I’ll start, as I usually do lately, with the official notes, which are not the ones Fragrantica lists: fresh opening (absinthe, mint, hay), heart of rose, ylang-ylang, geranium and spices, base of musk, sandalwood, patchouli, oud, Gurjum balsam and oriental notes. This perfume has left me speechless; being an Arabic oil, it is the antithesis of what I know. I have many attars and they are all strong and intense, except Haneen, and almost always with lots of wood or oud. I never imagined a green and fresh scent in these attars, but here it is and it is Jannah. The opening is very green and fresh, smelling of freshly cut grass and a potent mentholated hay, very balsamic. I liked the opening, but the really good part is when the middle and base notes appear, creating the olfactory illusion of the resin of the stone pine cone, uffff, it’s mind-blowing with the clarity I perceive in that illusion. As a child, I used to go with friends to a pine forest we had nearby (now it’s prohibited) and we would pick the pinecones to toast them and extract the seeds, so we could earn a little extra money. The smell that remained on our hands after picking the pinecones, of pine wood and resin, is what this perfume smells like, with a mix of fresh seeds. I loved it. There was no point in looking for notes or performing an autopsy on this masterpiece when I was enjoying it like a child. The longevity was very good, about 8 hours with good intensity and then a few more, but fainter. The trail is moderate, common for these oils, but if body heat or pulse rises, it radiates like crazy. Perfume for warm days and especially for daytime use. I love it, I can’t say anything else, so at the price it has, you miss out if you don’t try it.

I bought it blindly following the reviews and it has taken me by surprise. It’s a very woody fragrance, with a minty opening reminiscent of fir and an oud base. It’s unisex, though I see it as more masculine. It’s like approaching a castle surrounded by cypresses; it reminds me of the Alhambra. I’ve read that for some it smells like old books or dusty libraries, but to me it doesn’t; it’s a dark green, deep coniferous scent, pleasant and linear, without the citrus found in Western perfumes. It has great projection and longevity; it still smells after I’ve washed.

I bought it based on the reviews and have had it for a year. I didn’t dare to comment until I gave it a lot of use, especially because I have a client from Saudi Arabia who brought me pure oud and I was left wanting to have some (he would bring it when he returns). The truth is, here you can tell the oud is of good quality, woody, very masculine and versatile, and at the price it has, there’s no need to say more.
I bought it based on the reviews and have been using it for almost a year. I didn’t dare to comment until I had tried it thoroughly, especially because I have a client from Saudi Arabia who brought me pure oud and left me speechless; he promised to bring me some when he returns. The truth is, here the oud is of good quality, gives a sense of the forest, smells very masculine, and is super versatile, and at the price it has, there’s no need to say more.
I bought a new bottle to refill the one I had left, as I absolutely loved that scent. Today I tried it and my joy was completely dashed: it smells different from what I had and has put me in a bad mood. Now I understand the other reviews that didn’t match my experience. This new batch smells like La Dame de Noir: synthetic, chaotic at first, then pink floral with warm, sweet woods. It’s not bad, but compared to my bottle, I find it repulsive. I don’t understand how the same perfume can smell so different. Mine was freshly cut hay, fresh and minty, evolving into creamy, resinous woods, like the resin of stone pine cones with their fresh seeds. That was a real pleasure, reminiscent of Xerjoff More Than Words, but this doesn’t even come close. What a pity what they’ve done to this fragrance; judging by the dates on other comments, it’s been like this for a while. I was lucky with the 2017 batch. What a shame, because what I have left is pure ambrosia. I’ve read on Fragrantica and Parfumo that others are saying the same. For me, it’s dead. I’ll keep the memory of what it was and let it rest in peace.
