Following the official pyramid: sweet rum, bitter orange, iris, cocoa bean, tonka and ebony. I liked it, though I regret that Morillas’ current perfumes are so skin-scented. The opening is a whiff of real rum blending with the orange, but it fades quickly; the star is the cocoa bean, bitter and serious, nothing like a sweet treat. The iris is barely noticeable, but the tonka surprises without being plasticky, with nuances of grass and tobacco. All this fades quickly before the ebony takes over. Longevity is decent but the trail disappears fast. Good value, though it doesn’t reach the brilliance of other fragrances like Fève Délicieuse.
A night in a Afro-Caribbean bar: it begins with spiced rum and a cold glass, then comes the surprise of a warm, clean floral note, and closes with an addictive blend of resins and guaiac wood that leaves you relaxed. Projection is powerful for the first four hours, after which it lingers on the skin with that sweet, woody sensation for longer.
An impressive fragrance by Alberto Morillas, a mark of quality. It’s the mature, settled version of Man in Black, like a fine spirit waiting its time to surprise. Not for eighteen-year-olds, but for adults who have left university colognes behind. You can taste the spices in abundance; the aged rum is a delight alongside the resins. Not for hot days or the beach, or it will overwhelm your head; you need to know how to wear it day and night. In summary, much more refined than B.M. IN BLACK: 9/10 for the fragrance, 8/10 for the bottle.
Very similar to the original, but with more body and presence. Delicious, hyper-masculine, though the longevity is moderate.
Excellent and extremely addictive fragrance. Why? Perhaps that tobacco note or the sensation of bitter cocoa with bitter orange, simply exquisite. I couldn’t hold back and bought a second bottle as it’s a limited edition. It doesn’t compare to the new batches of the original fragrance; those last nothing. Ideal for winter and autumn. Its trail and longevity are top-notch; on clothes it lasts for weeks. Highly recommended.

It fades quickly, yet it’s one of the finest masculine scents for autumn and winter: simple, rummy and spicy, warm and huggable, with a touch of cocoa. The bottle is gorgeous, but the spray fails like the rest of the line. The longevity is decent; nothing like the current Man in Black which lasted an hour on me, this one stays for seven hours on skin though it projects less. I’m looking for a Black Orient to compare. For me it’s 9/10, would be 10 if it projected a little more.
Fast and direct: one of the best masculine scents for autumn and winter. Rummy and spicy in abundance, warm and huggable, exactly what you need in the cold. The combination makes it seem to have cocoa. The bottle is a marvel, though the spray is flawed like the rest of the line. Decent longevity, nothing like the standard Man in Black version which lasted an hour on my skin; this one stays comfortably for seven hours, though it projects less than I’d wish. I’m looking for a Black Orient to compare. For me it’s 9/10, a 10 if it projected a little more.
Very good, but with luck it lasts only four hours 🥲
