  • Another disappointment with Acqua di Parma’s EDPs… It has an explosive opening, but after five minutes the scent fades to skin level. It is fresh, soft, and smells clean, very different from what I know. If it lasted or projected more, it would be a good purchase (I paid $257 in Bolivia, a terrible buy).

  • Projects to fifteen centimetres in the first five minutes, then you have to press your nose against it to detect it. Wonderful scent, but terrible performance. A ridiculously high price for a fleeting sensation of citrus freshness and green notes. Seventy or eighty euros for thirty millilitres is not justified by the ingredients, the brand, or that one minute of brilliance.

  • It is a very natural citrus scent with a realistic yuzu, but its performance is awful. The opening is potent, but after five minutes it fades to skin level; you almost have to press your nose against it to notice anything. After half an hour it is imperceptible, leaving only a faint citrus trace if you get very close. There is no time for it to evolve or for you to perceive the other notes. With over 200 fragrances in my collection, I guarantee that no cheaper one has such poor performance. Incredible that a niche house like ADP would launch this and sell it as an EDP when their colognes last longer.

  • I expected more yuzu given the name. L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme is a sharp, juicy, fresh yuzu, though here florals dominate: jasmine, mimosa, and lotus flower, in that order. They create a scent similar to Hermès’ Un Jardin de Monsieur Li, with differences if you test them together, but nothing like Acqua di Gioia. It smells relaxing and refreshing, but the performance is terrible: zero projection after the opening and mediocre longevity for the price. If you like the line and have a good purchasing power, buy it and reapply, but Un Jardin costs half as much and lasts better.

  • I tested this fragrance alongside others from Acqua di Parma, and my expectations were not met; it simply doesn’t work well on my skin. I struggle with citrus scents; it smells great straight out of the bottle, but the trail is very soft and it doesn’t last, barely noticeable after four hours. Surprisingly, Sakura from the same house performed better, lasting around eight hours. It seems that for citrus scents to last on me, I need to try Il Profumo or the Riserva versions.

  • Smells like freshly opened flowers when spring arrives; super floral yet with a masculine touch that makes it elegant and natural, nothing cloying. Projects strongly for the first three hours, then settles on the skin; in my case it lasted over 12 hours and is still detectable on my jacket after a week. I recommend it, but don’t buy blind.
