Descripción
24 Faubourg by Hermès is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 1995, this composition was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The top notes unfold with hyacinth, orange, ylang-ylang, peach, and bergamot; the heart reveals orange blossom, gardenia, jasmine, black elderflower, and iris; while the base notes settle with amber, sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla.

A rare bird in Hermès, seems understated though I don’t know the original. It has many nuances and isn’t for everyone. I detect a lot of earthy and salty ambergris. It lasted long on skin but I don’t like wearing it.
Surprising fragrance: the talc note combined with that carrot elixir sweetness makes it one of the most powerful scents I’ve ever tried.
24 Faubourg is a delight. I haven’t found anything so elegant for ages; it reminds me of Lalique without being the same, just in that elegance. Upon application, flowers and fruit combined spectacularly, in the old style, with the personality of a great perfume from the past that remains so today. Finding it now excites me; I feel fragrances that surprise like before still exist. It has body and soul. On my skin the jasmine fades, and it’s for the day for those with an elegant heart and for any occasion at night without being over the top. Longevity and sillage are enviable, leaving a sweet treat with style, nothing simple. They remind you forever. It evokes someone secure, firm, feminine and subtle. It takes over the moment with charisma, by turning heads and being looked at, not by imposing. When she arrives, you know of her presence, but SHE is a lady. DELICIOUS.
Bought the EDT today. When I checked the batch code, I saw it was from 1999. I thought it was a gem, but unfortunately, it smells like vinegar at first, seems spoiled.
This fragrance is named after the Parisian address of the Hermès Maison and is one of the few that has survived reformulations, a real gem. A floral harmony with warm jasmine and natural orange blossom, all with classic aldehydic touches. Amber base with powdery, soft and sweet iris. For women of any age, extremely feminine and elegant. Requires confidence, it has great character. Ideal for the office, dinners or dates. Warm amber floral, with few sprays and excellent trail. Unmistakably Hermès.
This fragrance is named after the Maison Hermès’ Parisian boutique and is one of the few to have survived reformulations—a true surviving gem. It boasts a fascinating floral harmony where jasmine (on my skin) shines warmly alongside an elegant, entirely natural orange blossom. All this is accented with aldehydic notes that lend it a classic yet sophisticated air. At its heart lies a soft, sweet amber with a delightful powdery iris; it’s a gentle, comforting amber. It’s designed for women of any age. It is a supremely feminine, classic, and elegant scent. Be aware, it requires confidence to wear as it has a strong character and stands out. It’s perfect for the office or romantic dinners and dates. The amber-floral aroma is pleasing and warm. Moreover, with just a few sprays, its longevity and sillage are excellent. An elegant scent with a dignified and charming classicism, unmistakably Hermès.
Bought it a few days ago and I’m fascinated. It’s classic yet fits the times, any weather and age, but not for everyone. Strong, powdery, aldehydic jasmine. At first, it smells herbal and dry, which I love. 10 for scent, 10 for longevity, 10 for sillage and projection.
It’s my go-to fragrance, the favourite: elegant, refined and with character. No hype, it inspires formality and femininity. Smells like class, ideal for mature women with leadership. A fantastic perfume that, with moderate doses, lasts all day. Hermès is an exquisite house, not for everyone and nothing competes with it. I recommend trying it on skin.
I want it. It doesn’t usually happen to me so often to have this thought just after smelling a fragrance, but 24 Faubourg has fascinated me. What a wonderful perfume! It smells like a well-made perfume, a fragrance from before, elegance, class, and savoir-faire. It smells like a woman of action who is not to be intimidated. I won’t say much about the notes because I am still a novice and I struggle to distinguish them unless they are very exaggerated. Some fool will dare to say it smells like a ‘mature lady’s’ perfume because I don’t believe it is for everyone, but it is the best I have smelled in recent months. Of captivating.
I want it. It doesn’t usually happen, but 24 Faubourg has fascinated me. What a magnificent perfume! It smells well-made, from before, of elegance, class and savoir-vivre. It smells like a woman who takes charge and isn’t to be pushed around. I won’t detail the notes because I’m a novice and struggle to distinguish them unless they’re exaggerated. Some fool will say it smells like an old lady, but I don’t think it’s for everyone; it’s the best I’ve smelled in months. Destined to enchant.
When Hermès moves away from the fresh and embarks on intense fragrances, it puts all its chips on the table without hesitation. Its scent possesses one of the most strident and intense notes of orange blossom I have ever perceived. Of course, it is not a fresh orange blossom in the slightest. It has a dense, powdery, histrionic structure, like cosmetics. The top notes are a potent hyacinth with touches of orange/bergamot, emitting a certain sweet-and-sour sensation. In the base, there is ylang-ylang but it constantly loses prominence to other notes that take the lead. To this hyacinth with touches of orange/bergamot/peach, the orange blossom note is added, becoming more visible as time passes. It is not alone; secondary white florals accompany it, especially gardenia as its first escort, with hints of iris (very small in the distance). Ambered, with sandalwood notes that seem to disappear into the creaminess of the floral bouquet. Olfactorily, I find a ‘green’ sensation bordering its white flowers; I don’t know if this is produced by a particular note or the conjunction of several. As time advances, this sweet-and-sour aspect of the beginning subsides with its vanilla base. Opulent, dramatic, intense, with exceptional quality. A lordly perfume that imposes presence and sends a message. Trail and fixation are assured. I like it, but it is really not a fragrance to buy blind; my review is about the formula of the old EDT.
In this perfume, it is evident that when it was formulated, there was no scrimping on ingredients or raw material quality as there is now. It is a very well-made work of art; a prismatic scent, elaborate… a sculpture you can view from any height and angle. It smells of flowers, roots, wood, and ylang-ylang… all brought together to touch and give a concert. I imagine a girl walking through a Christmas market, drinking hot wine with cinnamon in Paris, smelling exactly like this. Perhaps she wore her mother’s perfume or simply enjoys quality classic aromas. After a while, something connects me directly to Anais Anais; I don’t know why, surely it’s the white flowers and hyacinth. As if Faubourg were adult Anais, studying and with exquisite taste.
In this perfume, you can tell that when it was formulated, no expense was spared on ingredients or raw material quality, unlike today. It is a well-crafted work of art; a prismatic, complex aroma, a sculpture you can admire from every angle. It smells of flowers, roots, wood, and ylang-ylang… all played together in a symphony. I imagine a girl strolling through a Christmas market in Paris, sipping hot spiced wine and smelling like this. Perhaps she’s wearing her mother’s perfume or simply has a taste for quality classic scents. After a while, something connects it directly to Anais Anais; I’m not sure why, but it must be the white flowers and hyacinth. As if Faubourg were adult Anais, studying with exquisite taste.
Smells like an old English perfume. I had been waiting for this one as it was one worn by Lady D. It doesn’t last long and the trail is not much; I don’t know why it’s defined as an autumnal scent when the cold just begins. It hasn’t surprised me, unlike Diorissimo, which still seems modern to me day after day despite the years on the market. It wasn’t a great surprise either. You can tell it’s a quality perfume but old and clogged to its very core.
A delight of classic feminine perfume. It’s a wonder. However, it happens to me as with Estée Lauder’s Beautiful: I would be the first to buy an updated flanker, like Chanel No. 5 L’Eau. That version could truly be my signature scent, blindfolded.
It smells wonderful and projects very well. The scent it leaves on my skin is a highly spiced blend, and I can definitely detect cinnamon (nothing of this appears in the olfactory pyramid). It’s warm and woody, with personality; it really stands out from the ordinary.
This perfume is my favourite. It’s very elegant, has presence, and is sophisticated. It’s a very subtle, unique aroma. I believe someone young or older could wear it. I simply adore it.
I absolutely love it; this perfume is so elegant. It reminds me so much of Lady D, which is why I now understand why it was one of her favourites. It has a vintage scent from the 80s and 90s, yet it isn’t as vintage as I expected. I wouldn’t compare it to Chanel No 5, which truly is super vintage. Faubourg 24 is warm, floral and elegant for a woman; just look at the bottle design, it’s perfect. It’s a shame they’ve discontinued it.
I stumbled upon this perfume by chance in 1995, it was on offer in a chemist. I bought it. Simply wonderful. I still have the bottle with its scent. Delicious.
What a find. The 24 Faubourg Eau de Toilette unleashes that classic charisma I so admire, one that I also find incredibly interesting and sensual in feminine fragrances. It has nothing of the youthful or girly about it; instead, it is a perfume that is wholly adult and feminine. It evokes those years when seduction was an art form made of intense gazes and daring gestures, far from today’s digital rhythms, without any rush. A smile in a nightclub lit up with neon lights was enough to spark a flame, and a phone call at the right moment was more powerful than a thousand messages or social media stories. Nowadays, with the speed of apps, that feeling of waiting and conquest has given way to immediacy. In the 90s, seduction was a game of pauses and silences, heartbeats and perfect synchronisation, a ritual consumed slowly, like a vinyl record from the first track to the last. The opening already tells you what it’s about: a very confident and exquisite perfume. It begins slightly fresh and fruity, with a clearly perceptible bitterness and an orange that is almost typical of Hermès, seeming very natural, like an orange under the sun. It makes me feel at ease, as if the person you like were to take you in their arms and say: ‘This is our night…’. As it settles, the classic bouquet of flowers takes centre stage. The scent is extremely floral, opulent yet not intrusive. Here I particularly notice the hyacinth, which gives it an intensely charming aroma with a slight sweet vibration. Now and again, a touch of jasmine and gardenia is noticeable, and the 24 Faubourg remains fabulously classic, retaining its seductive elegance. Everything is completed with intense oriental accords. The amber and vanilla ensure that it maintains its sensuality even as the flowers move to the background; they never disappear. Absolutely, it is a beautiful classic fragrance, floral and oriental, that radiates an attractive and feminine aura with great brilliance. For women who still know how to seduce with a glance and a smile.
