  1. Sidonie: Playboy Generation! What a coincidence to find you… Playboy Generation: Pardon? Do we know each other? S: Hey, I’ve been told you look like Alada! (Claps) PB G: And who is that? S: The fragrance we wore in the 80s and early 90s. One day, the earth swallowed it and I was left devastated. Do you really resemble her? PB G: Listen, I think there’s a misunderstanding here… S: Come on, give me a sniff. PB G: A sniff???? S: I mean, let me spray you… PB G: (Huff) Pffffft… S: Oh wow, such a fresh and citrusy opening, just like my Alada. And you carry sage, just like my Alada. PB G: You’re too fine… It’s not sage, it’s lavender. But look, it’s just… S: Shh, you’re distracting me. Spices, there are spices here too, but I sense you’re a bit sweeter. Hey, aren’t you wearing pineapple? I don’t mind, you know, but don’t go all Vanderbilt on me, because if you kick, a hundred come out. PB G: Yes, it’s pineapple, but listen… S: Oh, the leather… You carry leather just like my Alada! But how you resemble her! Citrusy and woody, innocent but a bit naughty. That said, I notice you’re a bit testosterone-heavy. Could it be there’s not enough flower? Something has been done to you… PB G: (Second huff) It must be the tonka bean… S: I don’t care, you’re adorable, just like her. PB G: Don’t get sappy and listen once and for all, I… S: It’s as if I’m with her again. That said, let it be clear: there will never be another like her. PB G: (Third huff) Thanks for the part that’s mine. Should I take this as a compliment? S: Of course, I really like you. PB G: Well, I’m sorry to say that… S: I’ve crossed oceans of time to find you!!!!! PB G: ENOUGH!!!! I’m trying to tell you there’s a problem. S: A problem? Which one? PB G: I’M A MAN!!!!! S: Well, nobody is perfect. PB G: So, will you use me then? S: Of course, I’ve already told you I really like you. PB G: There you go, darling… NOTE: This outrageously dramatized comparison between Alada and Playboy Generation for Him is based on the olfactory pyramids published on Fragrantica, the scant aroma left on a sample wipe of Alada that I sacrificed for the occasion, and the distant but still vivid memory I have of it. I can say they are not identical, but the resemblance between them is very notable. I found Playboy Generation for Him at Makeup at a laughable price and it’s currently out of stock, but I suppose they’ll restock it. As a men’s fragrance, and from a female perspective, I find it delightful.

It’s a fresh fragrance with very distinct notes, particularly the pineapple and fruity opening. The heart notes offer good projection, leaning sweet but with a dry contrasting touch. The base is slightly darker. It’s very wearable for everyday use and has its own personality. The value for money is excellent; you can find it for between 5 and 12 euros, including a 100ml boxed version, a 24-hour deodorant spray, and shower gel.
