  • Figs can do it, from root to leaf, wood, and fruit. I think it’s my favourite fruit. There are few perfumes with standout fig notes (Goutal’s Ninfeo Mio, Hermes’ Un Jardin en Mediterranee, and the budget-friendly Green Tea Fig by Elizabeth Arden are at the top). The now-defunct Good Life by Davidoff also featured a fig leaf note that was achieved well. Years ago, I discovered this beauty from a Swiss brand associated only with penknives, knives, and watches, inspired by outdoor life. I don’t do extreme sports and always dismissed their options out of fear of the unknown: ERROR. Mystique Forest, during these days of lockdown, allows me to close my eyes and travel to the humidity of a stream in a dark, fresh forest. A true oasis in my claustrophobic urban ecosystem. It opens with fig leaves (which hold until the end), cardamom, and apple tree. The heart consists of carrot seeds, magnolia, and oak. Finally, an exquisite vetiver and the great protagonist alongside the fig leaves: moss, a penetrating but not piercing smell of wood mixed with dry grass and an irresistible certain sweetness. If Swiss Army manufactures instruments for extreme experiences, their perfumes certainly don’t lag behind. It’s not risky in terms of quality, but in performance: it projects for 8 to 10 hours and longevity reaches 24 hours. It’s an all-rounder for all seasons, but looks better in the intermediate ones and during the day. Its forest effect at home (or in the office) is almost the best thing that could happen. Guaranteed. The bottle matches the green musk juice: simple lines, clear glass, and a wooden cap. A 10 here too.

  • I love figs from root to fruit; they are my favourite fruit. Very few perfumes stand out for this note (Goutal’s Nymphéa, Hermès Un Jardin en Méditerranée, or the budget-friendly Green Tea Fig by Arden lead the list; even the now-discontinued Davidoff Good Life had a brilliant fig leaf accord). Years ago I stumbled upon this gem from a Swiss brand known for pen knives, cutlery and outdoor watches. Although I always dismissed their options out of fear of the unknown, I was wrong: Mystique Forest is an oasis in my claustrophobic city. It smells like a stream in a dark, fresh forest. It opens with fig leaf (which lasts throughout the entire fragrance), cardamom and chamomile. The heart features carrot seeds, magnolia and oak. It dries down to vetiver and the star player, moss: penetrating yet soft wood, with dry grass and an irresistible sweet touch. If their tools are precise for the mountains, their perfumes are too. It’s not risky; it’s a 10 for longevity: it projects for 8–10 hours and lasts up to 24. It’s the ideal all-rounder for intermediate days; its forest effect at home or in the office is unbeatable. Guaranteed. The clear glass bottle with wooden cap and base fits its green mossy essence perfectly: another 10.

  • The Victorinox website lists notes of fig leaves, cardamom, yellow lemon, and apple leaves; a heart of carrot seeds, magnolia, and oak; and a base of vetiver and moss. I’ve had this for months. The first impression was good and impactful, seeming to express a “mystical forest”, but over time it doesn’t feel quite so much anymore. Warm days have arrived; perhaps winter would favour it more. The opening is green and juicy, which I like best (which is why people compare it to Jardin en Mediterranee, though it has little in common with that). What stands out now is the fig leaf, a vivid note I enjoy in all perfumes that carry it (except in Gucci by Gucci Sport, which I find very bitter). As the alcohol dries, a powdery, green, slightly rough note emerges at times, with a faint soapy foam tone. There is also a delicate floral aspect, overshadowed by the powdery side. I think this powdery aspect motivates the similarities with Decadence, but Decadence is sweeter and warmer, whereas Victorinox is greener and more rugged. Perhaps it’s the interaction with my skin, which accentuates the soapy foam and dampens the sweet chords. My skin doesn’t always work well with moss, which turns acidic and intense. I’m not sure if I’ll keep using it; I wish it were sweeter on my skin. After four or five hours, the powdery note recedes to give way to a rounded, resinous sweetness, still green but soft and warm, returning to the vegetation of the opening. This dry-down is very pleasant. The quality smells very good for the price; I got it at a third of the cost of designer houses. Fixation is good and projection is too, although I test it on my arm and it tends to outperform softer perfumes. For me, totally unisex. It seems very well made, but I can’t find a reason to use it regularly. I could wait for winter, but I think it will end up in an exchange because I choose others. PS: I agree with @hernie; his words describe this perfume well. The difference lies in the scent on the skin and the associated feeling.

  • The Victorinox website lists the main notes as fig leaves cardamom yellow lemon and paradise apple leaves // romantic notes as carrot seeds magnolia and oak // base notes as vetiver roots and moss. I’ve worn it for several months. Initially the first impression was good and impactful; it seemed to truly express the atmosphere of a ‘mystical forest’. However with continued wear it doesn’t feel quite the same to me… Just to clarify there have been warm days in my region recently; perhaps it would favour the winter… The opening is green and juicy in my opinion the best part of the perfume (presumably why it’s voted similar to Jardin en Mediterranee but the truth is it has little in common with that…). I estimate that what’s distinctive right now is the fig leaf which is a vibrant note I enjoy in all the perfumes I know that carry it (except in Gucci by Gucci Sport where I find it very bitter). As the alcohol dries down and the perfume settles on my skin a very talc-like note begins to emerge green slightly rough at times with a faint soapy foam tone. I can also perceive a floral aspect but it’s quite subtle or at least overshadowed by the talc-like character… I’m sure this talc-like side is what motivated the votes comparing it to Decadence as the effect is very similar but Decadence is much sweeter and warmer whereas Victorinox is more wild and green so to speak… It could be that this scent is the result of its interaction with my skin which tends to accentuate soapy foam effects and never highlights sweet chords rather dampening them a bit… My skin doesn’t always react well to moss which becomes somewhat acidic and overly intense… I’m not sure if I’ll manage to use it; I wish it were a little sweeter on my skin… After about four to five hours the talciness drops considerably to give way to a rounded resinous sweetness still green but much softer and warmer returning to vegetation reminiscent of the opening. This base is very very pleasant. As for the quality of the scent it feels of very very good quality for the price! I got it at a third of what designer houses charge. The longevity is good and I think the projection is too although I never wore it on my neck; I kept testing it on my inner arm or wrists and it tends to outperform softer perfumes being noticeable at a certain distance from the arm… For me totally unisex. I think it’s a very good perfume very well crafted but I can’t quite find the reason to use it… I could wait until winter to see if the climate makes a difference but I think it will end up being swapped because I end up choosing others to wear… PS: I agree with @hernie’s review; I think their words describe this perfume well. The difference lies in the resulting scent on the skin and the associated feeling…

While browsing, I stumbled upon this EDT… it was made for me, given its notes and an unbeatable price. I bought it blind and it was PURE LOVE 😍. What a delight: it’s fresh, slightly sweet but not overpowering. It’s a beast in terms of longevity, with moderate projection and trail, and the bottle is simply gorgeous. I’ve already bought three from this brand: For Her, Morning Dew, and this one, which stole my heart 💖.

On the lookout, I found this EDT… It was made for me by the notes and the price… I bought it blind, tried it, and it was pure love 😍. What a delicious thing: fresh, sweet but not over the top, beastly in longevity with moderate projection and sillage, and the bottle is gorgeous… I already have three from this brand: For Her, Morning Dew, and this one… Of the three, this is the one that stole my heart 💖.

As Marie-Jacqueline says, PURE LOVE, an absolute find! I returned to Ciudad del Este in February 2025 to relive my nineties experience, though this time the city’s chaos put me off. The only thing that saved the day was this wonder. Among the classic brands, budget options, and new Arab fragrances, the sales assistants barely glanced at me, so I settled for coffee, started testing, and nothing convinced me to pack it in my luggage. In a rush, I grabbed the Eternity by CK (which I later discovered should have been the Eau de Parfum version), and with little hope, I moved on to the budget range. I would never have dared to try something from a brand that smells like Old Spice! I tried one I didn’t like, and tucked away was this one. I thought ‘pretty little bottle’ and FINALLY! SPECTACULAR. At first, I thought it was unisex, but then it’s totally feminine, although the fruity notes could make it unisex. Since I sprayed it to leave the shop, ten people asked me what it was, even the cashier was surprised. I gave it to my mother and she loved it instantly; she says it compliments her wherever she goes. I know of no similar scents, I’ve never smelled anything like it. It has a quality reminiscent of the last good days of the nineties, pre-reformulation. Lasts 24 hours or more with an incredible trail. For me, it’s a fruity aromatic with white flowers, ideal for spring, summer, and daytime, suitable for a wide age range. It’s a 10/10.

As Marie Jacqueline clearly states PURE LOVE a tremendous find!!! I went shopping in February 2025 in Ciudad del Este (paradise {???} tax-free or something like that better not inquire too much in Paraguay); I had done so in the early ’90s and returned then loaded with new fragrance discoveries 😉 some unfortunately already discontinued such as Insensé by Givenchy. Thirty years later I tried to replicate the experience; unfortunately the chaos of the city overwhelmed me and I didn’t have a good time either inside or outside the ‘shopping centres’. The ONLY good thing was this wonderful fragrance. There are huge stores in that city dedicated solely to perfumes; thirty years ago they were too but more like a perfumery one might find in any city whereas now they are vast. Among classic brands low-cost options infinite ‘Arab’ novelties endless ‘flankers’ and the TOTAL indifference of the sales assistants (something common in C.d.E.) too much; I bought a handful of mouillettes and a glass with coffee beans and started testing on my own. Nothing convinced me enough to add weight to my luggage (a too earthly constraint for air travel); in a hurry I bought the Eternity by CK remembering it totally differently (later it was too late I tried the eau de parfum and THAT is what you need to buy) and with little hope I moved on to the low-cost options. I would NEVER have thought in a common situation to try anything from a brand that seemed closer to Old Spice than serious perfumery. I tried one that didn’t convince me I think it was Mountain Water for Her and next to it hidden away was this one nice little bottle I thought FINALLY!!! SPECTACULAR!!! At first I’m not sure if due to enthusiasm it even seemed ‘unisex’; after a few minutes it’s totally feminine… or not… the fruity notes are predominant and from that side it could be unisex. From the moment I sprayed it until I left the store at least ten people asked me what it was and even the cashier behind a glass with only a small opening to pass money underneath was surprised. I gave it to my mother and she loved it instantly telling me that wherever she goes her perfume compliments her. I don’t know any of those declared as ‘similar’ nor have I ever smelled anything similar anywhere. It has a quality that reminds me of the last good days of perfumery in the ’90s pre-reformulations and niches. Longevity is 24 hours or more and the trail is tremendous. For me it’s more of an aromatic fruity/white floral than a woody one suitable for spring/summer/day with a vast age range. From any angle it’s a 10/10.
