King of Seduction by Antonio Banderas is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2014, this composition was created by Olivier Cresp and Claire Liégent. Its olfactive structure unfolds with pineapple, melon, bergamot, grapefruit and green apple in the top notes; the heart reveals marine notes, jasmine, cardamom and neroli; while the base settles on vetiver, white musk, cedar, suede and amber.

  • Fresh, soft citrus opening with a sweet base that is enchanting. Truly delightful. A pity about its longevity, but it is tremendously versatile and seductive. Perfect for the office, a workout, or a casual date. I’m not much of a fan of AB fragrances, but this one is definitely worth it.

  • ParfumLover

Economical and pleasant. Nothing special to be noticed on first sniff, but it can be worn daily, even over-applied, and could become a scent that defines you. Ideal for the office as it is hardly invasive and very discreet.

More citrusy than I expected, for me it’s quite sweet. It can feel heavy even when fresh, so apply with caution; especially on hot days, it’s a blue fragrance suitable for any occasion (except very hot weather). It’s the third or fourth bottle I own to fill the ‘I don’t know which scent to wear’ drawer. However, I never quite love it entirely. It has a certain shampoo-like synthetic note. It bears a strong resemblance to Versace Dylan Blue ‘for women’; it’s quite versatile and most people will enjoy it. Rating: 6 stars.

  • Do not buy this blindly. It is a sweet scent, leaning slightly unisex but more feminine. I detect no citrus or freshness as claimed; it is very subtle, almost imperceptible. Some notes remind me of Diavolo (which I do not like), with that synthetic sweet cosmetic touch, like lipstick or catalogue makeup. It bears no resemblance to Invictus; I would say it is more akin to One Million, as it also smells like a feminine perfume, very sweet with floral or cosmetic notes. I do not feel it is suitable for everyday wear; it feels more appropriate for a night out. It does not last long, so reapplication will be necessary. If I had to choose one from the Seduction line, I would stick with ‘Blue Seduction’ for its charming fresh, fruity aroma and the capuccino base that I love, plus it reminds me of Polo Blue EDP. Scent: 6/10. Longevity: 7/10. Projection: 6/10. Sillage: 6/10. Value for money: 7/10. Blind buy: 3/10. Season: temperate and cold climates.

HARD TO PLACE: This fragrance reminds me a bit of Benetton Nero, sweet yet fresh at first, even with a pleasant marine touch. Within minutes it turns floral, powdery and musky with a muddled scent profile. I ended up gifting it as it never quite took my fancy; it’s an aroma lacking real character, suitable for casual or office settings but fails to stand out. As a daily wear, it gets by on its accessible price and availability in 200ml bottles. The suede note is barely noticeable; the amber blended with musk is felt but remains undefined. I detect no fruity cocktail and the citrus fades within the first five seconds. It suits people aged 20 to 40; the fixative is decent but unremarkable, offering about three hours of projection before you need a reapplication at the five or six-hour mark. If you’re looking for an AB, go for Power of Seduction, which is better realised, though slightly generic due to common lavender and geranium notes, yet it has more direction than this one which fails to define itself. Do not buy blindly and test it first, but don’t judge within the first five minutes; take an hour to see if you truly like it. Recommended sprays: 6 to 8. Fixative: 7. Sillage: Medium. Intensity: Medium, though there is a penetrating ingredient that can become annoying near the neck or face.

  • It’s true that it’s very synthetic and doesn’t resemble Invictus; it lacks the power to do so. It might have a similarity in the opening, but after two hours it becomes imperceptible. It’s pleasant but has no trail; it’s very weak, so you might need to apply 10 sprays. I gave it away.

Of all the Antonio Banderas scents I’ve tried, I bought this without expecting anything and was surprised. It lasts four hours, no more, with low to non-existent projection, but it’s much better than Blue Seduction. The first two hours are refreshing, fresh, sweet but not cloying, nothing extraordinary, with a masculine touch. After that, for the next two hours, on my skin it smells like a new car; it’s funny but that’s the idea it gave me. Give it a try.

  • An economical fragrance for spring/summer, nothing more. It’s fruity, fresh and sweet but not cloying. To me, it smells better than Blue Seduction: it’s more pleasant and versatile. The main issue is longevity; on me it lasts four hours very close to the skin, with moderate to low projection and trail. It’s for those over 20. It’s cheap at most places, so you can replicate it without problems. It usually pleases and doesn’t bother, but it doesn’t stand out. Pretty, but there are a thousand better options.

  • A Christmas present from 2020 that didn’t convince me at first due to that sweet base, but I’ve grown on it over time. It’s not one of my favourites, but it’s one I reach for when I’m unsure what to wear. I disagree with everyone saying it smells like Invictus; that one bothers me, but this AB scent is pleasant, subtle and youthful with a serious touch for work or school. It reminds me a lot of Montblanc’s Starwalker; I tested a spray of each on each arm and they are very similar on my skin. The AB one feels a bit more ‘messy’ and has a strong alcoholic opening, but afterwards it’s almost identical to Starwalker. I apply about 8 sprays and they last easily six hours; the first hour is very noticeable. It’s worth it for the price and usually pleases people.

Generally, Antonio Banderas fragrances are overlooked, but this is a gem: I picked it up for 200ml at 1200 pesos (around £60) and it smells fantastic. I call it the ‘Invictus for adults’ because the musk and suede give it a more mature vibe. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it again, but it’s an excellent first perfume.

  • Very fresh and practical for hot days. The fixation isn’t the best, but the projection seems very good. It’s a pity it doesn’t last long on the skin; if it had better fixation, it would be ideal for me, especially because the cardamom is dosed superbly and the price is quite reasonable.

Kind of Seduction is a top choice if you’re looking for something marine, perfect for summer. It’s fruity, marine, and very fresh, though nothing like Invictus. It has a normal trail and easily lasts 4-6 hours, although its projection is a bit poor. For the price, it’s brilliant and is among the best AB has in marine or summer fragrances. Scent: 6/10, Longevity: 8/10, Trail: 5.5/10, Compliments: 4/10.

  • Projects for a maximum of 40 minutes, then becomes more intimate. Moderate trail for an hour. Lasts about 4 hours on the skin and up to 12 on clothes. Starts citrusy, then turns sweet and pleasant.

  • Fresh fruity aroma, like melon and apple; the citrus notes aren’t prominent and it becomes slightly sweet. At first, it smells of alcohol, but as it dries down, the aquatic and fruity notes emerge, staying fresh. Ideal for the office or hot weather. Literally, I apply 10-15 sprays and it doesn’t bother anyone. It projects for an hour, lasts 4-5 hours on the skin regardless. I use it for unimportant things, like going to the supermarket or making a quick delivery. For the price, it’s a beast, good for any age and perfect for gifting to boys as their first fragrance.

  • JavierSantana

I tried it a while ago and it’s lovely, though nothing like Invictus. It reminded me of Axe deodorant but fresher, and I liked it. I expected little longevity and projection, but it’s fine for summer. I’ve added it to my list. Blessings.

  • Alisonarmando31

I loved it at first: fresh, marine, and when it dries down, it leaves a musky base that I adore and isn’t cloying. I didn’t repurchase because I got a bit tired of it, as it was my only fragrance from that period, but it’s good and very reasonably priced.

  • Nicouruguayo

Mmm, it’s sweet but without going overboard or projecting metres away. A gentle sweetness that might get boring with time, but for the price I paid (around $30 for 100ml), it’s brilliant.

  • It’s not a bad fragrance, but it overwhelms me. Eventually, the smell becomes unbearable and I just get fed up with it.

  • One of my favourites for the vibe it gives off. The only flaw is that on my skin it lasts a mere breath, but the scent is top-notch and the value for money leaves nothing to be desired.

  • Good fragrance, quite citrusy at the start, although its performance is improvable. On my skin, after 30/45 minutes it’s no longer noticeable, which, given the accessible price, allows you to reapply. Fragrance: 7/10 Longevity: 3/10 Trail: 6/10 Price: 9/10

  • I bought it cheap in a tester, otherwise not a chance, and honestly, it’s not worth it. It’s very similar to the Absolute, but I’d choose the latter a thousand times; this one doesn’t last anything and the reformulation left it destroyed, those indicated fruits are no longer traceable, it ends up being another clone of Invictus but very weak. If you want something similar, go for the King of Seduction Absolute.

  • I’d wear this over Black Seduction, but be warned: the longevity is a disaster. After an hour and a half, you have to nudge your nose just to catch a whiff.

  • Short review: It’s quite versatile but lacks development, due to its very short longevity, around 2 to 3 hours (the reformulation killed it). The projection is almost non-existent and is only felt when you apply it, afterwards in a personal bubble. What does it smell like? A fruity blend with pineapple, grapefruit, and green apple well-marked, with a slight citrus touch over a marine base. It smells clean, pleasant, and fresh. It’s a rich fragrance but has the WORST performance I’ve ever encountered in my life… Whether it’s worth it depends on your wallet.

  • It’s aquatic and sweet, not bad but not enchanting either. The performance is just okay. I bought 200 ml and sold it shortly after. It’s cheap and serves for showering in summer, but for that, I almost prefer something from Zara or a Sapphire clone.

  • I bought it for around 30 USD for 200 ml. The scent is acceptable, marine with some fruit that isn’t distinguishable. The problem is that it doesn’t project or last. I found myself filling the cart with several fragrances between 20 and 30 dollars to make the most of them, but they smell similar and don’t last or project. In my opinion, I don’t recommend it; save your money to buy something that lasts and projects more.

  • It was one of my first perfumes: good for summer, smells fruity, fresh, and marine. Yes, its performance isn’t the best, hovering around 4 hours, but for the price, it doesn’t hurt to reapply. The performance could be better. It’s not for formal occasions, but for going to school or working in summer. It’s a good economical option if you don’t want to spend much, although if you have money, look for something better.

  • Leandro Matias

I was gifted this and it smells rich and fresh, with a sharp touch. Perfect for hot days, for showering, and maintaining that clean sensation, ideal for the gym or very relaxed moments.

  • It’s disappointing in terms of longevity and projection. The scent is rich and pleasant, and the price is very economical, but the problem is that it doesn’t last on skin or clothes; it evaporates incredibly fast.

  • EnriqueSeguraJ

It’s a synthetic that leaves no trace of its notes. It resembles Blue or its Absolute version more. Without a doubt, this is the worst; the Power is average, but at least it lasts longer than this one.

  • King of Seduction by Antonio Banderas smells fresh and elegant, with citrus, marine, and woody notes. Ideal for spring and summer outings or the office. Lasts moderate-good (5-7 hours) with a medium trail. Its value for money is top. Rating: 8/10 🍈🍋🍏🌊

  • That’s what I’d say: it’s more of a scent than a perfume. It smells very good and can lift your spirits, but it has no standout notes. Very flat throughout its life. Summary: a rich but indcipherable aroma with very short longevity.

  • Erick Fraganza

Greetings. Before I started looking into olfactory notes, suitable weather, and the time of day, I got this fragrance. It doesn’t last long and I regret it with all my heart. It’s a tremendously pleasant scent. It’s clean, citrusy, with something like an aromatic fixative. Super synthetic, but that’s its charm. It’s for wearing a crisp shirt in the office, plus a slightly flirtatious after-office vibe. Spectacular before it’s spectacular.

  • coquitoperfumista

Exquisite, though it doesn’t last long. It feels rich, and if you apply it well to your clothes, it can reach about 30cm away.

  • JavierSantana

The best description I’ve read of this is: One Million / Axe Leather and Cookies / Banderas The Secret for summer.

  • A fragrance that would be top-tier if it lasted longer; unfortunately, it fades in a breath no matter how much you bathe in it. It’s fresh, doesn’t overwhelm anyone, and quite pleasant. It’s the only scent someone on the street who didn’t know me said smelled delicious.

  • LarryCapija

I won’t say anything new, but it’s one of the richest perfumes I’ve tried. Unfortunately, the longevity is non-existent; after an hour, you might just catch a whiff, though it works well for the gym. Still, in terms of scent, it suits semi-formal shirts. It’s masculine yet sweet within its marine and fruity profile, incredibly pleasant. The performance really hurts my soul 🙁

  • This is my favourite perfume; at this price, reapplying doesn’t hurt. Does anyone know a similar fragrance? Honestly, I don’t see anything like Invictus as some claim.

  • pablosaldivia

It’s almost identical to Ungaro Man, just with more body and a slightly stronger presence.

  • It doesn’t smell of the sea to me, but rather fresh and sweet. It’s hugely fruity at first, then the heart emerges with something reminiscent of white flowers, giving it that almost unisex vibe that many love.
