Nowhere near my style, I admit I did not like it much, although one of its creators is Rosendo Mateu. It brings a very earthy and rather dirty sensation, as if I were in a field shed with the tractor, the tools, the dust, and years of farming. It is that smell of dug-up earth and roots, but hours after working. After an hour, it loses intensity and leaves a blend of mild vanilla and tonka bean sweetness with something rough and dry, which I imagine is the iris root. I do not find the charm in smelling like that, although obviously it is a matter of personal taste.
Eau Dada is pure patchouli. If you do not like the note, stay away; and if you do like it, you might still not enjoy this version. They have opted for a very woody, dry, and earthy patchouli. It opens with an oud and saffron (thanks to the safrole) that are perceptible but fleeting and fail to integrate well, standing out without blending in harmony. In the end, all that remains is a dry patchouli with a minimal touch of vanilla. It is not a playful oriental patchouli with marked resins or vanillas, but a mature, very dry, flat, and boring perfume. I love patchouli in general, but I do not enjoy this Eau Dada.
I received a decant as a gift and I must be honest: it is one of the strangest scents I have tried. Perhaps it is because I have not yet developed a taste for exotic and complex niche perfumeries. My advice is to try it in a decant, preferably 1 ml, as 3 ml is already too much of a risk.
With the White collection Discovery set, all I can say is that, besides the patchouli, it carries that kind of Oud de Burgas oud, but in a friendlier, more wearable version for everyday use.
