  • Quercia Eau de Parfum is a very aromatic, woody, and slightly spicy fragrance. Among those I’ve tried from Acqua di Parma (AdP), it is one of the most different in terms of personality, as most seem to be of a classic or formal style; this one, however, seems quite casual, a bit relaxed, and less original than other AdP creations. Now, that is just my perception. Quercia starts with a fresh, fruity, and spicy opening, which at times makes me think of a known scent, and upon reflection, it seems to have something between Terre d’Hermès and other modern fragrances. Perhaps the combination of citrus notes, pepper, and cedar (ISO Super E) gave me that sensation. Its aroma is pleasant, but more common than expected from an Acqua di Parma fragrance. It lasts on my skin for about 8 hours, with medium projection for the first hour and then gradually fades. I recommend trying a sample before buying.

  • It has turned out to be a very interesting fragrance. I was looking for something different from the legendary Acqua di Parma scents I like, distinct from the well-known Oud, Leather, and Ambra, and I think I’ve achieved that with this one. It has an aroma that reminds me of a fusion between Terre d’Hermès and Davidoff Cool Water; I find a fresh marine point combined with a cedar or earthy smell, quite fresh. In short, a very good option to expand the Acqua di Parma collection. In my opinion, perfect for autumn when the sun sets. If you’d like to try a decant from my collection, just ask. Javier Espín.

  • Although it is a fragrance I love for its woody notes, it has the weakness of projecting little; after three hours, you no longer remember what you’re wearing because it disappears completely. It’s a pity because that combination of the AdP cologne base with this oak ingredient is a marvel.

  • Quercia EDP recaptures the essence of vintage perfumes with a profile marked by oakmoss, woods, and citrus top notes, with a spiced and rough touch. The name fits perfectly: it evolves to become more compact, woody, and soft. I prefer the Cologne version for that fresh touch, although the difference isn’t as significant as with Vaniglia. It’s a worthy successor, with good performance and usable all year round. I see it as distinctly masculine, for formal use, giving authority and maturity; I believe one needs a good attitude to wear it. Rating: 8/10.

My favourite fragrance (so far). In fact, I wore it to my wedding (November in Spain) and couldn’t stop receiving compliments. It has a scent… well, I don’t know how to describe it. Deep, slightly spicy and rough, yet super elegant. This perfume, paired with my bespoke Italian LoroPiana suit, was a sure bet.

Quercia EDP seems to be a fragrance that rescues the essence of old-school perfumes, thanks to its profile marked by oakmoss, woods, and citrus top notes, with a slightly spicy and rough touch. The name fits perfectly, evolving to become more compact towards a woody and soft aspect. Regarding the ‘Colonia Quercia’ version, I prefer it for its marked cologne character, but I must highlight that the difference isn’t as significant as with Colonia Vaniglia and Vaniglia EDP, where they did kill the fragrance. This EDP is a worthy successor, with very good performance on my skin and usable performance all year round. I see it as a strictly masculine fragrance, with more formal than informal use, which personally generates authority and maturity in me, so I believe one needs a good attitude to wear it. Rating: 8/10.

My favourite fragrance so far. I wore it to my wedding in November and people couldn’t stop complimenting me. The scent… I don’t know how to define it; it’s deep, slightly spicy and rough, yet incredibly elegant. Paired with my bespoke Italian LoroPiana suit, it was a safe bet.

  • An exquisitely elegant and refined Cologne. Fresh yet solid thanks to the wood. The ingredients are perfectly assembled. The projection is scarce, but the dry-down duration (my reference) allows it to be noticeable 24 hours later.

  • A simply exquisite and refined cologne. Fresh yet solid thanks to the wood notes. The ingredients are perfectly assembled. The projection is scarce, but the dry-down duration (which is my benchmark) allows me to perceive it even 24 hours later.

QUERCIA, wow. I love Acqua di Parma, especially Cipresso di Toscana, which is my faithful companion. I bought a ‘discovery box’ containing five fragrances (oud, leather, sandalo, Osmanthus, Quercia) trusting in their quality. Yes, the quality is evident, but what is this scent? To give you a quick idea, I had already tried Quercia and it was an unpleasant surprise: I had to go wash my arm. It doesn’t smell horrible, but it reminds me of something familiar I can’t quite place. I drove from Paris to Barcelona, stopping at French stations, and in one restroom, I saw the orange anti-odour plaque. It was the same smell! At the third station, I realised: ‘good heavens, it’s the same smell as Quercia’. I couldn’t believe it; I knew I’d smelled that Quercia scent before. From the start, it gave me a sensation of a cleaning product. Of course, you don’t want to smell like a motorway service station toilet. I’ve put it away. Like with the Oud, which faintly smells of oud, I’m not sure if I was tricked with the box, but the Leather definitely corresponds; it smells good but it’s not my type. The sandalo is very good, the Osmanthus is something else, and then… Quercia, for when you have a craving for the smell of a freshly cleaned toilet (at least). If you’re curious what it smells like and are on a journey, you know what to do. If you’re truly interested, write to me; I have a new decant.

TO QUERCIA, and I love Acqua di Parma so much, especially Cipresso di Toscana which I always use. I bought a ‘discovery box’ with five fragrances (oud, leather, sandalo, Osmanthus, Quercia) trusting in their quality. And yes, the quality shows, but what is this smell? To give you a quick idea: I had already tried Quercia and it was an ungrateful surprise. I had to go wash my arm. It doesn’t smell horrible, but it reminds me of something familiar that I couldn’t recall. I wore it from Paris to Barcelona with stops at French service stations. In the washroom of one, I saw the orange anti-odour plate emitting a peculiar smell. At the third station, the same story, and I realised: damn, it’s the same smell as Quercia! I couldn’t believe it; I knew I’d heard it before from the start, it gave me a sense of cleaning product. You don’t want to smell like a motorway washroom. I’ve put it away. Like with Oud, which remotely smells of oud, I don’t know if I was tricked with the box, but Leather corresponds, it smells good but it’s not my type. Sandalo is very good, Osmanthus is anything, and then Quercia… for when you have a craving for the smell of a clean washroom (at least). If you’re curious about what it smells like and you’re on the road, you know what to do. If you’re really interested, write to me, I have the new decant there.

The first Acqua di Parma I don’t like at all. In my imagination, it should smell like Halls citrus caramel and something sweet, aromatic. But it smells close to chemical. Strange for this house… Sincerely, I don’t want to smell like this.

  • First time I haven’t liked anything from Acqua di Parma. In my imagination, it smells like citrusy, sweet Halls cough drops, but in reality, it comes across as chemical and odd for the house. Honestly, I don’t want to smell like that.

I’ll comment on the top notes later… You won’t believe me, but the dry-down notes, though very faint, bear a strong resemblance to African Leather by Memo Paris, likely due to the cardamom and woods. It finishes very softly with a moderate trail, but as an EDP, its longevity surpasses other Acqua di Parma fragrances I’ve tried.

  • Sir_GregMan

I’ll comment on the top notes later… You won’t believe me, but the dry-down notes, though very faint, resemble the top notes of Memo Paris’s African Leather quite a lot; surely it’s the cardamom and the woods. The fragrance ends very softly, the trail is moderate, but as an EDP, the fixative power is greater than in other Acqua di Parma perfumes I’ve tried.

  • I absolutely love it; it has a delicate vintage vibe reminiscent of Loewe’s Jacques, but far more refined.
