perfume. I am completely in love with this scent.

Gentlemen, I have to admit: if I were to choose my favourite fragrance, it would be The Moon by Frederic Malle, but if I could choose two, I’d say Malibú Party in the Bay. It’s madness how much I love it; it’s like pouring a bottle of happiness on myself. It smells so good it brings joy. My go-to for hot days when I want to feel cheerful. Rich coconut, sparkling lemon, a light touch of rum and sugar just right. A Molotov cocktail of happiness. I’m not saying it’s not objectively better in terms of ingredients or longevity than others, but subjectively I rank it at the top. My top 2 all the time. Longevity 8h, sillage 1m, fair price. A total beauty. Please never discontinue it.

  • I bought it second-hand blind; the smell pleased me, but I felt it didn’t last, so I put it aside and applied it months later… What a blast of lime, coconut, and sugar on clothes that last forever, and slightly less on skin. The price is a little high, but it never fails in summer; I’ll buy it again if they don’t reformulate it, one of my summer favourites.

  • I picked this up second-hand blind and the scent hit me immediately, though at first I thought it didn’t last. I left it forgotten and tried it again months later… what a lime, coconut and sugar bomb! It’s eternal on clothes and a little less so on skin. The price is a bit high, but it never fails in summer. I’ll buy it again if they don’t reformulate it; it’s one of my favourites for the heat.

  • This fragrance starts with a bang of fresh lime. Over time it sweetens, leaving a mix of lime, coconut and creamy sandalwood. It has good performance and I only see it for summer.

  • My favourite perfume for summer, especially for summer NIGHTS. It literally smells like a cocktail: lime, coconut, rum… this is perfect for watching the sunset on a beach terrace, for going out for a drink with friends… anything related to holidays suits it perfectly. It has great performance; it lasts days on clothes; with the heat it activates and the bursts of that delicious scent return. Without a doubt, one of my favourite perfumes of all I’ve tried, surely it will enter my TOP 3. I have about 5ml left but as soon as I finish them I’ll buy a large bottle, despite the high price; with 3-4 sprays you have enough for 10 hours.

Anything to do with holidays suits it perfectly. It has brilliant performance, lasts days on clothes, with the heat it activates and the bursts of that delicious smell return. Without a doubt one of my favourite perfumes, certainly in my TOP 3. • Jolines, what a perfume bomb, bottled summer. It opens with a fresh lime, slightly sugary, effervescent. Then a creamy coconut appears that mixes with the lime’s acidity and sugar. It’s not like sunscreen, but refreshing and playful, elegant. I’m testing it so I can’t speak about duration and projection yet, but for now the notes are moderate, nothing in best mode. Personally I think it’s unisex leaning feminine, but I wouldn’t mind smelling it on my husband.

  • Victortor

Prominently summery and beachy scent. A bottled daiquiri. Same ingredients. It opens with a lime bomb, sharp, refreshing and concentrated. At first you feel the coconut in the background, which takes centre stage later. It’s a refreshing coconut at the start that becomes a bit creamy when it dries down. The middle and final facets shine with the coconut and an alcoholic tone to give body. It doesn’t feel like a prominent liquor, but attenuated. It’s a powerful, sugary fragrance that screams summer. I haven’t caught its use for my summer, that’s the downside. It’s a good scent that for my lifestyle would give restricted use. But eh, it’s very good. Unisex, performs well and summery. Beach party, but not very formal. Correct price-to-quality ratio, but summer in my mind is something else. Good ode to summer, but depends on whose summer.

  • Ander 333

An original niche perfume for most, very fresh and sparkling, ideal for summer, heat and parties. It’s supposed to resemble Virgin Island Water by Creed which costs double. Having tried both, I stick with Malibú: it’s more carefree, sharp with the lime and more cheerful for summer, while Creed is more elegant and mature. This Malibú has very high perceived quality and, although reformulated and not in best mode, performs very well: long 8 hours, good projection for the first two and then well perceptible in the bubble. An EDP that lives up to its concentration. Totally unisex, it features a rich lime, a bit of rum, subtle coconut and brown sugar with other citrus fruits. It’s expensive and not very versatile, but it’s a great perfume. Ideally they should sell it in 30 or 50ml, but only in 100ml. I’ve tried it with decants from Pafory and for a summer it’s been enough. Imagine a striking and modern Hawaiian shirt that fits you perfectly… calculate how many times you’ll wear it per season and you’ll see the yearly usage. Ideally share the purchase. Salu2

  • TIMO, TIMO, TIMO. If this is what Virgin Island Water by Creed smells like, another great TIMO but more expensive. The opening is lime, lime, lime, lime, lime, and I could go on. It does feel very natural and is pleasant, but for what it costs, I think it’s a scam. I didn’t even feel the typical niche perfume vibe. It seemed like a run-of-the-mill designer scent. Yes, it smells like a cocktail and the beach, but as I read in another review, it depends on which beach. To me, this smells like a chiringuito and that’s it. And as the fragrance dries down, it seems to lean even more towards the feminine side. I don’t see it as very unisex (although yes, it would suit a man too, but it looks better on a woman). It has a base that’s between naive and sassy, the hussy that can’t decide what it wants to project. If you like smelling like a refreshing drink and especially LIME, a very, very loud lime, this is definitely your fragrance. As for me, not this beach. I’m sorry. And not because it’s more feminine than masculine, I clarify. Simply, it’s not the great masterpiece as they present and describe it. If it cost like a designer fragrance, it could be a good option, fun or even for personal enjoyment. But for what it costs, there are better options that knock it out mercilessly.

  • TIMO, TIMO, TIMO. If this smells like Virgin Island Water by Creed, another TIMO but more expensive. The opening is lime, lime, lime… It does feel natural and pleasant, but for the price it seems like a rip-off. It doesn’t even smell niche, it seems like a run-of-the-mill designer. It smells like a cocktail and the beach, but a chiringuito beach. When it dries down it seems to lean more towards the feminine side. I don’t see it as very unisex (although it would suit a man, better on a woman). It has a base that’s between naive and sassy, hussy that can’t decide. If you like to smell like a refreshing drink and very brash lime, it’s your fragrance. I’m not going to this beach. It’s not the masterpiece they present. If it cost as much as a designer it could be fun, but at this price there are better options that knock it out.

  • jorge.guadarrama

From the very first moment, it welcomes you with a fresh and tropical mix of fruits that makes you think of cocktails under the sun. Pineapple and coconut notes dominate, giving it that sweet and carefree touch. Over time it softens, leaving a creamier scent that accompanies you for several hours, although it’s not one of the longest-lasting. It’s perfect for casual days or outdoor parties due to its beachy vibe. If you like fruity and cheerful scents, it’s a good option for the heat.

  • A strong lime opening, which I actually like because it’s citrus-based. Then it relaxes and the other notes appear, giving a similarity to a cocktail and sunscreen. To me it’s unisex, although at certain moments, when the coconut comes through, it gives a feminine twist. Pleasant and easy-to-wear scent, but not a head-turner. Performance is soft in my case (excluding the initial lime phase which is noticeable). They say they’ve reformulated it recently.

  • Greetings Nneestorr, thanks for the info because Simone Andreoli isn’t on Check Fresh. My batch is 0524, so it would be May 2024. I don’t question your perception, but based on my previous experiences and this one, it lasts and projects quite a bit, obviously for a fresh summer scent (it’s not Naxos). This specific batch, a lot. It can vary according to the skin, but I don’t think it performs poorly in any. I don’t know if your batch was defective. I say that once the longevity is acceptable, that’s not what I value most; I prioritise the scent. This Malibù gets me through 8 hours without problem and with good projection. Although it only gave 6 hours, I’d consider it good performance for this type of summer fragrance. Salu2.

  • Oye Ander 333, if I’m not mistaken, Andreoli batches are now four digits: month and year. The one I tried, I think from ’23, was a bit weak; I apply it fearlessly on skin and clothes and it barely lasted eight hours. That doesn’t mean it won’t last for you… everyone has their own experience, in the end it’s subjective. Besides, sometimes brands release better or worse batches.

  • Second opinion: a whole bottle arrived at my house. I don’t know which batch I got, but it performs brilliantly. For a fresh/citrus/summery scent, it’s almost in best mode: over 8 hours on skin with sustained projection that forces even the boldest to control the sprays. It leaves an oily touch that, if it gets on your fingers, smells like piña colada all day. I’ve tried several versions, decants from Pafory and now 100ml from January 2025 at Vesira (I doubt it’s a nuclear batch), and I refute the performance criticisms. People go crazy wanting to smell at five metres and last 24 hours like Le Mans. Malibú Party in the Bay remains summery, sparkling, original and cheerful. Top quality and outstanding performance. If the scent suits you, go for it, don’t let yourself be influenced; even reformulated, it performs very well. Salu2

  • Smells like Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro: caipirinha with sunscreen. A cheerful and sparkling perfume. 9/10 exquisite.

  • I bought a Wallapop tester, batch 1124, comparing it with another Malibù backup I have… it loses by a mile. The liquid in my old Malibù is greenish, the new one almost transparent. In scent, I notice more sandalwood in the new one. It smells more floral and performs less; it lasts quite a bit less. It could be a counterfeit or perhaps with years of maceration it improves. Anyway, this perfume will always be in my collection, a delight.

  • andrea.arrata

Initially lots of lime, then it smells of very natural, creamy and slightly sweet coconut: an exquisite coconut lemonade. My batch is from 11/24 and the longevity is excellent, over 8 hours with strong projection for the first 4-5.

  • ChocoChan

Not for me… The lime is hyper-realistic, but too much, to the point of feeling like my teeth are grinding. Although it sounds contradictory, I’m not one of those who likes to ‘smell like lemon’, and seeing other notes I expected a different evolution. Although it then softens and becomes creamier, it remains a lime scent. If you like hyper-realistic citrus, you’ll like it; if you expect other notes to stand out, you won’t find much. I think it’s very well made, but definitely not for me.

  • ChocoChan

It’s not for me… The lime is hyper-realistic, but too much, to the point where I can almost feel my teeth chattering. Although it sounds contradictory, I’m not one of those who likes to ‘smell like lemon’ (to be fair), but seeing there were other notes, I expected another evolution in the perfume, and while the lime softens a bit later and leaves something more creamy, it remains a lime scent. If you like hyper-realistic critics, you’ll like it. If not, and you expect other notes to stand out… well, you won’t find much of that. I think it’s very well made, but definitely not for me.

  • A very good option if you want to avoid Creed’s Virgin Island Water, although the latter is more balanced, with better definition and crisper ingredients, typical of Creed. But, given that it seems they are ruining the VIW, this Malibù works as a perfect substitute. A good purchase in the end.

  • Looking for an alternative to the VIW, I ended up here and have no regrets. It seems like a very good option, especially regarding price and longevity. It opens with a realistic, sharp, juicy lime, very potent for the first 30 minutes; you just smell refreshing lime. Then it drops and stays close to the skin from the 3rd to 4th hour; you have to shower to get rid of it, otherwise it lasts all day. As it dries, it becomes creamy, like sunscreen; the coconut is toned down, not the protagonist. I sense a green note from the toned-down lime, a soft refreshing coconut, a rum-like touch that gives it a cocktail vibe, sugar that sweetens, and sandalwood for body and creaminess. I see it as daytime wear, although it also fits for an evening walk in summer. The difference with Creed’s VIW is noticeable: this one is more refined, elegant and rounded, with more present coconut and less aggressive lime. The Simone Andreoli one is more youthful and playful. What’s the problem with Creed? Its horrible longevity; by half an hour it’s diluted and by an hour there’s nothing left. This Malibù on my skin (batch 2024) lasts double (easily 8 hours) and costs half as much. For me, there’s no comparison. In summary, it’s a summer jewel with beach or seaside vibes that will stay in my collection. Scent: 9/10. Longevity: 9/10h. Projection: 7.5/10. Versatility: 6/10 (summer only).

  • I bought a decant to understand the fuss, comparing it to Creed’s Virgin Island Water. Verdict: the hype has taken its toll. The opening is its weak point; the lime bursts in aggressively, sharp and piercing, like a supermarket citrus cologne, lacking the juiciness and elegance you’d expect from Simone Andreoli. As it dries, the coconut softens the acidity and adds a warm tropical touch, but that strident opening spoils everything. If you’re looking for an alternative to Creed’s VIW, look at cheaper options like Paris Corner’s Coconut Lagoon: similar concept (lime and coconut), loud opening but at a fraction of the price. In my opinion, it’s not worth it. I have more balanced citrus scents in my collection with a better-quality lime. Malibù Party in the Bay isn’t bad, but it adds nothing new. It’s another example of how collective enthusiasm elevates products that olfactorily fall short.

  • PaRFuMaNiTa

Spectacular. Simone Andreoli fragrances are a fantasy, and this is my favourite. The opening is a refreshing lime that then gives way to coconut. It outshines Virgin Island Water a thousand times. Although Gorse is a good similar, I still prefer this. I recommend it 100%.

  • The hype has killed this fragrance: artificial lime and plastic sweetness. Ridiculous value for a summer perfume. I do not recommend it.
