  What a stunning opening and what a letdown when it dries. It starts with a natural, deep, almost overwhelming ambergris blended with resins and conifers, but then settles into a beige musk-skin scent that’s boring, with a watery trail that doesn’t really stick.

  To me, it has nothing to do with Dior or Xerjoff. Like others from this house, it has a note that’s too masculine that I can’t quite identify. It’ll be the last one I buy from here. It could work on a man, but it’s neither unique nor special: it’s just rose and amber, with an DNA that smells like dozens of other perfumes.

  The opening didn’t convince me at all; a sharp, ambered scent mixed with spices that I didn’t like. Not very pleasant at first, but when it dried, it revealed a powdery, citrusy rose that changed my perception. What stands out most is the radical change after just a few minutes, like magic. It’s like receiving a ugly package you don’t like, but when you open it, a beautiful rose comes out. The opening is horrible, the drydown a sexy, powdery rose with lemon. It’s not for me; it’s very much on the feminine side and reminds me of many spiced rose fragrances. It adds nothing new or special.
