My mother gifted this to me for my final year of university, right when I wanted to give up; she encouraged me to keep going and pursue what I truly loved. At 21, I wore it in Heidelberg during my Erasmus exchange, amidst those mild, unpredictable autumns. It lasted until late November, the perfect season for this fragrance. I remember rainy days walking through the old town after classes; seeing that landscape with this scent was incredible. I wore it out at night, and after travelling, it still lingered the next morning, even on my leather jacket—the longevity is infinite. My first trips to Paris, Munich, Prague, and my favourite city, Berlin, are stored in this little bottle of purple rose. It is sweet, sensual, and mysterious, putting me in tune with my deepest emotions and allowing my sensitivity to flourish as I enjoyed the beauty around me, stimulating all five senses and helping me make my first steps in projecting myself as someone committed to art. A true gem.

They are similar and yet different. They share beauty and intensity but play the game differently. Angel Nova is pure impact, immediate charisma, guilt-free pleasure, hedonism, and vanity from end to end. It does not reflect; it is like a cold, pink champagne, bubbly, excessive, and happy to be looked at. It does not promise depth; it promises enjoyment and delivers. Trésor Midnight Rose, on the other hand, seduces with ideas. It has authority, character, and a delicious darkness. It does not intoxicate quickly; it convinces, it negotiates with you. In short, it is like a deep red wine, something astringent, elegant, that unfolds slowly. It does not seek applause; perhaps it seeks adherence. Both are beautiful, yes. But one conquers by brilliance and the other by gravity.

  3. To me, it is elegant, modern, and sparkling. The juicy opening gives it dynamism, while the fresh, fruity rose adds contemporary elegance. I believe it is an excellent choice for women entering the workforce and also a great blind buy gift.

  4. Unlike Nova, this is a finer, more elegant version, I agree. Nova is youthful and more relaxed. They only resemble each other slightly in the dry-down, but Midnight is more complex and elegant, even mysterious. Lancôme always has class.

  5. I am very impressed by the similarity between Angel Nova EDP and this fragrance, both in its opening (more fruity) and its heart; however, the dry-down of Trésor Midnight Rose is much finer and more seductive. I agree with those who describe it as a mysterious perfume; it truly feels like a nocturnal rose, seductive and slightly dark. Personally, I am wearing it in autumn, and it gives me that same sensation. All the declared notes are quite perceptible, resulting in a very elegant smoky dry-down that elevates the fragrance. The main notes I perceive most are raspberry, rose, pink pepper, and an intense woody base, almost smoky. The raspberry accords come through at times to mark their presence, and there is also a very subtle green note that adds freshness. As a single negative point, I have a bottle from 2024 and it seems its longevity and sillage have diminished, despite the formula being somewhat oily. The projection is moderate, though noticeable with movement. For me, it is suitable for day and night wear during autumn and winter. A sweet aroma in just the right measure, seductive in a romantic and nocturnal setting. A coquettish bottle in a lovely shade, now a classic of Lancôme at this stage.

It is a very exquisite perfume; they say it resembles Angel Nova… what??? Please, it has nothing to do with that scent. This is an enveloping and addictive aroma; it does not resemble the aforementioned one at all. It leaves a huge trail, and with a few sprays, you last all day. I had two small bottles of that perfume, ideally for autumn and winter, but I used it with 30 degrees of heat.

  7. Ufff, what can I say about this beauty? First, I bought it blind, taking a risk because many voted that it resembles Angel Nova… and it is true. Trésor Midnight Rose has a spectacular opening of roses that are not at all powdery, but soft and velvety, with super sparkling red fruits. Then the red fruits continue to be felt but with a soapy touch and very nocturnal at the same time (Angel Nova feels less of roses and is more fruity and versatile). It is a bomb, leaves a lot of trail, and lasted about 8 hours on skin; it lasts even longer on clothes. It is incredible and mysterious, and the bottle is beautiful, like all in this line. I recommend buying blind for those who are fanatics of Angel Nova, although do not expect it to be the clone.

I am testing it thanks to a sample of a dupe. It has a rich opening where I catch the raspberry, a bit of pepper, and the rose. The problem is that the latter transforms into a powdery scent, and soon I start smelling vanilla and jasmine, which reminds me of an older lady and turns me off. Perhaps it does not happen with the original.

  9. I summarise it in one word: sublime. It is a delicate, creamy fragrance of flowers and sweet red fruits in a delicious balance. It has a medium trail; on me, it lasts 3-4 hours. It is sweet, sexy, ideal for the evening in cool climates. One cannot deny that it is related to Tresor, my perfume from the early 90s, with a loud cherry that made everyone smell my passing. This Trésor Midnight Rose is a beautiful perfume, one to keep.

  10. It is my favourite perfume!! (and I have about 10). A sweet raspberry with blackcurrants and some roses. I wore it on the day of my mother’s birthday, so I have a special affection for it. It has good sillage and longevity. I find it sexy and with a lot of personality. I heard they were going to discontinue it; I hope not. Perfectly usable on a romantic date and in winter.

  11. With over 200 perfumes in my collection, this is one of the few I finish and buy again, already on my third bottle. I adore it! It’s such an addictive, enveloping, nocturnal, winter raspberry scent… I love it! Plus, its trail and longevity are on another level. PERFUMON!

  12. I love it; I discovered it as an alternative and already want the original. It’s versatile, long-lasting, clean, intense yet not intrusive… it’s the first on my wishlist. By the way, in my opinion it resembles Angel Nova, but I prefer this one, so I own both. This smells more versatile and mature.

  13. I love it so much I thought I’d already written a review, but I hadn’t. It’s my chosen perfume since I first encountered it and fell head over heels. I placed it on the pedestal reserved for just one perfume; it’s the one that captivates me the most. For me, it’s ideal, day or night. It’s elegant, captivating, with that floral yet spicy opening: you sense the rose, but not a sharp one, mixed with fruit, the raspberry, and that kick of pink pepper. With this, I discovered that among my favourites must be those containing pink pepper, because it adds that soft spicy touch and prolongs the floral and fruity aroma. It’s truly a delight. I don’t understand why some don’t like it, though I respect every opinion as we all feel differently; yet this perfume seems so special, so well-crafted and exquisite, that I doubt I’ll stop using it for many years. Its trail is immense and its longevity too, needless to say on clothes, where it lingers for a long time. Sometimes I wear a foulard without specifically spraying perfume, and just by being near my neck it becomes impregnated. Its durability is incredible. I don’t understand how people can say it lacks longevity; I think all Lancôme perfumes stand out for that, for their great persistence. I could talk for hours about this perfume; it’s inspiring, wonderful, poetic, the most beautiful thing I’ve tried in years. It has become my favourite and will stay there for a long time, definitely.

  14. Its opening is 100% citrus; the flowers are drowned under an acidic juice of green lemon and blackcurrants. Nothing sweet or sexy, rather a unique scent, and I also sense something metallic that leans towards citrus as it dries. I haven’t liked it at all; try it because I believe it’s not for everyone’s taste. I don’t sense this brand’s DNA in this perfume: it’s harsh, far from elegant or balanced, a disappointment.

I came to this perfume after selling my Angel Nova and using Very Good Girl. Certainly it resembles Nova but isn’t as sharp or acidic. Additionally, it has a green note that Nova lacks. If I have to choose, I prefer Trésor. It smells good but doesn’t drive me crazy. I’ll give my 30ml bottle more opportunities.

  16. I’m obsessed with this perfume; the mix of raspberry and vanilla is my thing, but beware, over time it gives me nausea, perhaps due to the pink pepper. What a pity because the longevity is brutal and the scent is a marvel if you can endure that dizziness.

It’s my perfume of a lifetime; I met it thanks to a friend’s mother when I was a child, and it imprinted itself on my soul. I don’t know how many bottles I’ve bought, but unfortunately the price skyrocketed and now it’s a luxury. Midnight Rose is elegant, mysterious, sweet and addictive; it has made me receive many compliments and I feel beautiful every time I wear it.

  18. I bought it on a trip and it was a mistake. I don’t like the blackcurrant scent at all. It’s okay for the evening, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

  19. I met this perfume this year while testing Trésor samples. The bottle and its shape caught my attention. It’s a milky, tender and seductive perfume, like an adolescent love, of roses macerated in cream with red fruits and an acidic touch. At first it seems innocent, but it lingers on clothes and skin for hours, even the next day. In the dry-down, the musk emerges and it remains soft and delicate. I like it; it’s very enveloping, ideal for afternoons-evenings and romantic days, though not my perfume of a lifetime.

  20. It’s an absolute must-have for me. I first tried it during the height of the pandemic, with masks on; I got a sample on a tiny piece of paper and kept it in my handbag to smell whenever I needed a boost, as it was so addictive. Until I finally bought it, and oh my, I nearly cried with joy. I’ve already ordered it three times and will keep doing so: it’s perfect. It’s impossible to describe; you just have to experience it.

  21. This perfume has a special place in my heart. I met it almost at the start, in a bad time. I had work but no money or acquaintances; I went into a Sears to kill time and a young lady offered me a sample. It was love at first sniff; I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist and promised myself that one day it would be mine. Thanks to my efforts, years later I got a 75ml bottle. I enjoyed it immensely: it’s mysterious, feminine and addictive, perfect for autumn/winter. I don’t know another that makes me feel this way. I still keep my bottle, although only 1ml remains; it’s a trophy that bad streaks pass and goals are achieved. I hope to buy a refill soon. I love this perfume!

  22. At first, this and Le Belle by Nina Ricci seemed similar to me, but once they dry down, they are very different. It’s a very versatile perfume that I believe works all year round, day or night, depending on how many sprays you use. It has decent sillage and projection, without being intrusive.

Previously, I refused to fall for the 2021/2022 hype, especially given the comparison with Angel Nova. I already owned Nova EDP, which is lovely and has earned me countless compliments (in fact, the most after Alien), and honestly, I didn’t like comparing it to Tresor Midnight. I don’t know why I never picked up this one or In Love; perhaps their bottles didn’t catch my eye, but now that I own them: WOW, now I understand the love for this fragrance. It’s a super juicy, fresh dark rose, with a sweet raspberry note but with a tart fruit twist. It gives Nova the sweetness and juiciness it was missing. The similarity is undeniable, around 90%… I think Tresor Midnight is an excellent sweeter alternative, especially because Nova will be discontinued and only closing stock remains. I’ll update the review with more wear time; for now, these are first impressions. Scent: 10/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10, Bottle: 9/10, Season: 🍁❄️🌸, Occasions: every day, especially evenings and nights.

  24. It’s one of my favourites; a rich scent: vanilla-infused raspberries with musk. It’s quite similar to Mugler’s Angel Nova. I’d wear it day or night, in winter, spring, or summer evenings. It’s one of those that reveals itself with a breeze; you feel it with movement and as your body temperature changes.

  25. I already have it. It’s a slightly sweet fragrance without being cloying, mysterious and nocturnal. I detect quite a bit of raspberry and blackcurrant. It’s rich, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

As a man, it smells super feminine and I love it. The raspberry leads from start to finish, a note I prefer in a woman. In the air, it’s exquisite, but on skin at first, not so much; then, with the vanilla and florals settling in, the blend becomes rich and delicious. It’s sweet but light, ideal for fresh days, autumn, or winter. If I imagine a woman wearing this, I definitely would. If I go out with someone who smells like this, I find them very attractive and pleasant.

Someone told me that Tresor Midnight Rose was a dupe of Promesse. I barely heard it without spraying it and thought there was nothing to do with it. But upon trying it, if someone wore it and said it was Promesse, I wouldn’t doubt it for a second; it’s impossible to spot the lie. They are very hard to distinguish. Tresor keeps the darker, more enigmatic, and less cheerful part of the original, that mystery that makes you wonder which note strikes, which it retains. Although it lacks something in the immediate dry down. Once sprayed, they are 95% identical, almost twins, not exact copies. They are identical when dried down. I love them.

Mysterious and sexy, ideal for the night. The best thing is to try it before buying and avoid it in the heat; I use it in winter and it goes great with clothes; its longevity is incredible, lasting for days.

It has an air I can’t explain; it’s the scent of an elegant, sophisticated princess, over 30, romantic and sexy with a mysterious touch. I see it for going out at night, ideal for semi-formal or formal events. It’s pleasant and addictive, with raspberry as the star. The pepper is there but doesn’t sting, and the rose is very delicate. It doesn’t smell of individual notes, but of a harmonious blend. You can tell the quality: it lasts more than 12 hours on skin and projects strongly for about 4 hours, then fades gradually. What I love most is that I feel it all the time.

  30. I tried it in 2012 and didn’t see the point, selling it because at 21 I only wanted fresh and sweet things. Now I claim it with gusto; it’s beautiful, warm, and with a spicy touch. Uff, I need it now. Lancôme and I get along well; I love almost everything by them (except LVEB).
