Descripción

Alada by Myrurgia is a floral musky woody fragrance for women. Launched in 1979, this composition was created by perfumer Ramon Monegal. The top notes unfold with a vibrant citrus blend of lemon, lime, mandarin, sage, and peach; the heart reveals a delicate floral bouquet of carnation, jasmine, spicy notes, and cyclamen; while the base settles on oakmoss, cedar, leather, and musk.

  • Mediterranean

My first perfume, along with Agua Profunda. I adored it. My mother bought it for me when I was 14, and I wore it throughout my secondary school years. Later, I bought one to recapture those old times, but they had changed it. In some way, it was a great disappointment and the final blow to an era of personal insecurities and disillusionments. Fortunately, some things change for the better with time.

My first perfume, worn alongside Deep Water. My mother gifted it to me at fourteen, and I wore it throughout my entire secondary school years. Later, I bought one out of nostalgia, only to find it had been reformulated. It was a great letdown and marked the end of a chapter filled with insecurities. Fortunately, some things do improve with age.

  • I remember it as part of my childhood because my mother used it alongside Blue Grass by E. Arden. I would go to nursery school and she would anoint my hair, all neat and tidy. Blue Grass is still available, but what about Alada? I haven’t seen it again and I can’t find anything here in Mexico. If I saw it in a shop, I would buy it without a doubt; it smells so clean and fresh. I used it after a bath and I love it.

Alada is childhood memories, the first kiss, rebellion, the bells, and friends. I loved it so much. What a shame they’ve stopped making it. It resembles Femme Angel by Schlesser and a Playboy men’s cologne with a coloured label.

Alada is childhood memories, the first kiss, adolescence, rebellion, the bells, and friends. I adored it. What a pity they stopped making it. There are colognes that resemble Alada, such as Femme Angel by Schlesser and a men’s one from Playboy with a coloured label.

  • Someone in my circle used this and I can’t remember who. I do recall buying one from the same house, AMARANDE, which was blue, and alternating it with TES. Later came DON ALGODÓN and one from the MANGO house… what times those were… What scents 😍

  • Candycandy40

An 80s classic that I wore in my youth alongside Aqua Prima, Tess, and Anarande. I don’t know why they aren’t reissuing it; they were great creations at a good price. An ode to Myrurgia and good memories.

  • Candycandy40

A great classic of the 80s. I wore it during my teenage years alongside other greats like Aqua Prima, Tess, and Anarande… I don’t know why they don’t get mentioned anymore; they were wonderful creations at good prices. A tribute to the Myrurgia house, which brought us such fond memories. What a pity they disappeared.

  • I cannot comment on the original as time has claimed it; only the ‘Besos de Alada’ version remains, whose packaging I find embarrassing, though I may try it someday. In the nineties, pepper and summer fruits displaced woody florals like Estivalia, Vereda, Deep Water, and Alada itself. I had it at thirteen or fourteen; my mother warned me it was too strong for a girl, and I made no comment. I loved it because it was fresh yet not as weak as Nenuco. In appearance, it was formal, yet one could imagine it worn by a biker in a leather jacket. It had character and complexity, seeming unisex. I still keep the scented wipes, and comparing them to Playboy Generation for Him, I am glad to have the latter. Despite being dry, the lingering scent smells exactly the same. Blessed are those who find Alada at a good price. EDIT: On 30/12/21, I found an old chemist. It was a time bubble from the seventies and eighties. There were interesting items, but it wasn’t Ali Baba’s cave. I was longing for Louis Philippe, Myrurgia, Puig fragrances like Zambra, Moanas, Tess, or Eau Dorée. Curiously, there was Only by Julio Iglesias, which I had no memory of. Prices were high, except for Oasis and Alada, which the gentleman gave away almost for free. A miracle! I found both resurrected. I left there euphoric with a 50ml bottle for €11. The reunion was jubilous: it was impeccable. It smelled fresh and sparkling, with childish citrus, bleached carnations of jasmine, and a challenging base of leather and moss. Cheery like a baby in a biker’s dummy. It doesn’t last long, about 3-4 hours. The similarities with Playboy Generation for Him remain, though the latter is sweetened with pineapple and more intense woody notes. Alada blooms floral, herbal, and slightly sweetly spiced. In the dry-down, the resemblance is astonishing. 2021 departs with joy. Alada returns to my collection in a privileged place. And I, delighted. EDIT AGAIN 11/02/22: I found an article from El Mundo from 2003 featuring quotes from famous noses. Monegal said it entered through the front door at twenty, a great success, though he thought it was a dud because marketing created a minaret-style bottle with a black cap. He only got the green box. A dud, he says… Ramón, man, I cannot imagine my adolescence without Alada.

  • I can’t say much as time has swallowed it, leaving only the ‘Besos de Alada’ version, which gives me the creeps. In the 90s, fruits and spices arrived to take the place of woody florals like this. I had it at 13, and my mother said it was too strong for a girl, but I loved it because it was fresh without being weak. It seemed formal yet had character, even unisex. I still have scented wipes and compared one to Playboy Generation for Him; although the wipe was dry, they smelled similar. If anyone finds a cheap bottle of Alada, it’s pure gold. In December 2021, I found an old chemist with crazy prices but they gave two items free: Oasis and Alada. I took 50 ml for 11 euros and it was perfect. Juvenile citrus, jasmine carnations, and a base of leather and moss. It lasted 3-4 hours. It resembles Playboy at the end, but Alada is more floral and spiced. I was overjoyed to have it back again. I read an article from 2003 saying it was a success, even though the creator called it a ‘churro’ due to the oriental bottle they put on it. But I can’t imagine my adolescence without Alada.

I join the choir of the nostalgic asking why classics aren’t reissued. I spoke to an expert who told me that when one house absorbs another, they can’t legally use the same formula 100%. They can copy the name and the packaging, but the essence changes and it makes us want to cry. That is the only reason.

  • Susana en esencia

I owned this in my teenage days, and the photos of the bottle bring me pure joy, even if I can’t quite recall the scent; I do remember all the feelings it gave me when I sprayed it on. I would love to have it back to relive those moments and those people. What a pity they won’t bring it back; pure nostalgia.

  • This was my signature fragrance during the crazy years, alongside Eau Jeune Fleur, and I miss it dearly. Smelling it again would be like travelling back to my adolescence, to innocence and first loves. Perhaps it wasn’t quite as good as I remember, but it will always hold a special place in my memory.

  • Auntie gifted it to me and I was absolutely smitten, but then I did some research and got a fright: it’s no longer sold, only collectors are offering it at gold prices. What a shame they’ve discontinued it; it was unique and lasted up to two days on my skin, nothing else has performed like this. If anyone knows of a similar scent, please let me know.
