This fragrance has several stages that I’ve enjoyed differently. The opening is absolutely stunning; it’s almost gourmand, smelling of lemon cookies… In fact, it reminds me a bit of Montale’s Greedy, but with lemon instead of chocolate. For me, this is the best phase. Then it fades slightly, losing its gourmand edge and transforming into a more classic citrus scent, which even reminds me of the smell of some shaving foams. I was a little disappointed in this phase… After a few hours, the scent becomes very animalic, reminiscent of the dry-down of perfumes like Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent but more citrusy… And by the 10-hour mark, I detect a faint skin scent, very much like lemon juice. The projection is good initially but loses quite a bit of strength afterwards. However, the longevity is excellent. What cannot be denied is that it’s a different and original perfume… Would I buy it? Perhaps not right now as my first choice, but I wouldn’t rule it out for the future… Scent: 8 Longevity: 8 Projection: 6 Versatility: 7 Originality: 7 Value for money: 5 Overall: 7.5
Such a lovely thing… I wonder what on earth it’s doing there. It’s as if you caught a shy twenty-year-old girl dressed in pink in the middle of a heavy metal party with satanic tints at seven in the morning. Or, put another way, how a house that smells of blood, gunpowder, and a drunk tart in the port suddenly changes tack and releases a tender, sweet gourmand scent, one you’d imagine in a luminous bottle with kind drawings, rather than in the honourable company it currently keeps within its brand. What does it smell like? Christmas lemon toffee, certainly drawing from the same source as Allure Edition Blanche, but here the spices are missing, and of course the tonka; we encounter that strange biscuit note present throughout the fragrance’s life. I’m likely to buy it, but I have doubts about its performance. It seems too soft for the price, even though I can’t really opine on that as I’ve never tried it, yet it appears at a disadvantage compared to its brand sisters. A lovely and precious thing.
My favourite Shalimar Soufflé has just lost the crown as my winter citrus. What a beautiful and original perfume!!!

Alongside Acrasia, this is Beaufort’s safest bet. Upon application, it smells like those typical lemon biscuits we occasionally treat ourselves to. The pastry note fades quickly, leaving behind the citrus, which gradually blends with something soapy and vanilla. I can’t detect the other notes. I’m not saying it’s bad, but I feel it doesn’t offer much for the price it commands.
