Descripción

Salina by Laboratorio Olfattivo is an aromatic fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2013, this olfactory composition was created by nose David Maruitte. The top notes reveal sea salt, pine needles, and lemon, with a touch of acidic lime. The heart of the fragrance unfolds marine notes, sand, myrtle, and lavender, while the base notes settle with white musk, cedar, vanilla, and tonka bean.

  • I admit that the idea of a marine perfume excited me greatly, but with this ‘Salina’ I’ve been let down a little. The marine interpretation does take you to the water, yes, but to the sea you smell after eating an oyster. It’s the scent of rocks, seaweed, and molluscs, almost as if in two steps you’re in a fishmonger’s. It’s more of a ‘fruits de mer’ sea than the one you get from walking barefoot on the beach. It’s a sailor’s sea, not a tourist’s, all salty and looking to be eaten.

  • I admit that the idea of a perfume that smells like the sea is very tempting and that generated very high expectations in me. Unfortunately, with this ‘Salina’, I have had a small letdown because the interpretation of the sea goes down a path I did not expect. The salt and marine notes effectively lead me to water, but to the sea you find yourself in when you eat an oyster. It is the sea you smell when you come out of diving, among rocks where there are algae, molluscs, and barnacles. ‘To the sea’ yes, but in almost two steps you could be in a fishmonger’s. It is more a ‘fruits de mer’ sea in the poissonerie than the sea of walking barefoot along the shore on an island. It is a sailor’s sea, not a general marine one. Seasoned with sea salt and bon appétit!

  • Salina is my first perfume with sea water notes. It’s a new world for my nose and I love discovering it. It takes me to many places and brings images of the sea with cliffs and rocks with algae and aquatic plants. It reminds me of Mar de las Pampas in Argentina, where pine forests line the coast creating fresh, green, salty olfactory landscapes. The perfume has good performance; I perceive it more on my partner than on myself. It is vividly unisex and versatile. Summer, night, day, but clearly it is perfect for the sea, as its essence lies there. Not in a piñata sea with a parasol and Hawaiian tropical coconut. Its sea is wavy, with killer sirens on green sticky rocks and forests with sharp pines.

  • You’re looking for a perfume that reminds you of Acqua Di Sale, Salina is the choice. It begins with sharp citrus notes, accompanied by those salty notes that give the impression of having just come out of the sea, walking on sand under the sun. However, on my skin, both in the opening and the heart phase, I can say it is very similar to the Profumum Roma fragrance, but then at the 4th hour those salty notes remain accompanied by a very subtle sweetness. Its longevity is wonderful, with a life of about 9 to 10 hours, where at least 3 of them project, especially under the sun, then it remains as a personal bubble that keeps sending bursts that make you think ‘it’s still here accompanying me’. I can only say, thank you Laboratorio Olfattivo for giving us an alternative to Acqua Di Sale at half the price.

  • Salina smells like the edge of a beach with fine sand heated by the sun. Natural, evocative, beautiful, refined, accomplished. It evolves towards soapy notes without losing the salty part. It conveys many sensations. Salina is a literal example of perfume as an artistic expression. It lasts more than 7 hours, longer on skin, and remains on clothes for days. Sillage and projection are more than notable. Better for mild temperatures than in the height of summer. One must not apply too much, as it loses its subtlety. Since I met Salina, it has become one of my favourites; in fact, I have both formats. What surprises me most about Salina is that it can provoke rejection. There are many negative reviews, and in real life I have received bad comments. To me, it seems a natural, clean, and relaxing perfume, something ‘mindfulness’, but people have told me it smells like stagnant water, horses, or cows in a puddle. Perfumery is subjective, and Salina is nothing common, but no matter how hard I try, I find nothing difficult about it. It is a select jewel.

  • I don’t know what’s going on with my skin, but this simply doesn’t work. I wanted it to, as its olfactive family is one of my favourites for summer: hot sand, salty, with a hint of wet kelp, mixed with sunscreen. Nothing like Mancera’s holidays, which I adore, but that summer filled with ylang and tiare in my Mancera is super floral. Juliette has a gun Vanilla Vives and Off White No1 are super balanced in all that, giving me that beach day scent with a green touch and minimally mossy or ‘unpleasant’ stuff, which the salty note kills for me. As soon as it touches my skin, it smells like when you’ve spent the day at the beach and your mother stops you in the afternoon with her tongue-wet finger to clean something off your skin… I think words are superfluous. I had a terrible time at the official perfumery in Milan; I didn’t know how to express my dissatisfaction without offending the perfumer attending to me, but as soon as she smelled it on my skin… she verified it! Sadly, it doesn’t work on me… a pity, but still, my partner on their skin is a delight… thanks to supreme strength hahaha, well, that’s my experience.

Dynamic as sea water and highly aromatic. It appeals more to me as an ‘olfactory experience’ than a pretty little perfume (and I absolutely love that). It clings strongly to the skin. I celebrate fragrances like this!
