Thameen is a house seemingly obsessed with doing nothing original and copying great creations from others. Their launch is a declaration of intent, nothing good. Why? If you want to release your own fragrance following the line of Tuscan or Ombré Leather, make it different, not so similar, and less decaffeinated, with less projection and longevity. Does it smell good? Of course, it copies 85% of something liked. But the alternatives are better in quality, aroma, projection, longevity, and price. Bad Thameen, very bad…
Thameen seems to only know how to copy the best of others without putting their own face on it. Their attempt at an original fragrance is a total failure: it resembles Tuscan or Ombré Leather by 85%, but more diluted, with less projection and longevity. It smells good, yes, but why pay more for an inferior version when there are better alternatives in every way? Very disappointing.
Is it a leather scent? Very different. I don’t understand why ‘Leather’ is in the name as it doesn’t smell like leather as we know it. To me, it’s vanilla and saffron from start to finish. Only when sniffed up close is there a distant, soft leather note. Nothing of a leather jacket, animalic, or dirty. It’s a special aroma worth trying. I still don’t know its longevity or sillage for sure; we’ll keep you posted. I need to wear it more. It is good, complex, and well-made, that’s not in dispute. But it just doesn’t convince me… it’s missing something, I don’t know what. It lacks a spark.
Is it a leather scent? The name is misleading as it doesn’t smell like classic, animalic leather or a leather jacket. To me, it’s vanilla and saffron from the very first second, with a very soft, distant leather note at the base. It’s a special and well-made aroma, but it lacks a spark. I’m not sure if it fully convinces me, although it’s worth trying to see if with more wear I find the point it’s missing.
