  • It is my favourite of the entire Zoologist collection. If you like Fahrenheit 32, this is your next step. It is 100% marine, beachy, and full of animal personality. Totally addictive.

  • This isn’t perfume; it’s an idea without logic. Another hipster kitchen creation that eventually becomes Squid, perhaps due to the name. With this, I close my faith in this niche brand that creates artistic concepts rather than perfumes, capitalising on the boom to make money from a naive public, whose scents I would only wear if I were a circus character. It is neither attractive nor sexy; it smells like some strange creature from a Japanese anime like Mushi-Shi. I had no shame in selling the discovery set I bought and gifting it away. The Owner already brings in Ferraris at the cost of it. Goodbye Zoologist. P.S.: It has not the slightest resemblance to Fahrenheit 32, and buying it blind is throwing money away.

  • This isn’t perfume; it’s a nonsensical madness. Another hipster kitchen creation made after a few drinks that ends up smelling like squid, perhaps that’s why the name. With this, I close my faith in this niche brand which, rather than creating perfumes, conjures up concepts with good artistic flair and exploits the niche boom and the naive public to make money, yet whose scents I’d only wear if I were a circus character. It’s neither attractive nor sexy; it smells like some strange creature from Japanese anime, like Mushishi. I wasn’t ashamed to return the discovery set I bought. That said, The Owner already brings Ferraris at the expense of people. Goodbye, Zoologist. P.S. It has not the slightest resemblance to Fahrenheit 32 (hopefully), and buying blindly was throwing money away.

  • A singular and artistic fragrance with a dual scent: salty and slightly sweet, bright like salt crystals yet dark as the ocean depths, perhaps due to the ink or incense. It is a marine perfume, but not fresh and aquatic like the usual ones; rather, it is deep and mysterious, from the abyssal zone. Different, well-made, another success for Zoologist. Scent: 8, Originality: 9, Versatility: 7, Quality: 9, Price: 6, Design: 10. Total: ★★★☆☆. Notes: salt, incense, ink, and a sweet base that doesn’t quite fit the ingredients. Feeling: duality and balance.

Another very different piece. Although it has that marine character, what stands out most is a balsamic, very smoky incense. To me, it has two parts: a marine and salty one from the ambergris and ink, and a balsamic and sweet one from the incense, benzoin, and opoponax. It reminds me of Amouage Interlude or Nasomatto Black Afgano, without resembling them. The marine note isn’t the typical fresh one, but rather the smell of water or fish. On the opening, it smells like cutting fresh cuttlefish, in a pleasant way. Personally, I wouldn’t wear it; I recognise its quality and originality. As a work of art, it’s top. The longevity is excellent. Gradually it loses the marine character and leaves the balsamic and incensed notes. I see it as unisex, perhaps more masculine and for daily use. Due to the intensity, it could serve for the evening, though not so much for going out and meeting people as it doesn’t come across as sexy. Scent: 7.5, Longevity: 8.5, Projection: 7, Value: 6, Versatility: 6, Originality: 10, Overall: 8

  • Olfactory Memories

🔎👃🏻 FIRST IMPRESSION 👃🏻🔍 I know every nose is different and tastes vary, but saying this smells like fish is absurd. A ‘weird’ scent exists, and it may be less versatile, but it doesn’t smell marine as such. Bvlgari Aqva has more of an algae tone than this composition. Squid smells like incense + amber + ink + salt + deep nuances; imagine the habitat of a cuttlefish, not its smell. The dark ocean, the rocks, the ink… Blind buy? Not a chance. Mandatory try? Probably. 🌟🌟🌟

  • Olfactory Memories

Look, I know every nose is different and taste is subjective, but saying this smells like fish is absurd. It’s not an animal marine scent like Bvlgari Aqva with its algae; here we have incense, amber, ink, and salt that take you to the bottom of the ocean, amongst rocks and cuttlefish. I wouldn’t buy it blind, but if you’re given the chance, try it. ★★★

I was interested in the notes and bought it, but a single spray was a grave mistake. It smells like Holy Week with pepper and ink, nothing marine. The base is so potent that it overwhelms; I washed my arm and it still smelled of Good Friday incense. I even rubbed petrol on it to get rid of it, and I prefer that smell. Please, don’t even come near this rubbish. The brand is only for hipsters who focus on the art of printing.

I found the notes interesting, which is why I bought it, but as soon as I applied a shot, I knew it was a grave mistake. It smells like Holy Week with pepper and ink. That’s the smell! No marine accord whatsoever. The base is so powerful it overwhelms; it’s like slathering yourself in Good Friday incense. I had to wash my arm with soap and water, and it still wouldn’t come off, so I rubbed petrol on it and that’s how it went. I prefer the smell of petrol. Please, don’t even get close to this drivel. And the brand? For wannabe hipsters who only care about the art of printing. Age: over 80. Season: none. Blind buy: 2/10. Scent: 1/10. Originality: 1/10. Versatility: 1/10. Quality: 2/10. Price: 2/10. Sillage: 10/10. Longevity: 10/10. Design: 4/10. Sophistication: 1/10. Overall rating: 3.4/10.

  • They’ve already said it all below! It’s a very artistic fragrance, but I don’t find it difficult to understand if you’ve already explored the niche world. It has a duality that blends perfectly: marine, salty, resinous, sweet, and mysterious. I don’t find it at all animalic or challenging; I think it needs time to be understood and enjoyed. It lasts and projects well, ideal for temperate and cold climates, day and night. Worth trying, given its awards and reputation. Rating: 9/10

  • They’ve said it all below. A very artistic perfume, but I don’t see it as anything difficult to understand if you’ve already taken a walk in the niche world. It has a duality that blends perfectly: marine, salty, resinous, sweet, and mysterious. I don’t find it animalic or challenging; you have to give it time to understand and enjoy it. It lasts and projects well, seems made for temperate and cool climates, day and night. Worth trying for its awards and fame. Note: 9/10.

  • Squid starts with a spicy hit on the nose, accompanied by light incense, sweet nuances, something floral, and a metallic touch I attribute to salicylate. Then a salty, creamy scent joins with marine accords that dominate the composition over time. As it dries (about an hour and a half), it becomes a buttery, salty, caramelised ambergris from the benzoin, conveying beach skin and recalling Alien Mirage, though Squid is more complex, less floral, and fresher. It lasts about nine hours and has a strange projection: strong for the first two hours, then it merges with the skin until it seems to release a bubble of scent, although when I smell myself, I notice nothing. It’s a pleasant surprise, totally unisex and attractive if you give yourself time for the transition from cool to warm. Ideal from spring to autumn, day and night, but it shines on hot summer nights. It’s a second-skin scent, oily and dirty, but very attractive. My partner says I smell like Danish cookies. Those who say it smells of fish probably tested it at low temperature or my chemistry is different. The cool opening is bearable thanks to the incense. I advise trying it to anyone wanting to expand their olfactory bulb. Pleasant: 8/10, Interesting: 9/10, Versatile: 8/10, Original: 10/10.

  • Squid opens with a prickly sensation, light incense with sweet and floral nuances, and a metallic touch I attribute to salicylate (that sweetness of isoamyl alcohol). • Quality perfume. Yes, it smells like cuttlefish, like a seafood market in a fishing port. It is a masterful combination of musk and ambergris, very animal, ultra-sexual and carnal. Eating seafood increases libido and this perfume generates something similar. It is very well made; the composition is excellent: prickly, smoky, resinous, with an ink aroma from start to finish. An excellent recreation of the cuttlefish habitat, completely usable and enjoyable for those who love animal and marine scents. A little gem.

It doesn’t smell of squid or marine animal, but it smells good. You can detect the salt, the ink, a bit of incense, and lots of ambergris; pepper stands out at first. It could be unisex and offers a balanced aroma. At certain moments, I got the impression of smelling pencil shavings. It’s not a bomb or something challenging; if you’re looking for something different and unusual, this is one of them.

  • Genuine quality. To me, it truly smells of squid, like a fish market in a fishing port. The blend of musk and ambergris is masterful, very animalic, sexual, and carnal. Smelling it gives me the same kick as eating seafood. It’s very well made: spicy, smoky, resinous, and with an ink aroma from start to finish. It’s an excellent recreation of the squid’s habitat, usable and enjoyable for those who love animal and marine scents. A gem.

  • davidmerinom12

Tested from my bottle and after several sprays: I love it. It’s not fresh as it appears, but usable in the heat. The strange thing is you don’t associate it with anything, despite the woody incense, cinnamon, and that incredible ink note. The squid touch is residual, perhaps 10% fresh squid in Chinese ink. The longevity is infinite and the projection fades very slowly. The atomiser and presentation are a treat.

  • Delicious and subtle incense, with a sweet ink that envelops you and a hint of pepper. Synthetic ambergris adds a bitter, metallic edge. As it dries, it becomes saltier and more marine, yet retains that biscuit-like sweetness. It reminds me of corals on the beach, burnt myrrh mixed with the sea, and a bit of dry henna ink exuding salt. It’s oceanic, different, and curious, as if reading a newspaper with melting ink on the sand while someone walks by with homemade cookies.

  • Nothing like what I’ve smelt before, but certainly something natural: that sensation of being near the sea, fresh, salty, and dense. It’s complex, marine, and dark all at once. The incense is warm, and as it dries, it leaves a soapy trail and something reminiscent of saliva, sweet and animalic, yet not unpleasant. Lasts a long time on skin, though the projection is short. Usable, but for niche world people.

  • kikehdez16

It’s a bet on the squid ink accord: resinous, with incense, salt, and ambroxan, plus a cloying touch reminiscent of cloves. It’s not challenging, but very artistic; I see it more for collectors than daily wear, as there are better options for the same occasions. Try a decant before spending the cash.
