What a wonder! If you enjoy sweet violet scents, this is your perfume. It’s very spring-like despite being quite sweet. It opens with a wonderful iris and violet accord, and over time, the lily root emerges, giving it a deliciously creamy dry down. It dries down to resemble benzoin, vanilla, and a very well-blended touch of sandalwood. If you are lovers of Insolence but find it too strong, try this perfume; it is as delicate as it is sophisticated. I think it’s ideal for someone who enjoys sweet perfumes but wants to experiment with something more floral. I am delighted with it. By the way, it has a great similarity to Amouage’s Opus III, but it is much more affordable.
What a marvel!! If you enjoy sugary violet scents, this is your perfume. It’s very spring-like despite being quite sweet. Earthy and resinous violet, with just a whisper of iris. Reminds me of violet sweets but with depth and more body; it’s elegant and almost unisex. Somewhere between the ethereal Insolence and the sumptuous Violet Blonde, yet sweeter than both due to the resins and ylang. Very autumnal and winterly, it has a blanket effect. But a purple blanket of pure cashmere with gold embroidery, worth two and a half shillings, not the one that pills from overuse. Discontinued but still available online; it’s worth it if you like violets but not frivolous, light fragrances. Added later: as it evolves, it becomes sweeter, being earthy only in the opening.
Earthy and resinous violet, with barely noticeable iris. It reminds me of violet candies but with depth and more body; it is elegant and almost unisex. It sits halfway between the ethereal Insolence and the sumptuous Violet Blonde, yet it is sweeter than these due to the resins and ylang. Very autumnal and winterly, it has a blanket effect. But a purple blanket of pure cashmere with gold embroidery, worth its weight in gold, not the one that pills from overuse. Discontinued but still available online, it is worth it if you like violets but not frivolous, light perfumes. Edited to add: as it evolves, it becomes sweeter; it is earthy only in the opening.
