Greasque by Sora Dora is a green, herbal perfume with a sweet touch; it’s unique, though not for everyone. The opening is intense, featuring high-quality, realistic mint and basil that you can almost smell directly. There’s also a sweet caramel note that, mixed with the mint, reminds me of toothpaste, which I don’t quite like. As it dries down, spices, woods, and fruits emerge, giving it a distinctive twist. The clove is quite noticeable in the dry down, although it sometimes blends with the other notes. It lasts between 6 and 8 hours with moderate projection.
This perfume deceives at first sight; the opening made me think of Kalan by Parfums de Marly, which isn’t my favourite and isn’t easy to wear. However, after five minutes, it evolves into an aroma with infinite nuances: herbal, salty, a touch of caramel, and notes of ash, gunpowder, or smoke. Don’t let the first impression fool you; give it a chance, it’s a wonderful, unconventional gem.
This perfume is not what it seems. The opening reminded me of Kalan by Parfums de Marly, which isn’t one of my favourites nor an easy scent. However, after five minutes, it evolves into a fragrance with infinite nuances: herbal, salty, a touch of caramel, and others like ash or smoky powder. Don’t let the first impression fool you; give it a chance, it’s a wonderful, unconventional gem.
With this perfume, I committed the usual injustice of judging it by the opening, without giving it time to evolve, and after trying the siblings from the brand, including Kamel Oud. It begins as a typical green aroma, appearing to head towards a classic masculine scent thanks to that potent balsamic note, very old school. But then comes the rollercoaster: surprisingly, smoky notes appear, along with a slight sweetening and the nuance of a freshly sharpened pencil. In fact, it smelled to me like a school pencil case. I loved it. It’s versatile, perhaps more intended for men, with a longevity of a full working day, noticeable well for the first two hours and detectable afterwards without needing to be a bloodhound.
