Amber Aoud by Roja Dove

Roja Dove Amber Aoud is an oriental floral amber scent that evokes royalty in an encounter between East and West. It opens with a floral amber accord with bright citrus sparkles. Then, the citrus fades and the rose takes centre stage. Cinnamon and saffron give it a spicy, warm touch, while fig adds juiciness and relaxation. The rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang create an elegant floral that is enchanting. Ambergris and benzoin form a sweet, almost vanilla-like base that wraps everything in a warm cloud. The oud in the base creates a dark foundation that highlights the other notes. Hours later, you notice the civet, light and elegant. It is an unequalled quality floral, centred on rose and amber with an oud base. Dense, soft, fine, with spicy and dark nuances. Longevity approx. 15 hours, moderate projection for the first 5 hours.

How difficult it is to find an Oud that even perfume lovers enjoy. I had high expectations with this one. They say it is a wearable oud, but I detest the tobacco note terribly, and this one contains it. It tends towards the masculine side.

Good quality, but it hasn’t pleased me enough to recommend it. Thanks to a fortunate encounter with a generous and knowledgeable couple, I was able to try this Roja Dove Amber Oud. It starts with a citrus note, very well achieved, natural, soapy and alcohol-free, with a strong but not intrusive imprint, as a prelude to an aromatic rose that heads a secondary, orderly fruity development. The base is complex with a hint of animal notes mitigated by a swirl of indeterminate high-quality notes that, although they do not contrast, slightly obscure the clear reference. Lots of quality done with a broad brush. Good longevity and projection. It is appreciated because the result is pleasant (although not memorable). It is okay, but the price is high. If you want to impress with the scent, I do not see it as the best option; there are others, some cheaper, to boost the ego with compliments. It is a good fragrance, but I am not sure if it justifies its price.

Sweet, sweet Cyprus. How much I adore you. Your abundant fruits, your bitter mosses, your filthy musks. Come to me and wrap me in your riches. I have to admit I feel a bit foolish wearing it in a normal car, but at work or at home, no one knows… I am a king! It is so well blended and celestial: every use reveals new riches. The first was a sweet rose, fig and jam, opulent and initially a bit sickly, but once you get used to it, it is so good. Backed by salty ambergris and the buzz of agarwood. Very sexy, very wealthy. The next use opened up the oakmoss, birch and cinnamon. A totally different side. Beautiful and intelligent. The next time the ylang-ylang came out. I was expecting a different type of amber: orange glue mosquitoes (vanilla and resins) with a bit of oud. I would be thrilled if I could smell any oud, certainly not enough to justify the name! In general, it is an incredibly luxurious sweet fig, Cyprus ylang-ylang. Precious as hell. Possibly with a bit of creamy, woody oud for body, and ambergris for the salty touch. It is so luxurious, almost soft, and its sharp edges are softened with luxury. When is it so good, who needs sharp edges? It has a very rich scent. And it will have to be rich to pay for it.

A beautiful perfume that offers a subtle, soft and warm oud through the rose. It is exquisite, very rich and pleasant. You can feel the quality of Roja Dove; I detect a green, fruity citrus note. It smells like a perfume worthy of a sultan, very elegant and spiced. It is a beauty. One of those perfumes that leave a mark, a brand and a wave of mystery. It is tremendous.
