Perfumer
Maurice Roucel
Considered one of the best perfumers of his time, Maurice Roucel is often described as a legend. Born in Normandy, trained as a chemist and educated at Chanel, perfumery has been his playground since the 1970s. Humble and hardworking, he often impresses with his authentic personality. He has worked as a perfumer for some of the most prestigious houses, which has enabled him to create some of the industry’s most iconic fragrances. At the same time, he also took part in the creation of niche brands, notably alongside Frédéric Malle. A pioneer in the use of magnolia in perfumery, self-taught, curious and inspired, he shows a bold attitude, as demonstrated by his motto “vive la vie et ne regarde pas en arrière”. His vision is reflected in both.
