Ego Tigre has surprised me. Upon application, the first thing I feel is an explosion of sweet pineapple combined with a very refreshing citrus touch. As it evolves, floral and aquatic notes become perceptible, giving it an elegant character, almost like a fruity and fresh blend in the style of Acqua di Gio. In the base, the woody notes and amber start to emerge softly, making it ideal for any occasion. It has good longevity on my skin, more than 6 hours, and although it does not project too much, it remains pleasantly present. However, I must say that the bottle left me somewhat disappointed; the design is not the most aesthetic and the atomiser can be tricky to use.

Ego Tiger caught me off guard. It opens with a sweet, citrus pineapple bomb that refreshes instantly, then evolves into floral and aquatic notes, giving it an elegant air, almost like a fruity Aqua di Gio. Finally, the woods and amber emerge softly, making it suitable for any occasion. It lasts over six hours on my skin; while it’s not a powerhouse, it projects pleasantly enough. The downside is the bottle: the design isn’t aesthetically pleasing and the atomiser is a bit fiddly to use.

  • It’s a hybrid between Club de Nuit Intense (or Creed Aventus) and Acqua di Gio: the citrus opening is strong, but it immediately drops to an aquatic base combined with that typical mossy sensation. I was surprised by Armaf’s new trend of hybrids, as they work very well. My only complaint with Ego Tiger is that, although it lasts (around 5–6 hours) and projects well at first, compared to what we’re used to from Armaf, I find it a bit weak. If they gave it a bit more projection and longevity, it would certainly be a beast mode.

It opens with a fruity note of bergamot and pineapple, quickly turning green and earthy due to the patchouli, with a strong marine air where ambergris and oakmoss stand out. Gradually, a very soft floral touch of rose and jasmine, slightly sweet, emerges, while the green apple and pineapple reappear with a salty whisper. After an hour, the earthy and woody notes revive on the skin, pushing the bergamot into the background, though that marine, salty, and woody character lingers until the end. It smells of grass, wet earth, and a forest after rain, with a soft musky and animalic base. Towards the end, the vanilla and woods persist, giving a powdery yet sophisticated finish. It is very versatile, suitable almost all year round, perhaps less so in winter. On my husband, it projects well for the first 4–5 hours, then settles into a solid bubble that lasts for most of the day; on his skin it exceeds 12 hours and on clothes it lasts for days. Economical and brutal in performance, highly recommended.
