I won’t contradict the previous review as I’ve only tried it once and they’re probably right. However, I thought that, being such a beautiful, well-presented fragrance, the best approach is to use it in moderation; perhaps we’re dealing with a ‘beast mode’ and risk the mistake of ‘bathing’ in it. Having said that, my opinion on the fragrance: here I’ve found one of the best patchoulis I’ve ever smelled (almost on par with Molinard’s 1999 ‘Patchouli’); it’s the star note. I don’t detect that overwhelming array of extra notes, save for a pleasant, subtle oud, a slight cobbler’s leather, and a spicy accord (pepper and perhaps saffron, which I’m getting used to in Arab brands). That ‘burnt’ effect others have noted undoubtedly comes from the patchouli in high doses. It’s not just about smelling it; you must test it on skin before buying (I agree with the previous reviewer). On my skin, it has had a quite pleasant evolution.
Excellent quality and performance for the price. Although it resembles the Rasasi one, it maintains a high-quality aroma in its ingredients. I recommend it blindly if you want to smell different from everyone else.
Bought this based on good recommendations and the opening smells soapy-fruity like Rasasi’s Sura, but the smoke note ruins everything. They overdo it; it smells like burnt plastic. In Sura it’s well-balanced, here it’s intolerable. It’s as strong as Rasasi’s Tabac Blaze, which is a toxic beast, and this is the same thing, just slightly less so. If it smelled like smoke or incense, it would be fine, but this is burnt plastic with fruit and soap. Not recommended; smell before you buy.

My opinion: here I found one of the best patchouli scents I’ve ever smelled (almost on par with Molinard’s ‘Patchouli’ from 1999); it’s the protagonist note. An Oud, saffron, and red fruit bomb. Absolutely unisex. It’s an oriental fragrance and distinct from the traditional style. Beast mode activated, worth it, and the price is superb.

Hello… According to the notes, there should be leather, which I haven’t smelled at all since I’ve been wearing it. The rose comes through clearly… A soapy and clean aroma. This lasts until it fades after 10 hours. I find it slightly feminine, but I like it quite a lot and wear it.
Around 2019 there were two ‘sibling’ perfumes due to similarity: Shurah by Rasasi and Huberta by Kelsey Berwin. This Special Oud joins the trio as a domesticated version of both. It has an almost soapy tone in the heart, which differentiates it from Huberta, but it follows its path. It’s for cold weather or transitional seasons. It’s economical, so in my opinion, it’s interesting.
Hello… According to the notes, it should have leather, but I’ve never detected it since I started wearing it. The rose comes through fully; it’s a soapy and clean aroma. This lasts until it fades after 10 hours. I find it slightly feminine, but I like it quite a bit and use it.
Greetings! I’ve just familiarised myself with this perfume, which arrived a few days ago. Undoubtedly, it has quality: a beautiful bottle, cap, atomiser, and those little wood pieces inside. The scent is also well-executed and cared for. It’s a difficult and complex aroma; my issue lies with the base: it opens fruity and spicy, highlighting peach and saffron with lots of pepper. After that phase, in the heart, it remains spicy with an interesting floral accord. The problem arises in the base: a complicated oud that smells greasy, grating, and even gives me a headache; it reminds me of car grease and unaged leather, very wild, yet it doesn’t lose its spicy body. Performance is bestial: one spray flooded the room. It’s an interesting aroma, full of enigmas; I’ll give it time to interpret it better, but it will never go unnoticed.
I’ve just acquired it and am testing it: a beautiful perfume, regular cardboard box, robust and pretty bottle, metal cap, and it even has little wood sticks (they say they represent woody notes and oud). The scent is unexpected: it starts Arab and quickly shifts to a vibe I love: a vintage fougère style like Ted Lapidus or Jacques Bogart, eighties vibe, soapy, barbershop (though I shave myself), mixed with a touch of rose. I’ll continue to check the performance (seems brutal). I hope this helps, from Patagonia, Argentina.
Just arrived and currently testing it; what a handsome fragrance. The box is a bit flimsy cardboard, but the bottle is robust and beautiful with a metal cap; it even includes little wood shavings inside (they say it’s woody notes and Oud). The scent is a surprise: it starts well Arab and quickly shifts to a vibe I absolutely love: a vintage fougère à la Ted Lapidus or Jacques Bogart, very eighties, soapy, barbershop style (even though I only shave myself), mixed with a touch of rose. I’ll keep monitoring the performance (it seems brutal). Hope this helps, a humble servant from Patagonia.
I received it today and was disappointed. I can’t detect any of the listed notes. It starts with just a slight sting, then becomes linear: soapy, sweet grapefruit or pomelo, and stays there. Afterwards, it settles on something between peach and floral; I can’t tell which flower it is. I detect no woods, vanilla, oud, or leather; it smells entirely feminine, like a woman over 35. Nothing for men. It has nuclear longevity, but it only works if you like it; otherwise, it’s terrible. It was my first blind buy that I didn’t enjoy; I’ll be gifting or selling it.
Received it today and I was disappointed. The declared notes, truthfully, I feel none of them. There’s just a slight sting at first, then it’s linear, soapy and sweet bergamot or grapefruit, and that’s about it. Afterwards, it settles into something between peach and floral; I don’t know what flower it would be. I don’t sense woods, vanilla, Oud, or leather; it’s a totally feminine fragrance, for a woman over 35. Not at all recommended for men. It has nuclear longevity, but the issue is you have to like it for that to be positive, otherwise it’s terrible. The first blind buy that I didn’t like at all. I’m going to gift or sell it.
Personally, I have a batch from 12/2024 and I believe it still needs to mature; it smells like woods inside the bottle. Upon spraying, it’s spicy citrus with a touch of sweet fruit; the citrus dominates and guides the first few hours. It lasts quite a while, around 5 or 6 hours on the skin, noticeable beyond a metre. As it dries, a balsamic wood emerges, but closer to the skin. I’ll give it time to see if it becomes more woody. I don’t love it right now, but it makes sense for autumn or winter. We’ll see how it evolves.
It opens fruity and floral, with a unisex or even feminine vibe that some girls might not appreciate (I tested it), but as it dries down it becomes woody and smoky, gaining a masculine and seductive character. It’s not for everyone, but if you’ve been in this for a while and are seeking something interesting, challenging, and standout, it’s a good option.
If you already own Shuhrah Pour Homme, skip this one; it’s essentially the same dosage. I was looking for a more prominent oud, but it smells more like soap than wood. Avoid wearing it indoors as it doesn’t suit everyone and lacks evolution. However, it’s a beast: its longevity and projection are brutal.
