Secret of Venus surprises me with its style, complexity, and undeniable vintage olfactory richness. It’s a super rich and warm scent, with juicy glamour that evokes red lips, radiating magnificent seduction as if wearing its own fur stole, cigarette holder, and charmeuse evening gown. Sumptuous, exuberant, erotic… a perfect lure to attract, a fireworks display of lost beauty. It begins with a standout citrus cloud featuring bergamot, followed by a potent floral powder mixed with wood in the middle, where (according to my nose) a touch of animalic notes emerges, leading to the final symphony with a plush oriental base of sandalwood and amber. Warm and sexy in a sweetly retro way, Secret of Venus is a vintage you must smell if you find it. It’s a journey like few others in the world of perfume. Some may see it as outdated, but that makes me smile: to surpass something, you first have to have achieved it.
