  A lovely, meticulous take on those abrasive, woody vetivers out there, such as Encre Noire or Sycomore. This one starts on the finer lines of Sycomore but with bolder, more oriental strokes, achieving a drier, resinous, and enveloping finish.

  Oh dear, what can I say about this scent? It opens green, like field herbs on a damp morning, moving into wet earth after a winter drizzle. You can detect vetiver, resins, and cedar. At first, it takes some getting used to, but as it dries down it becomes woody, green, and fresh. Moderate projection and good longevity. It’s a vintage smell with a modern touch from the citrus and cardamomo. I’m testing it after a day of wear; with more time I’ll discover its secrets. Scent 6/10, Projection 6/10, Longevity 7.5/10, Sillage 5/10.

  If you’re not a huge vetiver fan, think twice before buying; it smells of damp, woody vetiver (thanks to the guaiac) and can come across as a bit overpowering.
