It starts intriguingly with carrot, with a vegetal hint. I detect spices, peppery and bitter notes. Then the iris and violet emerge; they dominate the heart until something sweet and a suede-like finish, reminiscent of Daimiris, arrives at the end. The iris is not earthy as in Lutens, but rather in the style of Dior Homme with a lipstick scent. It is unisex, though it leans towards feminine in the dry down. The performance is not bad, but not among the best; it doesn’t last long. It suits any weather, even heat. I like it; it doesn’t smell synthetic and is good for the office or daily wear, but with so many perfumes I already own, it doesn’t convince me to buy it. It is good, but it falls a rung below the brand’s greats like Kashnoir or Patchouliful.
Nirmal smells incredibly elegant; I received it as a decant so I could try it out. It carries the DNA of Dior Homme, yet if it had a name of its own, it would be Dior Femme; I adore it on women, although it is 100% unisex. The feminine touch comes from the lipstick note, but it is executed very well.
