Descripción
Loumari's Porthole is a floral fruity fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2022, this composition is signed by nose Camille Chemardin. Its top notes of pineapple, sea salt, iodine and bergamot deliver a fresh, saline first impression. The heart reveals passion fruit, white flowers and ginger, adding a tropical and spicy luminosity. Finally, the base settles on white musk, woody notes and caramel, closing the structure with an enveloping, sweet warmth.

Porthole is a perfume that changes depending on the distance: from afar, it smells rich of mango and fruits with a clean, soapy floral base, like a good shower gel. As you get closer, that cleanliness gives way to an unexpected salty note that adds character. When it dries down, a soft caramel touch sweetens without being cloying. They call it masculine, but I see it as unisex, even with a feminine nuance due to its sweetness and fruity-soapy finish. It reminds me of LV’s Pacific Chill, although the LV one feels more westernised, refined, and amiable. Both share that fruity-green profile, almost like kiwi, with a base that evokes summer showers with fruit gels. In short, it is a very good perfume, but given the price, I think you’d be better off going for Pacific Chill, or even better, Tales from Zanzibar, which (to be fair) crushes it. PH has, in my opinion, very typical Arab perfumery highlights, especially in the musks that play between clean and dirty. It’s a subtle nuance that requires concentration to perceive and doesn’t reach everyone’s nose, making me feel like I’m wearing a Lattafa clone rather than a luxury perfume. Furthermore, it feels too feminine for me. Although objectively it is a very good scent, personally I can’t see myself wearing it. For me: No. Would I recommend trying it? Absolutely yes.

Porthole by Loumari has carved out a niche for itself with that tropical, citrusy, and modern vibe. I love it because it fits the trend of cheerful, easy-to-wear fragrances, yet it has a touch that saves it from being generic. It opens with a sparkling citrus cocktail, full of energy and freshness. Then the tropical notes emerge, backed by spicy and exotic undertones that add depth. It balances the luminous aspects with an elegant base without falling into simplicity. On my skin, it lasts about 7 to 8 hours, with good projection for the first two hours; afterwards, it stays closer to the skin but remains present. I see it as ideal for casual wear, outdoor gatherings, or beach holidays. It radiates freshness and joy. I’m giving it 8.5/10. Although personally I prefer Limonata by Narcotica, this is undoubtedly a great fragrance.
