  Having tried this perfume, I must say it’s the most mass-appealing fragrance in the entire brand, and I’m not saying that in a derogatory way. I simply believe it’s designed with current tastes in mind, which is why it’s an aroma that isn’t too assertive or likely to surprise you greatly. The previous scents are a little more austere, with most leaning towards green notes: green-spicy, green-smoky, less so than Tumbsucker, which is gourmand and very honeyed. As for my personal taste, I’d sooner go with Silphium, Mistpouffer, or Moonmilk. I detect quite a bit of blood orange in the opening, which over time evolves into a fruity/sweet/ambery scent. It’s not really my type of smell, but it’s well-made, very balanced, with no single component standing out too much; it’s made to please. I’d also add that it doesn’t cause olfactory fatigue sooner or fade faster than other fragrances from the brand.

  Hello Fragrantica: the ‘nuts’ note is mistranslated; it should be ‘dried fruit’ 🙂 Azalai smells exactly like that – a slightly sharp amber driven by saffron, yet where the dried fruits from an Eastern bazaar truly shine above all. Sweet, ‘exotic’ (toned down for a European nose, so don’t be alarmed), evocative and very wearable. I’m dying for autumn to start so I can wear the 2ml sample I have in hand and decide if it deserves a bottle (hopefully it does, because the bottle is divine, like all of Stora Skuggan’s).
