To be honest, I liked it much more than the Wood Essence. I’m not sure if it smells of woods or not, but it seems exquisite, super pleasant, with a spark and especially attractive on hot days. I tested it several times and I’m convinced to buy it.
This fragrance blew my mind. In my case, the sillage lasts 3 hours and it endures for about 7. It smells like freshly sawn green wood (something like that). I like it very much.
Oh, oh… Very refined, like everything Bvlgari. But so refined, I must say, somewhat weak and muted, suitable for intimate use, without stridency or the need to compete. I detect soft, juicy lemons, ‘enthusiastic’ with noble cedar, giving a rough yet elegant imprint, with a harmonious, sweet, mossy and modern benzoin. The heart creates an illusion of potency, but it fades, becoming shy and formal. It was surely made for that.
Magnificent fragrance, the essence of the forest. Little talked about but well worth it. It comes out with a cypress and wood aroma that evokes a rainy, fresh forest. Imagine carving a pine leaf and enjoying its scent. I see it as brilliant for daily wear, as a signature. It projects an image of a mature, responsible person; ideal for those over 25, but if you’re young and like it, go ahead. Longevity 6-8 hours on my skin, good projection for the first hour. Very masculine and pleasant. If you want to smell different and receive compliments, it’s ideal. Follow me on YouTube and Instagram for more reviews.
I bought it blind and was slightly disappointed. I had Bvlgari Man and was expecting something similar with more intense woods. It has no relation to the original: it opens with slightly sweet citrus, not cloying, and then the woods aren’t from a humid forest, but sawn, urban, domesticated. It smells good, elegant, pleases most people, ideal for daily wear or work. Projection is about a metre for the first 30 minutes, then skin scent. Maximum longevity is 5 hours. Weak points are longevity and projection, as with most scents nowadays.
It never sparked my interest, but I was given it as a gift and, to be honest, I liked it. I don’t find that ‘woodland depth’; I perceive it more as a sweet, juicy vetiver. It has a soapy, neat feel. It’s not strictly masculine; for a moment, it even seemed feminine to me, so I see it as unisex with a masculine leaning. Scent: 8, Longevity: 6, Projection: 6, Sillage: 6, Versatility: 9.
To be honest, I only detect citrus and wood. Nothing new in terms of originality. It’s alright, it delivers, but nothing beyond that.
That’s why it reminds me of Heeley’s Cocobello, but less dense. I detect palm leaf and coconut water notes… bear in mind, not gourmand or carnal coconut, but pure water with wood. I’m not saying they’re identical, but it takes me in that direction. I understand there’s a reference to Le Beau…
Not bad, but I was expecting more dominant cedar and vetiver with green notes. I tested it in both heat and cold: light citrus, sweetened with sugar and benzoin. It reminds me of something from Invictus; it shares that DNA, but as a woody scent, there are better options. Zara has Black Pepper & Cedarwood, S4ND4LW00D, Sublime Cedar… and other houses like Ferragamo or Azzaro. In summary, this is dispensable for me.
I don’t understand the negative reviews. I’m a woman and went to a perfumery to find something for my boyfriend; among many choices, this was my favourite. Don’t trust the ratings: I tried several top men’s scents and didn’t like any of them; it’s a matter of taste. It smells lovely; I’m not an expert in accords, but I find it very attractive.
I loved its opening: fresh, citrusy, and soft. It projects very well at the start but fades quickly, staying close to the skin. To my nose, I do detect the woods, though soft. I see it as very versatile and as a blind buy.
A very good fragrance with the best longevity in the Bvlgari Man line (it lasted longer than Man In Black). It’s very woody and green. It becomes linear, smelling almost the same at the start as it does after three hours. I think it’s for special occasions, like a barbecue or the cinema; it’s strong and to my taste a bit sweet, so wearing it daily would be ostentatious. Undoubtedly it’s elegant and well-made, lasting 6-8 hours. 8/10.
It seems insulting to sell this at those prices. It smells good, but nothing novel. The worst part is the longevity and projection: five hours on skin and then it fades to skin level. What a pity. I’d been wanting to try it for a while, but with these performance levels and at £65, I won’t pay for it in jest.
Contrary to other comments, it performs well on my skin. I can smell it almost all day and on clothes it lasts for days if not washed. Bvlgari Wood Essence hasn’t reinvented the wheel, but it is long-lasting, with herbal tones, delicate woody notes, and a sweet finish ideal for the office and everyday wear in intermediate seasons. I wouldn’t pay £70, but if you find it for £30-£40, it’s a good bargain.
I would have preferred it to be more woody; I think it fails there. On my skin, it feels very much like Aventus, perhaps due to my pH. I definitely prefer this from the range over Man in Black. Wood E. It’s not a bad perfume, but it offers nothing transcendent; sometimes it seems more like an exercise than creating something good. In summary, it’s more summery, not for daily wear or any age group (35+).
A lovely fragrance and pleasant… but unfortunately, due to perfume houses’ desire to kill off scents, the batch I have lasts about two hours and then disappears as quickly as it arrived. Forget about sillage; it’s very personal. Don’t expect compliments, because no one will know you’re wearing it unless you announce it.
It smells peculiar but pleasant. If you mix Encre Noire with Man in Black, you get this. I liked it. The longevity is lamentable; it fades to skin level within two hours and has no sillage. It’s a shame they reformulate it like this and offer a watered-down version at a golden price. I don’t see it appealing to women; it seems like something to enjoy in solitude with a book on a stormy afternoon. It’s for a mature, reserved audience, an evolution of Encre Noire. It smells better than the other, although this one doesn’t last as long. If you’re looking for a scent for a tough, intelligent, and sensitive man, buy it if the price is right. I wouldn’t pay more than £40.
I heard it yesterday on a friend at a trendy bar and today on an older gentleman at a local pub. In both cases, it reminded me of men’s perfumes from years ago that I can’t quite place. It smells very vintage. It lasts a long time; I noticed it on my friend the day after a concert and it was still detectable. I really liked it!
Clean, fresh and elegant aroma, though I was disappointed because on my skin it becomes imperceptible in a few hours.
It doesn’t last long on my skin; I think it’s more suited to autumn and winter. It’s an elegant, clean scent, but it loses its strength quite quickly on me.
I love the blend of soapy herbs with sugar. It gives the impression of always being fresh, just out of the shower. I’d recommend it for men outdoors who are looking for something manly and seductive.
When I tried it, I loved it. I found it clean, elegant and enjoyable. The dry-down was wonderful. However, I had to press my nose against my wrist. I also applied it to my neck and my partner noticed nothing. This happened at best after three hours. In short, a scent close to excellence that doesn’t last a minute. A pity.
It smells exactly like its name: like being in a forest smelling the wood. I loved it at first spray; it’s citrusy with green notes and then becomes more woody. Unfortunately, the performance is poor; it doesn’t last more than three hours and then is almost imperceptible. You have to spray it more than six times for it to last a bit longer, but it’s still very expensive. What a pity it’s so pricey with such poor performance.
On its own it’s attractive. It smells clean. It has a special touch, more linear and similar to others currently available, but I find it not very intense with poor projection. It’s ideal for someone looking for a discreet perfume that doesn’t attract attention. If you want people to smell you before and after you arrive, this isn’t your ally.
My favourite designer fragrance, the Italian Bulgari, is evident in the class and refinement of its scents. This Wood Essence is like a bottled alpine forest, with a woody and herbal aroma, something mature. I recommend it for those over 25. It’s not powerful, but it projects well for the first two hours. The longevity is good, about 8 to 9 hours. It sticks to clothes a lot, even stains them, and you have to wash several times to remove the scent. Don’t buy it blind. It’s versatile, but in extreme heat it can be suffocating, so I don’t recommend it for that.
I tried it and fell in love. It has a unique woody scent, a green touch and a pleasant sweetness. Bulgari with elegance and simplicity. It lasted a long time, about 10 hours on the skin.
A soft woody fragrance. The blend of cedar, vetiver and benzoin is pleasant and easy to like, though nothing groundbreaking; you could buy it blind. It lasts about 5-6 hours without a trail. It’s for casual use or elegant daytime occasions. I liked it more than Bulgari’s Man in Black, which is similar to my Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, and it’s more versatile for all seasons.
Very rich. The wood gives it incredible warmth and the citrus that I like. My boyfriend wears it and I adore it. It’s for daily use, comfortable and understated, ideal for work.
If the price doesn’t justify it, it’s not worth it. It smells nice but doesn’t last. If you’re in Argentina, for around £15, go for Giesso Puro Naturaleza; the similarity is striking and it performs almost as well as this Bulgari.
I love it. It’s acidic, fruity and floral at first, then becomes sugary. It’s synthetic and linear but interesting. The acidic lemon with lots of sugar and natural woods give it a green touch. Its sugar note makes it unique. Unfortunately, it has poor projection, stays on the skin and lasts about four hours. The price is high for the performance, but it’s worth it for the unique and pleasant scent. It’s versatile, informal, suitable for the office or personal enjoyment.
It inspires elegance in me. I see it for those over 25, not for young boys. It goes with formal or semi-formal attire. Super versatile, especially for autumn and spring. It’s not generic; it has its own identity and doesn’t remind me of anything else. My rating: 10. Performance: it’s not invasive, projects for a short distance (1 to 1.5 metres) and lasts 2 hours; as a second skin, it lasted 6 or 7 hours. For me, it’s a 10; it smells luxurious.
Hello, if you are in Argentina and have curiosity about this fragrance, I tell you that it’s 90% identical to Giesso Nature. Go to Farmacity and try it. It smells like the rainy forest found in Cariló.
It smells like a wet mountain with dew, when the cedars have ripe, sweet cones. With an inexperienced nose, I loved it… today it seems quite sweet, nothing sexy or mysterious. It’s a perfume in no man’s land.
It’s incredible; I don’t know much about notes, but the wood, especially the cypress, and the citrus are noticeable. I wouldn’t say it’s elegant, but rather very versatile, masculine, and serious, in the style of a wealthy, classy man who is different from the common man. PS: I tried the Giesso Nature version; it’s similar but smells old.
I started with the citrus and resines at full strength, and once it dried, it became pure wood, like a forest under the rain. Ideal for kicking off spring.
At first, it didn’t surprise me, but once it touched my skin, it smelled delicious. Performance and projection leave something to be desired; it stays quite close to the skin. Update: I bought the bottle because I couldn’t find anything else I liked more, and after about five wears, the performance and projection have improved, especially in heat and humidity. I’m surprised that it’s a dark woody aroma with a sweet touch reminiscent of my experience with D&G Pour Homme, making it very versatile. It’s an elegant Italian scent with a well-masculine sweetness, very pleasant; in D&G it’s tobacco, here it’s benzoin (no fruits, caramel, or vanilla). Obviously, in heat, use it with a good outfit; it works both day and night, especially in open or airy environments, as this sweetness is different from fruity ones (which clash and are very informal) or fresh vanilla scents (which require caution in heat). It has a masculine presence that might seem for adults, but no, it’s masculine, modern, for all ages, though I’d say it’s a paternal aroma, from the side of security, severity, kindness, nobility, and strength; I believe it reflects this, a well-made man. Overall, I loved this Wood Essence; now it lasts well on me, between 4 and 5 hours, with a personal bubble where the first hour projects well in enclosed spaces. Also, from time to time, it has bursts of trail that you keep smelling yourself after a while, though it does require several sprays. In my opinion, it’s worth it for the scent and performance in terms of personal bubble; it’s very balanced and to personal taste, plus it fits my personality; I identify with it as I do with D&G. Hopefully, it would last longer while maintaining that personal bubble performance, but given the quality of the perfume, I’m content to reapply in a situation where I need it.
Nice scent, but nothing spectacular to justify the price… and the longevity isn’t great either.
When I bought it, I liked it, but once it dries, there is a base that is very unpleasant. I thought it was my skin, but I tested it on others and it’s the same. I don’t know how to explain it; it seems like a patchouli that has gone off. It’s that smell left on clothes after using soap that doesn’t dry properly. Before buying, test it on your skin and wait a while to see how it develops.
Hello! What a wonderful perfume! Elegant and sophisticated, of course, it’s not for every nose. A note in passing: I see many reviews stating they wouldn’t buy it due to poor longevity… I don’t see it that way. The best fragrances don’t last hours. Personally, I have 5ml decants of each; the one I wear during the day, I carry and reapply every 3 or 4 hours. I don’t stop using something excellent just because it lasts less than 3-4 hours. Best regards!
Second stop for Bvulgari, and it’s time to talk about Man Wood Essence. It opens with a sugary citrus that clashes brilliantly with the wood, giving it great projection and a top-tier finish. As it settles, the herbal notes take control without losing that citrus touch, which then softens further. It lasts around 4 to 5 hours before staying just on the skin. I love it; it’s ideal for temperate climates and for men aged 25 and above. It suits any occasion, though I wouldn’t wear it at night due to its moderate development. In the dry-down, the vetiver adds elegance and masculinity without resembling a grandfather’s scent. In summary: average projection and longevity, versatile for any occasion, fresh and masculine. Cheers!
