A worm crawled out of the apple… 🍎🐛🤢 Opens with dominant apple, sweet nutty notes, and a liqueur touch. The tobacco is only in the name; you have to imagine it as it barely adds nuances. It smells like rich children’s shampoo, sharp on the nose, and powerful. The problem is having it soaked into you all day: a burst might be nice, but living with it isn’t. At 37€ for 137ml it’s not cheap; I prefer other brands. It disappoints me alongside Murkwood and Fanghorn II; it seems they arrived late to the party. Today it leaves me with neither the apple nor the tobacco. Just pass me a banana 🍌.
A worm crawled out of the apple… 🍎🐛🤢 Apple Tabac ➡ opens with a prominent apple accord that dominates the perfume and is joined by sweet nutty notes and a touch of alcohol. The tobacco is something you have to imagine because it only exists in the name and is present in such low quantities that it merely adds nuances, yet you still have to conjure those nuances and perform a very potent mental exercise to try and smell it. In the end, it’s a scent that children might find familiar and rich, as it smells like rich apple-scented children’s shampoo. Don’t I convince you? Smell it and remove your doubt. It also leaves a slightly sharp impression on the nose. The perfume is powerful, and I think that’s the worst part; having this soaked into you for so many hours. If someone wears it and a burst of its scent reaches you, you might enjoy it for an instant. But one thing is a scent reaching your nose, and another very different thing is wearing it and living with it. Us137 at 37€ for 137ml isn’t cheap, although the price seems standard for indie perfumery; I prefer to spend it on other brands. It feels like an overwrought offering, unisex-masculine. The perfume disappoints me, and along with Murkwood and Fanghorn II, nothing from this house has excited me so far, and I’ve already heard similar things from other houses like Slumberhouse and Prin Lomros. It seems they arrived late to the party. If I had heard this six years ago, I would have been surprised. Today, it’s not the case. I understand the brand’s theme, but I feel their offerings are redundant. What about Apple Tabac? I didn’t get the apple, nor the tobacco (because it doesn’t smell). Just pass me a banana 🍌 instead.
An interesting scent because, within the gourmand category, its focus feels more extensive than others, and I believe I can say it miraculously contains no vanilla. It smells of red apple, which is original, or at least I don’t know of any other like it. This note has a very powerful and dominant presence in the opening for the first half-hour, then drops to a reasonable level. However, it then broadens with a base that I assume comes from the nuts I can’t quite identify as such, or the supposed tobacco I don’t smell as such. A significant part of its strength comes from a liqueur-like nuance in the style of Slumberhouse (liqueur + fruit), followed by a coniferous or dark green base that adds a touch of darkness. I liked this combination of fruit without it being a sweet peach (the red apple seems original); it’s a gourmand due to its edible quality, with a nocturnal liqueur touch and a dark edge. I’d say that within its category, it’s versatile regarding occasions and the character of the person wearing it. Its performance is spectacular for the apparent naturalness of the formula. It projects at the level of powerful niche bombs for the first half-hour, and its longevity on the skin is record-breaking: 15 hours with total clarity and still perceptible after 24 hours. With one hand (and I have plenty of fingers left), I can count what’s on the market with such power while being something fruity and ‘natural’.
A curious scent within the gourmands: it doesn’t smell of vanilla, but of powerful, original red apple. The opening is dominant for about half an hour, then subsides but broadens with a base of nuts and that Slumberhouse-style liqueur touch that gives it darkness. It’s an edible fruit without being a sweet peach, versatile, and with beastly performance: it projects like a niche bomb and lasts 15 clear hours, with a trail at 24 hours. With one hand, I can count how many are as powerful and natural.
Today was my SOTD and it lasted from 9 am until 3 am; it’s incredible. I’m a huge fan of apple scents, so I’m quite fascinated by this perfume, although I expected a sharper tobacco note; this one feels very tobacco-heavy and soft in my opinion. The nutty notes are barely noticeable, and while it’s definitely worth buying (I’m a big fan of Pineward), the apple note leans towards leather: if you don’t like it, you’ll hate it.
