La Dolida is super clean, floral with a very discreet citrus, and well-constructed. As it dries, it’s 90% Phalo Blue. Projection and longevity: absolutely beastly.
It’s a clean musk, floral, and slightly woody. It comes out fresh but soon transforms into something musky, soapy, and floral; you can definitely detect the ambergris. The dry down reminds me of those strange floral scents from Fleur du Male. Even the bottle is opaque and a pristine white, an undeclared homage to FdM?
What a lovely perfume! A clean, balanced, and quality fougère. I could only manage to get a decant, but if you can grab a bottle, don’t hesitate.
“Let him who is without sin…” I’ve been super critical of Andy Tauer. When news of this special edition broke, I burst out laughing, thinking it was another marketing scam. And yes, it’s limited, pricey, and all the rage online. But guided by my irrational side, I bought it to laugh at my own prejudices. I both hate and adore this chap: he has jewels and others that are a real shame, like Air or Heart of the Desert. I picked this up without knowing what it smelled like, but I adore his discontinued compositions. I remember the linden blossom my mother used in spring; I only have one chypre rose kept like gold. I bought Nexin in case I missed another masterpiece. Is it worth it? No. Am I glad I bought it? Yes. It hasn’t thrilled me like others, but I like it immensely. Simple aroma, a calm and modernised fougère, with metallic and salty vetiver over amber. Fresh green notes and a very clean soapy-woody dry down. Deserves to be in the Tauer line at a reasonable price.
Finally got my hands on it! After a few days of wear, I can confirm this is a proper niche gem, not mass-market fare like LAYTON. It’s green, sparkling, and perfect for a flawless gentleman, just like its white, collectible bottle. If you fancy oakmoss and vetiver, don’t hesitate: it’s a lighter version of both, ideal for all seasons. EDIT: as it dries, it becomes more woody with a sweet, elegant touch. Performance is EXP.
