Fifty per cent of this hallucination’s versatility depends on the dreamer. After months and acidic compliments, I invent a pseudo-intellectual opinion. Do not mind my nose, more treacherous than Brutus. You wake up scared in the atomic opening: fresh white soap, wet under lukewarm water in a worn-tiled bath, and something half-green, half-astringent, the tomato leaf. Then comes a ghost wood, with freshly cut roses in a hurry and last-minute jasmine, while you are still in that cold bath. The soap and leaf extinguish without haste, wandering between the living and the immaterial. Sad about the loss, you put on an old suede jacket to go play billiards with the mates. You enter an old stone billiard hall with little light, greeted by dirty ashtrays (only ash, no cigarette) dampened by the darkness. After an eternity, you reach out and smell that soap that died for the fatherland. Just when you realise you are not playing billiards, the dream ends. After this Huxley-esque lucid exercise, I frequent that den more. YES, it is an acquired taste. It is exacerbated at night and in the cold. Restricted versatility: daily work? Depends. I used it in the hospital and it smells like a cheesy doctor, a bad idea. Some offices or ad hoc contexts result in being acceptable. I do not see daily use, it is too special, ugly and insolent. It has become the demon of my devotion. BUY BLIND? NO.

  • I bought this expecting something more floral, hoping to catch that strong tomato leaf note everyone talks about. My surprise was diametrically opposite: no flowers or soap, but a combo of peach, smoked leather, and intense sweetness. I’ve never detected the tomato leaf or the freesia, and now I won’t know what they smell like because this is as floral as an Interlude or Khamrah; nevertheless, it has won me over and is now among my favourites.

  • It may surprise with its construction in masculine canons, borrowing ideas from old feminine perfumes. The difference is the tomato aroma, which is the protagonist throughout. Flowers are added, with freesia beating the rose (masculine), sweet tones, and woods with an earthy touch. It has a soapy scent, ideal with a shirt or apron. It is best appreciated by controlling the sprays; three are enough for the day. The performance is outstanding and the quality surpasses Arabian perfumery.

I started smelling perfumes at 15 thanks to my dad and brother; they showed me this fragrance at 19 and I didn’t like it, feeling too many spices. A great surprise to try it this year: I felt the leather I love, rose, musk, white flowers, and above all the tomato leaf, which I met in Italy and evokes the steam of sauce with basil. Shuhrah smells to me of that tomato leaf from the start, which persists and mutates with the other notes. At first, I feel it as sweet-floral, like a feminine scent, but over time the spices emerge, something smoky and the tomato leaf wrapping everything, with a layer of clean touches that creates a perfect balance, similar to Oud Wood. That is where my charm comes from.

  • First review here and I think it is excellent for beginners. Describing it is complicated because it betrays the olfactory memory: soap, cigars, ash, passionfruit… I highlight two things: it smells better on skin with an acidic pH. We tested it on two people; on one it remained as ash and smoke, while on me it was more sweet flowers with aromatic smoke, not ash. It is atypical, an acquired taste, a rare mix of flowers and smoke, until it smells like witch’s lotions. The opening is green, like cutting a young tomato stem. Then in the dry down, you notice a rich sweetness with wood smoke, a race towards the nose. In my case, the sweet floral won, and over time it transforms into tropical fruits like passionfruit or lychee, with sweet wood smoke if you get close. Projection is firm for 2 hours and duration is 10 hours without issues. It is unique, but if you oscillate between citrus and wood, you will get used to it quickly. Be careful with the sprays: two on the neck and clothes, a third on the nape to emphasise the trail. For the price, you don’t lose if you buy blind, and in cold climates it stands out more.

Blind buying perfume is an extreme sport… I read that you should NOT buy this blindly, but I took the risk. It is a delicious scent, totally unisex. It is a floral tied to passion fruit, very masculine (don’t be afraid), different from everything else. You will be the ‘different one’. I thought I wouldn’t receive compliments, but in five days I got six. I don’t feel that tobacco mentioned by others. Doubts? Go for it, you will love it. It is distinct and the mother of all Beast Modes. For just $30.

  • ArturoMendoza

At first impression, it smells of flowers and something soapy, but after 10 minutes, a strong, very sweet passionfruit note remains for over 10 hours. I was expecting leather or cigar notes, but only the passionfruit is perceptible. If you like sweet tropical scents, you will love this.

  • It reminds me of Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst but this one is smoky the tomato leaf is the main note. I read that the tomato scent comes from the interaction of its volatile compounds with the nose creating a sensory impression that is sweet smoky or fruity. That is why many people remember it as tobacco or cigarette. It is true that it is not for everyone I bought it blindly and I loved it from the first spray. I recommend it if you like perfumes like Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst or Opulent Oud with Tobacco Edition touches it came out at 550 for a 2024 batch. It projects for about three hours in beast-mode and lasted 10 hours on skin until I showered. Its dry down is very rich I can already imagine when it completes its oxidation process.

  • Shuhrah is a box of surprises: one day it smells of clean leather, the next of wet rubbish. I bought it to escape aquatic and sweet scents that no longer work for me, but after 12 months it remains an enigma. Sometimes I love it, other times it smells of soaked cigar and is simply vomit-inducing. I considered giving it to a colleague, but I wouldn’t risk them wearing it as a signature because when it has that vibe, it’s unbearable. Curiously, women have complimented me on the rose, which is well-executed, and I believe it mutates into something more pleasant after half an hour. I don’t see it as masculine; it’s unisex, which takes away some of my affection for it. I only appreciate the leather with rose; otherwise, a definite NO. My advice: TRY IT. Don’t spend the $24 because although it’s cheap, two sprays last 12+ hours and you won’t take it off without a proper hot shower.

  • What a wonderful perfume; it’s one of the best at evolving. At first, it’s strong, almost smelling of tobacco. After an hour, the smoky note fades and a lovely fruity scent emerges. Sometimes it stays smoky with a floral touch. I don’t know why, but sometimes it smells floral to me and other times fruity; it’s very rich.

  • The opening is rare and intense; the tomato leaf and rose scent is perfectly noticeable. During the dry-down, I didn’t detect any ashtray smell, but rather a smoky floral-fruity aroma that I loved. It feels more feminine due to its sweet-floral character, yet it is unisex. Not suitable for enclosed spaces like an office. High projection and incredible longevity on skin (still smelling it after 12 hours and a shower).

  • Dassbartender

I am not an olfactory expert but to me it smells of patchouli fresh roses and tobacco ash. It sounds strange but I like how it goes with my skin. Performance and projection are nuclear in my case. Like almost all my purchases it was a blind buy and it was a complete success.

  • A peculiar perfume for those who want to smell different. If you let it eat your ear at the opening it smells of wet ash. The three notes are felt but the tomato leaf dominates. When dried it is creamy and clean rose and jasmine with a soapy musk. The moss smells of climbing plant. The oud is slightly dirty but clean like Tom Ford’s Oud Wood. Beast-mode aromatic perfume with brutal performance. Scent: Distinct versatile unisex leaning masculine. Longevity: 10h until fading to skin. Projection: 2h30 very good with 5 sprays then moderate but persistent. Sillage: Heavy for 2h then moderate then soft for 1h30 more.

There is a lot to say about this scent and about me. Without jargon opinion of a normal person. Rasasi Shurah is something you have to get used to. I received it as a Christmas gift I smelled it and made a face of fascination despite the initial disappointment. But things are meant to be used and after a while I liked it. The first time it smells of flowers soaked in an old ashtray but when you get used to it and separate the notes it is floral and endearing that you will love (that happened to me). They say it is BEAST MODE but either they lie or my pH is rubbish. It lasts 8 hours or more but without sillage or projection you only smell it yourself. Do not be afraid to put on 6 sprays believe me you will not annoy anyone. For the price I recommend it but do not expect great sillage. If in the end it is my skin and you do have it… congratulations. It is a very different and rich scent with experience.

  • I will tell its journey from when it comes out until it goes away. At first it smells of crushed tomato leaf literally and that is the worst. Then comes the rose with a creamy sandalwood and finally burnt woods that were doused with water with a slightly sweet or fruity toasted touch (probably the passionfruit it does not smell of ash or cigarette it is subtle). Nuclear power: lasts a minimum of 8 hours projecting 4 or 5. The sillage is heavy do not use more than 6 sprays. The price is good for the longevity it cost me about 650 Mexican pesos. I do not recommend it blindly or for young people; if you are young do not turn around to look at this fragrance. It can be unisex but I see it as more masculine.

  • The opposite of the usual happened with this one. At first it enchanted me but after a month of daily use I got bored. It is a special perfume that at first smells of cigarette butt (I hate tobacco) but mixed with passionfruit it turns out great. My wife loves how I wear it. I refuse to believe it is feminine; for me it is maximum masculine.

  • El Figura

Very special but perhaps invasive and strange. They say the key note is the tomato leaf but I think they say that because they do not know freesia. I have a freesia room spray and it smells exactly like Rasasi Shuhrah so for me it is a freesia scent. It does not leave people indifferent: some like it some find it unsettling and others smell wet cigarette ash. The truth is it has a bit of that ash but it smells more of flowers and rare potent and acidic fruits nothing sweet. For its originality and price I recommend it to collectors to have something different in the wardrobe. A curiosity that may or may not please you. For those looking for a proper and friendly perfume for everyday life I do not recommend it as it is a very risky bet. Try it before buying. One more thing: it lasts a very long time perhaps the most of all I have tried. If you put it on your clothes the scent does not go until you put them in the washing machine.

  • José Manuel Muñoz

For the price it is worth it even if only for the olfactory experience. The scent is very intense at first with a tomato leaf note floral parts and woods mixed with a touch of ashtray (take with a pinch). It is not youthful nor for compliments nor for pleasing everyone and I see it as more masculine. Quite an original and different scent with good longevity and projection at least in my batch.

  • IvanPerfumista

There is a lot to say about Shurah: 1. It is not original; it is a 95% clone of Soleil by Stéphane Humbert Lucas. 2. Fragantica’s pyramid is wrong; the notes are from Soleil not tomato but chamomile. 3. I picked it up for $10 as a gift (it used to be $50). 4. I won’t break down the notes but as a whole it smells of floral-citrus perhaps delicious smoked passionfruit sometimes giving a soapy sensation. 5. It seems very masculine not suitable for women; that leather note sometimes smoke or cigarette is not feminine. 6. It is exquisite fresh floral-citrus and very different but do not buy it blindly. 7. It is not beast-mode but has good performance. For me 10/10 one of my favourites. Longevity 8-10 hours projection 3-4 hours. Daytime use office or semi-formal.

  • juancar677

It will depend largely on the skin; with mine, it works perfectly. Thousands of compliments, many more lost looks; so many times I’ve had to write down the name. It doesn’t smell like parsley, onion, or chamomile to me; it smells like glory, and with glory the nights end when I apply it. I don’t know where they get cigar ash from because there isn’t any. It’s BEAST MODE CLEAN. Only the leather note slightly muddies the base, which is also very good. For me, it’s a jewel; I own niches costing 200 euros.

  • diegomagadan

The worst fragrance I’ve ever owned… I only see an old man wearing it. Horrible. I don’t know if to categorise it as an anti-perfume, since it aims to please rather than be disruptive. If I’m asked what it smells like, it’s soapy but more herbal. I don’t know what herb it is, but it doesn’t belong in perfumery. It’s like putting on coriander leaf, parsley, and onion oil… I was surprised I managed to sell it. As soon as I sold it, I ran away to disappear. I never want to smell this again.

  • Sebastars72

A fragrance extremely complex to describe; I don’t know if it’s ‘pleasant’ or popular. I smell much rose with wood and oud, although the latter is light. Let me tell you, it’s very hard to find a fragrance with such longevity at such a low cost; believe me, Rasasi surprises, at least in this version. I also own Hawas for Him, but I think this lasts longer. Don’t buy it blind; it’s a particular scent, not for dates or for the young.

  • According to Basenotes and Parfumo, Shuhrah was released in 2015, so it could be as IvanPerfumista said; if so, that release with chamomile, osmanthus, and lemon makes much more sense (although I verified that this pyramid matches the official website). It’s interesting how everyone perceives it differently reading the reviews: I’m on the passion fruit + ash team, and in the opening there’s no freesia or roses; the chamomile note seems more accurate to me.

  • TitoBoznij

An intriguing, mature, and high-quality aroma. Projection and longevity are atomic (two sprays are more than enough). Personally, it became overwhelming to me (the tomato leaf, its most characteristic note, annoyed me), although I did receive compliments. I preferred to sell it as it was the one I used least. I recommend trying it first: you either love it or hate it. I didn’t like it, but I recognise its quality and value. For moderately formal use, nothing youthful.

  • To my taste, it’s versatile and enveloping. If you don’t watch the sprays and work in an office, everyone will surely notice your perfume. Excellent value for money, many compliments… of course, should you buy it blind? Maybe. It’s not a scent that annoys.

  • What can I say about this marvel? It suited me from the very first moment. It’s herbal and floral but dressed very masculinely. I wear it for work (two sprays) and most people notice my trail. If you control the amount and where you apply it, it’s super versatile and lasts a long time. I’m not so attracted to it at night. Many compliments. It’s my favourite ‘Arabic’ fragrance.

  • What a delightful scent. It’s unique and original. Rasasi does leather very well. If you like Layuqawam Poor Homme, you’ll love this because it’s more wearable and you’re probably the only one smelling like it in the place; you’ll surely attract attention. I recommend buying it blind for those who want a different DNA, plus it costs around twenty dollars.

  • A very peculiar fragrance. On the surface, it seems fresh and youthful, but it’s the opposite: it’s floral, woody, and accented. At first, it’s strong and brings me vague memories of Narciso Rodriguez for Him, that rainy, wet earth base. Gradually, the floral note remains with synthetic leather (not bad, but if you over-spray, it becomes overwhelming and gives you a headache). One spray floods the entire room. Potent and long-lasting, it’s a bomb for the price. It’s a niche fragrance disguised as a cheap brand; if it were from a ‘luxury’ house, it would cost more and have more hype. It’s not for everyone; it’s not challenging but complex and hard to compare, so it’s neither commercial nor pleasant for most. Imagine flowers, tomato leaf, wet wood, wearable leather, and a base of rain and wet earth. That’s how it smells to me. It could be elegant and earn compliments. I wore it in the afternoon and it still smells incredible. Amazing scent and longevity. Recommended.

  • At first, I fell in love with the scent, projection, and longevity, but the tomato leaf note gave me a headache, so I had to gift it away… what a pity.

  • It’s a strange perfume… Sometimes I sense it with a smell of petrol, herbal, sweet, and fresh; other times it reminds me of Homem Tato by Natura. It’s a rich scent, but I think it’s for using outdoors, not in enclosed spaces.

  • This thing is an indescribable delight. Not for everyone, don’t buy blindly. The scent is too different, strong, dark floral, and mysterious at the same time, irreverent and monstrous. It has three changing facets, lasts a long time… Words fail me, I fell in love. 100% masculine in my opinion; use it day and night, any season, but use little, truly very few sprays, 4 to 6 recommended maximum. It’s literally a nuclear weapon, 10 hours on skin, and to remove it you have to shower, preferably with hot water and plenty of soap.

  • Well, I’ve used it enough to review. This scent combines floral/aromatic with dark/woody. It opens with a strong, strong, strong aromatic and floral part; it’s one of those that can make you sneeze or give you a headache, and I don’t feel the opening fades quickly, at least for its 20-30 minutes (it’s really heavy). In the heart comes the curious part: it smells floral and woody at the same time, with almost an equal balance; you feel the rose playing with dry cedar and the other base notes adding body. The dry down is curious: throughout the perfume’s life, more than in the base, you feel that wet, dark, and strong oud (but woody, nothing animalic or faecal), with a leather accord that can be disgusting, as if you’d just polished it with petrochemicals, reaching a smell of smoke or cigar. There’s also the clean musk noticeable all the time. I’ve never heard anything like it; it’s an extremely unique scent and suits everything except hot climates; you put it on in heat and it gives you a headache. The trail and projection are strong; I gave it to several women: some hate it, others say it smells like a formal man, and others say it smells good, but they all agree that despite the floral note, it smells ‘macho’. The duration is exceptional, lasting until you shower. It’s a completely masculine scent despite the notes. I wouldn’t say it’s of higher quality; I give it 5.5/10, not bad for what it costs. I wouldn’t buy it again but the experience was good.

  • June 2024 batch. I bought it expecting it to be the beast they say it is, and it only lasts about 6 hours on skin.

  • MisterLombardo

I only sense a fruit and smoke… Hehe, it’s good, I have it but never used it. I’ll use it one day when I know it will be unique so that whoever hears it says ‘wow’. It smells very strange; you’ll be remembered forever, after all, it smells like smoked fruit.

  • I’ve never experienced a fragrance transforming so much: it starts herbal and turns into leather and exquisite wood accompanied by an incredible rose. It’s a proper beast, eternal on skin.

  • ElLocoDeLosPerfumes

It’s identical to Al Wataniah’s Special Oud, which comes at half the price and includes a little piece of wood (I calculate it’s oud) inside the bottle.

  • I was curious about ‘cigarette’, ‘passion fruit’, or ‘wet earth’ scents but didn’t know what to find. At 15€, my expectations were low, but I’ve really liked it and it will be the only one I keep for casual use and resetting my sense of smell. It doesn’t smell like anything I mentioned; it’s fruity, smoky, and floral, very peculiar and rich. It leans masculine due to that dark smoky touch; perhaps it would suit a woman, but for me, it’s for men. It’s polarising: it will clash with those who wear commercial perfumes, but for niche lovers, it’s a treat. Performance is very good, it projects a lot and lasts quite a while. Don’t let reviews fool you, try it; it’s an olfactory experience at an irrisible price.

  • Bought it blindly for the price without knowing the notes. At first, I hated the market or wholesale centre smell, probably due to the tomato note, so I tossed it in the fridge for a week. Later, bored with my 30 perfumes and wanting to annoy a sensitive boss during a long meeting, I wore it. To my surprise, I was full of compliments; even my wife asked what I was wearing and loved it. As it dries down, the tomato fades and it becomes masculine and distinctive. I wear it during the day and people always ask what it is; it’s an acquired taste. I will buy the Elixir version without a doubt. It lasts all day on clothes, noticeable the next day on the shirt collar, the trail fills an office room, and the strong projection lasts 6 to 8 hours, reaching nearly 10.
