The heart reveals mimosa, vanilla flower, neroli, ylang-ylang, orange blossom, jasmine, freesia, heliotrope, rose and leather. The base notes close the pyramid with vanilla, orange blossom, amber, tonka bean, musk and cedar.

  • My mum used to wear this perfume in the nineties and I find it very nice. I would not wear it myself, but I agree it is a scent between peaches, liqueur, and amber. When I was little, smelling it, I felt a scent of candied grapes for some reason.

  • I love Poême; it has everything I like in a floral: intoxicating, sweet, intense, with a fixation and trail that do not disappoint. I decided to seek the vintage version (the redder the juice, the better). The current one is not bad, but it leans more towards floral and is slightly more synthetic. In contrast, the first formula lets the fruits dominate quite a bit; the vanilla and mimosa are better achieved. Poême opens with juicy plum, peach, mandarin, and blackcurrants. I struggle to find the narcissus among such an explosion of fruits, but little by little the mimosa becomes noticeable. As it settles on the skin, the white flowers claim the spotlight. The mimosa is clear and bold, front and centre. The neroli with vanilla gives it a sensual yet playful touch. The ylang-ylang and orange blossom intertwine well with mimosa and neroli. It is ambered, sweet as honey, floral with advanced fruity touches. There is a certain connection with Classique (floral winks), but the aniseed, the spice of ginger, and the earthy cinnamon in Gaultier make it too seductive and relentless in the ‘Femme Fatale’ vein. Poême is intense but prefers a more romantic side and is not so seductive. Fixation and trail are atomic; you must apply with caution. Like Classique, they are polarising; not everyone likes them, so proceed carefully, but if you enjoy one, there is a good chance you will enjoy the other.

  • Well, I bought this perfume but the truth is it is very strong. In my opinion, you only need to put a little bit because it overwhelms me. It was not a perfume that drove me wild.

I fell in love with POême when I was 12 years old over a miniature; several decades have passed and my love remains intact. 🧡 Despite the reformulations, it remains a perfect blend of flowers, vanilla, and peach 👌. It is a scent that must never be missing in my vanity. A magnet for compliments every time I wear it. An elegant and sexy classic that fits very well in today’s world.

Poême, a memory of university. A beautiful love poem, passionate and Parisian. I have smelled French perfumes, but this one is so Parisian, so sophisticated and cheerful that it transports me to happy moments. I love its warmth, its timelessness, its tender and passionate embrace. It is an explosion of mimosa at the start with vanilla, that warm vanilla that gives heat, exquisite, a sensation of wellbeing and comfort. A great masterpiece, a classic that never goes out of fashion, precious. Despite reformulations and imitations, it remains of brutal quality and unique. Nothing is like this poem of love and passion.

I bought it over 10 years ago and its scent is still persistent. Although it is pleasant and sweet, I would summarise it as very powdery and very yellow. It is not bad, but it sits in that gap where I feel I am using spa talcs instead of perfume. Its scent is lovely but doesn’t quite please me; it feels a bit overwhelming. I would not buy it again and it will not be my favourite.

  • It is madness how long it lasts on the skin. Yes, it is a little stately, but as it has so many flowers, it doesn’t look odd if someone in their 30s wears it. It is not trendy, but if you like the flowers it has, you will enjoy it and people will compliment you.

  • In my opinion, it is the women’s perfume with the best performance, trail, and longevity, although it is very stately. Poême is where the floral notes dominate, which I feel overpowers the others. I believe it is a fragrance for an age of 50+.

  • Carlaelena

I had it many years ago; I felt a quite floral scent, a bit soapy and clean, with plenty of sillage and incredible longevity. A feminine perfume, for a dreamy and romantic woman.

  • Poème by Lancôme is a super classic fragrance that I think never goes out of style, as its olfactory beauty and quality are far superior to many creations of today. Many highlight the yellow flowers like mimosa; if I had to give Poème a colour, it would be bright yellow. Ylang and neroli are part of that very subtle and sensual bouquet of white flowers. A superbly structured base where flowers intermingle with musks and a beautiful amber note.

  • Karen Campos

I love it and it inspires me. This scent marked a before and after in my tastes, which used to be sweet and gourmand. Poême taught me to appreciate flowers; it helped me mature. It smells like a blend of white and yellow flowers I can’t quite distinguish, but combined they are perfect. It has a sweet vanilla and tonka bean base, yet nothing gourmand; it’s slightly powdery, giving it that adult, refined, classy touch. It’s a wonderful talc. It makes me smell like a distinguished, delicate woman. It lasts for ages, like all Lancôme scents, and has that trail that comes and goes, suddenly subtle and then very present. It has become a jewel in my collection and I’ll keep it forever. It’s pricey, but I got it 30% off and I think it’s worth it. I recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy a floral fragrance.

Poème literally and proudly wears its name; this perfume is poetry for the senses, a classic beauty perfectly detailed, truly dream dust. It saw the light in the last millennium, in 1995, where amidst the atomic bombs of the time, Poème measured itself without losing a drop of its charm. Here comes a gorgeous opening of honey peach alongside a ripe plum and a sweet mandarin, giving way to a great bouquet of radiantly beautiful flowers: mimosa, narcissus, neroli, jasmine, and ylang-ylang. White and yellow petals stand out, embraced by unmistakable vanilla, a warm amber, and an elegant cedar wood. Poème is a perfume for elegant dresses with simple, immaculate cuts; sober, tender, and yet extremely distant. It’s that fragrance that makes itself noticed without overwhelming anyone, but simply calls your attention and leaves you absorbed. Here you’ll get a wonderful yellow floral fragrance with very prominent white nuances, with dusty, vanilla, and fruity traces, backed by a wood note that goes to the background but is always detectable. Sillage and longevity are quite notable.

  • I already knew what it was the moment I smelled it today. A familiar scent, totally 90s, like my older sisters’ friends, like going to a winter cinema wrapped in a scarf for a 1995 romantic premiere… I find it interesting but it’s not for me; ultimately, it has a point that disappoints me. Just enough to make it no longer attractive, perhaps a dental note (mouthwash, classic, I don’t know) and a touch of conventional, sharp, honeyed cologne. Also, a whiff of Nelly nail polish. But initially and in the heart phase, it had something precious and familiar. This varied into a feeling of zero surprise and the regret of knowing I’d tire of it soon. But to save Poème, I praise its ease in evoking an instant or scene. Perfumes must frame memories; it’s part of their charm. Edited a few days later: dry down leaves a deep, familiar, comfortable, peaceful, very pleasant scent after several days, one that I wish had been there from the start. A clean, sunlit powder room.

  • I bought it due to its fame and because seeing it in my country these years was like finding a unicorn. I feared it was just another 90s fragrance with competing notes shouting for attention, but no. Fortunately, from the start, its scent dispelled my doubts and made me happy to know it. It’s a charm; I sense yellow and white flowers, a creamy texture, a honeyed, vanilla, and amber touch, with lots of warmth. Plus, it has excellent performance, lasting at least 8 hours. I love it.

  • To my nose, it’s a perfect mix between Classique by Gaultier and Amarige by Givenchy. A delight if you like creamy 90s scents with a thousand notes.

  • Izumi Curtis

Hello, does anyone know if it has been reformulated? I just bought one, but for some reason it doesn’t smell exactly like the one in my memory. Now it feels softer, almost shy, nothing like that powerful, honeyed opening of the 90s.

  • Maky'zarty

I tried it in a decant and it seemed quite stately, strong, and potent. The vanilla and flowers stand out; it feels creamy. It doesn’t smell bad, but I wouldn’t buy a full bottle; I think my tastes are less refined. I’ve never seen negative reviews for fine brands, but for me, who likes celebrity scents, this isn’t for me.

  • As its name suggests, it’s a poem: a blend of sweet, soft, and velvety scents. It smells of sweet vanilla, peach, and very sweet flowers; everything is warm and substantial, ideal for cold weather. It’s an aroma that, if it gets into me, makes me dream and evoke memories, which is exactly what I seek in a perfume: to seal moments that return when I catch its magnificent scent.

  • Poème by Lancôme is an absolute delight. Sensual, fruity, and temptingly addictive, it carries that truly Parisian touch we rarely see anymore. It feels like perfumes aren’t made with such elaboration, complexity, and perfection these days.

  • Mr. Baskerville

Some say Poeme has not aged well. Some reviews explain my thought: it is loved by many on the street but denigrated by professional critics who call it strident, synthetic, and outdated, although it has a good base. Personally, I feel it revolves around a combo of orange blossom and neroli highlighted by a creamy vanilla, supported by musk and amber. I do not identify the rest of the notes well, except for the fruity opening with blackcurrants which sometimes I find sensitive. It has notable projection and longevity. I think it is a good fragrance, but I warn that it is not for those who do not like flowers. Be careful with the sprays, they can be quite irritating. It is true that it is hard to imagine a young wearer with this, but whoever has the personality to carry it would look great.

  • Simply exquisite. A fragrance so feminine and pleasant, one of the best in my collection, it is in my top 5. It is hard to find and in Argentina it is very expensive, but it is worth every penny. It makes you feel like a sweet and soft woman, like those ladies of old. Beautiful.

  • Rochi Martinez

It is one of my signature perfumes. I discovered it in 2015 and fell in love; it goes great for mature women as well as young ones. It is a magnificent perfume. Congratulations to the creators of this beauty and to the beautiful brand Lancôme.

  • I have just received a bottle and I remembered it as an icon of the 90s. Without a doubt, it was always the perfume of an elegant and refined lady. I find it difficult to define 90s perfumes with current terms because I feel they do not do them justice. Although they are linear like Poeme, they are very complex in their accords and pairings. It is floral, but impossible to identify a single note blind because none stands out on its own; they function as a whole. Its longevity is colossal: there are no commercial perfumes today with such fixation, trail, and duration. Literally, with two soft sprays, it lasted until the day after my shower. On clothes, it remains until the next wash. Conclusion: it is a PERFUME in capital letters. I recommend trying it first because it is strong and can be tiring or cause a headache. It is pleasant, but not for everyone. I wish we had perfumes like this today. Without a doubt, it has the name well placed: it is a true poem from the industry.

  • This classic is the most intense perfume I have purchased. Longevity is its greatest strength. It is complex and intense; I almost never wear it as it requires a very special occasion; it is too potent for the day and also at night. Its identity is unmistakable.

  • Benjamin Alamo - 1389

One of my mother’s signature perfumes, alongside Amarige. But we always agree that Poeme has something special that sets it apart from all the 90s launches. This is the best, unique, brilliant, yellow, with just the right amount of sweetness. What a pity it has not reached Argentina for a few years; do not miss the opportunity because this is the great jewel.

  • Perla Vencis

A classic that remains evergreen. Although it has been compared to others, nothing equals Poeme. The name suits it perfectly: it is a poem on my skin. The liquid sums it all up very well. I cannot decipher which accord stands out the most, but Jacques Cavallier achieves a perfect blend of fruits and yellow flowers (peach, tangerine, bergamot, mimosa, vanilla, neroli, ylang-ylang, and orange blossom). In the dry-down, there is plenty of amber, vanilla, leather, wood, and habanone. It suits all seasons, though I reserve it for formal occasions; I do not use it for daily life, but rather for special events. It has good longevity, staying tattooed on the skin for hours with that addictive yet discreet fruity-floral and talc-like scent.

  • It is a magnificent perfume; I am afraid they might discontinue it, so I bought a 100ml bottle. With its longevity and intensity, I will wear it for 10 years. I use it in autumn and winter, although on some fresh spring days I have greatly craved to wear it. It is a super-vanillated yellow floral. Nowadays I cannot find perfumes like this, so let them leave that trail and last all day. It is a jewel.

  • Benjamin Alamo - 1389

I dare say it is the king of the 90s, a sweet and natural classic that truly hooks you. It opens with a bomb of peach and yellow flowers, accompanied by its own inherent sweetness that lingers until the very end. The neroli and orange blossom blend together, leaving a dry-down that is talc-like, floral, and ambered. Ideal for winter or autumn evenings; in spring it can be quite heavy. It lasts over 15 hours and projects like few others today, smelling simply glorious. I wonder if they will take it off the market as it is hard to find, but the quality is assured.

  • Camila Echeverry

Hello dear perfume lovers, I just tried this wonder; I left the perfumeria 10 minutes ago and had to sit in a café to process the experience of falling in love with this beauty. The comments do it full justice; it smells like paradise, ultra-feminine, elegant, strong, and yet delicate due to its intense florality. It hasn’t happened to me in a long time, and that although I constantly try perfumes; this was special. I don’t know how long it will last; the comments make me think it’s a very long time. I’m not usually impulsive when buying perfumes because often the longevity disappoints me, but I was about to do it. I applied it to a blotter and it has me hypnotised. The best floral I have ever smelled in my life; it is definitely the perfume of a bride getting married in a garden or in a forest.

  • Well, as I continue sniffing around shops, I decided to look for this perfume again. I don’t know if it’s my age or what, but they no longer make perfumes like this. I feel compelled to say it. I see a lot of artificiality in commercial perfumery; some seem like fruit body splashes, others seem like copies of those others… in short. It is a perfume with all the letters, period.

  • sofiaarmellino

Beautiful, I’ve never smelled anything like it. It was love at first sight; I chose it as a birthday gift and was very much intrigued and doubtful about whether it was a good decision to order it, since I had never smelled it before and was afraid I wouldn’t like it or it would overwhelm me, mostly because they say it’s more of a perfume for adult women and I am in my twenties. But it is rich, feminine, and powerful. As soon as I sprayed the first time, the whole place filled up; it feels very rich, sweet but not cloying. The opening is quite fruity; I feel the peach more than anything, and as it dries down, it feels like a rich vanilla, not cloying at all. The neroli and mimosa (honestly, there are many aromas I can’t differentiate, but the ones I felt most were those). I tested it yesterday at 9 pm and today at 10 am, the mimosa scent was still on my arm; it’s incredible how long it lasts. If you are in doubt about buying it blind, go for it; it is rich, and for me, it doesn’t resemble any other perfume. Beautiful.

  • Feaganciasqueenamoran

After many years, I bought it again. While it remains a rich perfume, a fragrance distinct from those used today, it has lost intensity and seems to have become ‘shy’. It’s very hard to find in Argentina. Check that it is original and pay a high price, over 200 dollars. The same has happened with two fragrances I love: Magie Noire also by Lancôme and Junte by Kenzo, both transformed into cute kittens after being magnificent long-maned lions. I think perfumes accompany society; in a ‘light’ society, perfumes are too. And this beautiful fragrance Poême is now a lovely perfume, different, but without the surprises that made it memorable.

  • rodrigo1995

Incredible its longevity on my skin. It lasts a very long time, exceeding 10 hours, and even after 10 hours, it can be perceived in bursts while you move. My skin might have matched with it. It could be a bit overwhelming for some noses. The bottle is beautiful and feels like a lovely floral. It’s a bit pricey, and given its price, it hurts to use it as a daily perfume. It was launched in the year of my birth. Love.

  • jerry drake

Love is a ‘Poeme’. Do you know the difference between falling in love and already being in love? Exactly, because perhaps it doesn’t exist. Falling in love is a strange sensation, like taking a leap into the unknown without ever landing. A constant feeling of lightness, total harmony, and freedom that makes you breathe deeply. Of course, having no destination can be disturbing, but how beautiful is it to fly, knowing that two people can do it together? Especially if the person in question is a wonderfully coordinated ensemble that reflects beauty, intelligence, modernity, attentiveness, and affection in equal measure, completed with a wonderful smile. And now no one can stop me from flying so high. For all this, I will gift you this wonderfully dazzling, exuberant train of flowers that, like you, has completely captivated me, sensitive and dreamy, yet independent and strong at the same time. Poême is truly a peacock’s wheel of orange fruits and flowers, iridescent, proud, and beautiful; it does not hold back its charms and reveals itself completely in all its facets and in grand style. Almost all flowers that can be used in a perfume are here: present, conscious, and secure: jasmine, angel’s trumpet, neroli, and ylang-ylang, strong feminine creatures, each with its own character. Add to this a festival of fruits and a slightly sweet forest… and, miraculously, you will realise that it is never too much. The poem is opulent and powerful, full of softness, sensitive and dreamy, feminine and floral, but sometimes a bit shy, like a star that fades and then shines intensely again before sinking. A fragrance with so much to tell: about happiness, longing, and the fear of losing everything. Of white flowers, sweet fruits, and ylang-ylang. Of the 90s in all its terrible beauty. About life and being a woman: lioness and sensitive, devoted and fearless in love. And that we are all stardust. You know I will wait for you as long as it takes. Nothing will happen if you don’t want it, and there is nothing I wouldn’t do to have you always. Perhaps one night, for an instant, everything will change and you will be the only one: my Poême.

  • Villa Caligari

Poême by Lancôme: the perfume of a bygone era, the splendour of the 90s, yet when experienced, it feels timeless, distant, present, and futuristic. Poême has no age or era, because it is a poem for the woman of all times. Poême is an elixir, as if an angel had kept its voice in the bottle. Poême is liquid gold, crafted by magical fairies in a forest at dusk. A floral bouquet, elegant, unpretentious, and powerful. Poême is the concentration of all flowers within a bottle, bathed in the pulp of all fruits. Poême is a valley, a forest, a lake, and a mountain. It’s as if the essence of the most fragrant spring afternoon that ever existed on the planet at its purest moment was captured in time. Yellow flowers, followed by white flowers, fruits, woods. Natural. Realistic. A whole poem, a poem for the woman. This perfume must touch the skin. I recommend spraying it on the body before dressing, stepping out of a relaxing hot shower. After body cream, apply it to the legs, shoulders, ribs, and waist. Dare to apply it to the feet too, to walk calmly and dreamily.

  • That characteristic note of yellow flowers so typical of the 90s is almost non-existent in new designs. Now it’s all vanilla and pear, zero originality. It’s boring. They could make anything for every taste. But no, everyone and everyone has to smell the same.

  • Poême is beauty without ostentation, sweetness without sentimentality, and elegance without distance. Its floral notes are one hundred percent nineties; when sumptuous, excessively sweet, and spiced perfumes were invading us in droves, Poême stood out because it contains many of those notes but harmoniously tempered by some dry, green notes that accompany it wonderfully. It’s a perfume that can be worn in any season or stage of life, though I think it suits a woman of middle age best. On the skin of a mature woman, I believe it becomes spicier and more intimate. It is a perfume of classic beauty, and like all classic beauty, it is timeless.

  • LuxemFerre

I tried it last week on my skin at a Lancôme counter in my city, and honestly, it has nothing to envy from Expression de Ésika. They share an almost identical DNA, perhaps even more so, but the opening reveals quite a difference. Poême lasts a little longer, but if you’re looking for a good, pretty, and affordable alternative to alternate between, Expression de Ésika is definitely the choice.
