Without a doubt, what stands out most is the leather: nothing animal, very pleasant. The violet is noticeable, and as it dries, the heliotrope gives it a powdery touch. It’s very unisex; the opening is more masculine and the dry-down more feminine. The drawback is the performance: it projects little. The longevity is average. I think it’s suitable for any weather, both day and night.
A great leather perfume. And there’s the problem, hehe, because I’m not passionate about that note. Normally I struggle to smell it, but here it works wonderfully. Contrary to what the brand says, it’s not a delicate leather on the verge of breaking; rather it’s wild, balanced but with character, nothing like soft suede. I agree with the previous review: it’s creamy and sweet-sour, a good description. Don’t be afraid of the pyramid; it’s not powdery. The musk is controlled, the violet too, and the heliotrope gives a sweet touch that lacks a bit to be the protagonist. The narcissus is mellowed and I’ll leave the blackcurrant to try it in its natural form. Disproportionate price, like almost everything, but I highly recommend trying it if you like leather.
Phase one: imagine riding a thoroughbred, surrounded by cows with flowers in the saddle. Phase two: the animal touch disappears, leaving a moderate, elegant leather, like a luxury handbag. Phase three: it becomes a white, ultra-soft leather, only noticeable if you get very close to the skin.
It’s exactly the leather scent I was looking for. This Jean-Claude has left my wallet empty, but his formulas are on another level. To my nose, the powdery flowers, violets and heliotrope blend with the musk, soon mixing with the blackcurrant and narcissus. The result recalls L’eau d’hivern, another gem from the house, though with different notes. The best comes later: the flowers fade and a fine, velvety, powdery leather emerges, like luxury gloves that feel like a second skin. A total marvel.
